Top Knicks News

  • Knicks' Mohamed Diawara: Wraps up rookie campaign

Diawara appeared in 69 regular-season games (seven starts) in 2025-26, averaging 3.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists across 9.2 minutes per contest.

Diawara finished the season with a DNP-CD in all five games of the NBA Finals, and he appeared in only six games during the playoffs. The 21-year-old forward saw brief stretches of increased playing time, especially when Miles McBride missed 27 consecutive contests from Jan. 28 to March 26 due to sports hernia surgery. During that span, Diawara averaged 5.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 40.5 percent from deep in 14.2 minutes per game.

  • Knicks' Pacome Dadiet: Muted role in 2025-26

Dadiet appeared in 29 regular-season games in 2025-26, averaging 1.7 points and 0.9 rebounds while shooting 33.3 percent from the field in 4.7 minutes per showing.

While Dadiet appeared in 11 more games than he did as a rookie, he averaged fewer minutes per game and scored in double figures just twice. However, the 20-year-old swingman took a step forward in the G League compared to 2024-25. Over 19 appearances with the Westchester Knicks this season, he averaged 22.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals across 34.6 minutes per contest.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Sees increased run in 2025-26

Kolek finished the 2025-26 campaign with averages of 4.4 points, 2.7 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 11.7 minutes per contest across 62 regular-season appearances (one start).

Kolek didn't see the floor during the Finals and logged double-digit minutes just three times during the postseason. The 25-year-old point guard took on an increased role in his second season but lost consistent playing time after Jose Alvarado was traded to New York. Kolek is under contract for next season, and the Knicks hold a team option on his contract for 2027-28.

  • Knicks' Ariel Hukporti: Logs two minutes in Game 5 win

Hukporti totaled one rebound, one assist and one block across two minutes during Saturday's 94-90 victory over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Hukporti saw the floor for a second consecutive contest and ended the 2026 postseason averaging 1.7 points and 3.2 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per tilt across 10 appearances. The 24-year-old big man is set to be a restricted free agent this offseason after playing a limited role in his second campaign. Across 54 regular-season appearances (five starts), Hukporti averaged 2.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per showing.

  • Knicks' Miles McBride: Another scoreless showing Saturday

McBride notched zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one assist in 13 minutes during Saturday's 94-90 win over San Antonio in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

McBride logged 13 minutes Saturday night, his highest workload since Game 2. Still, the 25-year-old didn't do much with the bump in playing time and went scoreless for a third straight contest. McBride logged 41 regular-season appearances during the 2025-26 campaign, averaging a career-best 12.0 points with 2.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.2 blocks and 0.9 steals. He also shot 41.3 percent from deep, another career high. However, despite the increase in production, McBride struggled to stay healthy, missing time mostly due to a core-muscle injury that kept him off the court for a stretch of the season. All things considered, the 2021 No. 36 overall pick will be entering the final year of his contract before becoming an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027. If McBride can stay healthy and improve his statistical contributions even slightly, it may be difficult for the Knicks to retain him at a discount beyond the 2026-27 season.

  • Knicks' Jordan Clarkson: Plays minor role in Finals win

Clarkson supplied two points (1-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound over six minutes during Saturday's 94-90 victory over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Clarkson saw limited action in the championship-clinching victory, missing both of his attempts from beyond the arc while filling a depth role off the bench. The veteran guard was used sparingly throughout the series against San Antonio, appearing in four of the five contests and averaging 3.5 points across 7.5 minutes per game while shooting 37.5 percent from the field. The quiet postseason run caps off an underwhelming 2025-26 campaign for Clarkson, who served primarily as an emergency depth piece rather than a staple of New York's standard rotation. After joining the Knicks last July on a one-year, veteran minimum contract following a buyout with Utah, the 34-year-old is now set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Coming off a passive season where he struggled to command consistent minutes, the former Sixth Man of the Year will likely have to look for another bench-depth role with a contender on the open market.

  • Knicks' Jose Alvarado: Minimal impact in title clincher

Alvarado provided zero points (0-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound over 11 minutes during Saturday's 94-90 victory over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Alvarado struggled to find his stroke in the championship-clinching victory while missing all five of his field-goal attempts, but he walked away with a title ring nonetheless. The energetic backup guard operated as a minor piece of the Knicks' second-unit rotation throughout the series, averaging 4.2 points and a quiet 0.2 steals across 12.0 minutes per game in the five matchups against San Antonio. After coming over from the Pelicans at the trade deadline, Alvarado spent the final months of the season in and out of head coach Mike Brown's rotation depending on the health of Jalen Brunson. Under contract for the 2026-27 season on a team-friendly deal, the 28-year-old will head into the summer slated to resume his role as New York's primary spark-plug defender off the bench.

