It sets the stage for Richards to make his Suns debut after being traded by the Hornets on Wednesday. Although Phoenix could be preparing to have Richards start once he gets acclimated to the system, it's unclear what role he'll play immediately with his new team. In any event, the 27-year-old big man has averaged 11.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocks in 27.2 minutes over nine games as a starter this season, and his presence likely spells bad news for the playing time of veteran Mason Plumlee.

Booker capitalized on a plum matchup against a shoddy Wizards defense, dominating with a game-high 37 points Thursday to go with a full stat line. The superstar guard is getting on a roll over his last six contests, a period during which he's averaged 32.5 points, 7.3 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 3.8 threes while shooting 50.4 percent from the floor. As long as Bradley Beal (ankle) continues to ride with Phoenix's second unit, Booker should have more shots available to him in the starting lineup.

Plumlee came down with 10 boards in just 17 minutes Thursday, tallying double-digit rebounds for the fourth time in his last six games. The veteran big man has provided a consistent dose of boards over his last nine contests, a stretch during which he's averaging 7.9 rebounds, 4.1 points, 2.4 assists, and 0.7 steals in 20.1 minutes while shooting 61.5 percent from the field. Plumlee remains Phoenix's interim starting center in the absence of Jusuf Nurkic (illness), but the Suns appear to be preparing for the incoming Nick Richards to take over down low once he's acclimated to their system.

Suns' Tyus Jones: Dishes out team-high 10 assists
Jones racked up nine points (1-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, 10 assists and three steals over 31 minutes during Thursday's 130-123 victory over Washington.
It was the 28-year-old veteran guard's highest output in assists since he dished out 11 dimes during the Dec. 13 win over Utah, but Jones has now failed to hit double figures in scoring in six of his last seven games. His minutes have also fluctuated lately largely due to his defensive shortcomings, occasionally ceding playing time late in games to the likes of Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale. However, Jones remains among the league's elites when it comes to assist to turnover ratio, and he should continue to be a strong source of dimes with solid shooting splits.

Richards (recently traded) has yet to join his teammates for Thursday's game versus the Wizards but will most likely be with them for Saturday's contest against the Pistons, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Richards was traded from the Hornets to the Suns on Wednesday but will have to wait until at least Saturday to make his Phoenix debut. Jusuf Nurkic is currently dealing with an illness, but Richards will likely start at center for Phoenix regardless, as Nurkic had come off the bench in his previous two appearances behind Mason Plumlee.

Suns' Nick Richards: Moving to Phoenix
The Suns acquired Richards and a 2025 second-round draft pick from the Hornets on Wednesday in exchange for forward Josh Okogie, a 2026 second-round draft picks and two 2031 second-round draft picks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
With Mark Williams healthy and playing well, Richards had been relegated to a backup role over the last month for Charlotte, but he'll now likely get an opportunity to start in Phoenix. Jusuf Nurkic (illness) has fallen out of favor, resulting in Mason Plumlee starting nine straight games. Richards had played at least 24 minutes 10 times this season, averaging 12.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.9 blocks in 28.1 minutes per game while shooting 62.9 percent from the field and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line during those contests. Richards' first chance to make his Suns debut will come in Washington on Thursday.