  • Knicks' Jeremy Sochan: Celebrates title after limited role

Sochan logged eight seconds of playing time during Saturday's 94-90 victory over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Sochan barely touched the hardwood in the final series, playing three first-half minutes in Game 4 and entering Game 5 just to watch the final clock tick down, but he walks away with a championship ring. The defensive specialist found a unique way to make his presence felt during the series, frequently seen taunting and chirping at Victor Wembanyama, his former teammate in San Antonio. It caps off a wild rollercoaster of a season for the 2022 first-round draft pick, who was waived by the Spurs in February before signing a one-year deal with the Knicks. While Sochan was completely non-existent in New York's standard rotation, his athletic traits and defensive versatility should still generate interest on the open market this summer. He will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent looking to find a franchise willing to give him consistent developmental minutes.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Title-clinching board in Game 5 win

Robinson closed Saturday's 94-90 victory over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals with two points (1-2 FG, 0-2 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists across 20 minutes.

Robinson's traditional box score numbers will not jump off the page, and his offensive limitations remained a glaring issue as he finished the championship series averaging just 3.6 points while shooting an abysmal 26.7 percent from the free-throw line. However, the 28-year-old center completely changed the complexion of Game 5 with his high-motor activity on the glass, pulling down 10 boards in just 20 minutes off the bench.None were more impactful than his final offensive rebound of the season. With the Knicks holding a slim lead and just 25 seconds remaining on the clock, Josh Hart missed a crucial free throw. Robinson immediately out-muscled the San Antonio frontcourt to snatch the live ball, resetting the possession and forcing the Spurs to foul again, effectively wrapping up the title for New York. Robinson closed a gritty postseason run averaging 5.6 rebounds (3.0 offensive) and 0.6 blocks in 13.4 minutes per game across the Finals, solidifying his role as the team's ultimate dirty-work specialist.

  • Knicks' Mikal Bridges: Bounces back in Game 5

Bridges closed with 14 points (5-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one block over 39 minutes during Saturday's 94-90 victory over San Antonio in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

After combining for only nine points in Games 3 and 4, Bridges had 14 points Saturday -- his second-highest output of the NBA Finals -- to help the Knicks capture an NBA championship for the first time in 53 years. The 2018 No. 10 overall pick had a down year offensively in 2025-26, averaging 14.4 points, 3.2 less than he had during the 2024-25 campaign. Still, Bridges' durability and contributions on both ends of the floor made him a valuable component of New York's championship run despite the scoring decline.

  • Knicks' OG Anunoby: Cools off offensively in Game 5

Anunoby contributed 11 points (3-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds, one block and three steals over 33 minutes during Saturday's 94-90 win over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Anunoby was the hero of Game 4. However, he wasn't as productive or efficient in Game 5, going 3-for-11 from the field and 0-for-2 from deep. Still, despite the subpar offensive performance, the 28-year-old was instrumental in helping the Knicks claim their first championship since 1973. As expected, Anunoby had a quality 2025-26 campaign, averaging 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.7 blocks and 1.6 steals in 67 regular-season appearances. He also shot higher than 38.0 percent from deep for the sixth time in his career. Anunoby is committed to New York for two more seasons, though it could be more if he accepts a player option in 2028-29. With that in mind, unless the Knicks get a substantial offer, he is expected to remain in the Big Apple, where he is projected to see plenty of minutes as a starter moving ahead.

  • Knicks' Landry Shamet: Moves past leg issue

Shamet re-entered Saturday's 94-90 win over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals with 26 seconds remaining after exiting the contest with 7:54 left in the fourth quarter due to an apparent leg injury.

Shamet was hobbled after a hard fall to the court and made a trip to the locker room to be evaluated, but he returned to the New York bench shortly thereafter and was able to get back on the court for two brief shifts at the end of the game. The veteran guard finished Saturday's contest with five points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt) and one rebound in 13 minutes. Overall, Shamet averaged 6.0 points, 1.5 three-pointers, 1.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists while shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 47.5 percent from downtown in 16.3 minutes per game while playing in all 19 of the Knicks' playoff games.

  • Knicks' Josh Hart: Double-doubles in Game 5 win

Hart amassed 13 points (4-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 11 rebounds and two assists in 39 minutes during Saturday's 94-90 win over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Hart closed his season with another double-double, helping New York to its first championship since 1973. Although his scoring was, unsurprisingly, inconsistent, Hart's impact was certainly a major factor for the Knicks throughout the playoffs. In 19 postseason appearances, he averaged 10.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.5 three-pointers in 32.3 minutes per contest.

... See More ... See Less
  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Struggles in Game 5 win

Towns provided two points (1-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt), 10 rebounds, one assist, one block and three steals across 23 minutes before fouling out of Saturday's 94-90 victory over San Antonio in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Towns saved his worst for last, at least from a scoring perspective. He picked up his fourth foul early in the third quarter, ultimately limiting him to just 23 minutes. Despite his offensive struggles, New York once again came from behind, securing another impressive road victory. The win sees New York land its first NBA title since 1973, and with it, a place in history. While it was certainly a rough night for Towns, he finished the postseason with averages of 15.9 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.4 three-pointers and 2.6 combined steals and blocks.

  • Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Named NBA Finals MVP

Brunson finished with 45 points (14-27 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 13-15 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals across 41 minutes in the 94-90 win over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Saturday.

Brunson erupted for 45 points in Game 5, his highest scoring performance of the 2026 postseason, leading the Knicks to their first NBA title since 1973. The 29-year-old shined during the series with the Spurs, averaging 32.6 points, 4.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals over 39.2 minutes, and he was named the NBA Finals MVP.
