Raptors' Immanuel Quickley: Held out of scrimmage Friday
Quickley (thumb) did not participate in Friday's open scrimmage, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Quickley is playing through a sprain of his left thumb and is expected to suit up for Opening Night. However, the injury may limit what the 25-year-old can do prior to the regular season, and he could miss time during the preseason if the Raptors choose to err on the side of caution.

Raptors' Jonathan Mogbo: Defensive piece for 2024-25
Coach Darko Rajakovic said Thursday that Mogbo has impressed in training camp as a weak-side help defender, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports.
Mogbo was selected with the No. 31 overall pick by the Raptors in the 2024 NBA Draft. While the rookie forward isn't slated to receive significant playing time, his defensive prowess could allow him the ability to see the floor earlier than expected.

Raptors' Chris Boucher: Improved mindset for 2024-25
Boucher (knee) has done a lot of work this offseason to ensure his mind is in the right place to start the 2024-25 campaign, Michael Grange of sportsnet.ca reports.
Boucher was reportedly upset with his role last season, averaging just 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14.1 minutes across 50 appearances, all of which were coming off the bench. While Boucher isn't necessarily slated for an increased role in 2024-25, it seems as though the 31-year-old big man is more willing to accept a depth role.

Raptors' Ochai Agbaji: Working on jumper
Agbaji (lower leg) was seen with coach Darko Rajakovic working on his hand placement for his jump shot, Esfandiar Baraheni of Forbes.com reports.
Agbaji struggled mightily with his outside shot in 2023-24, converting just 29.4 percent of his 2.7 three-point attempts per contest. If the 24-year-old forward can become a more reliable shooter, he should receive increased playing time in Toronto's forward rotation.

Raptors' Immanuel Quickley: Playing through thumb sprain
Quickley is tending to a sprained left thumb but will not miss any practice time, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Quickley wore a small brace on his left hand Wednesday as a precaution after suffering a thumb sprain in workouts prior to training camp. The 25-year-old appears mostly unfazed, but the injury is still notable in case of similar incidents in the future.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Present for practice
Poeltl (finger) worked through pick-and-roll concepts with Immanuel Quickley at Wednesday's practice, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports.
Poeltl's presence at Wednesday's practice marks his first activity since undergoing surgery on his left pinkie finger in March, which ended his 2023-24 season. Poeltl enters training camp following a smooth offseason of recovery.

Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Excused from start of camp
Barnes (personal) will not be available for the start of training camp this week, Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports.
Barnes has been granted an excused personal absence by the Raptors, so there's no cause for concern here. The point forward is expected to join the team later this week, so he'll likely be available for Sunday's preseason game against the Wizards if his conditioning is up to par.

Walter sprained his acromioclavicular joint (shoulder) during informal workouts and will not participate in on-court activities to start training camp, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
The No. 19 overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft will not be permitted to participate in on-court activities for at least a week of training camp due to the shoulder injury. However, Walter is not likely to miss any regular-season action, and the Raptors are expected to give an update on his status after one week. The 20-year-old played for Baylor in 2023-24 and averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.2 minutes per game across 35 regular-season appearances.

Raptors' Kennedy Chandler: Links up with Toronto
Chandler agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Raptors on Wednesday, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Toronto will likely waive Chandler before the preseason comes to a close, but his Exhibit 10 deal will allow the Raptors to retain his G League rights. The 22-year-old guard was a second-round draft pick in 2022 and played 36 games for the Grizzlies that season, but he didn't make any appearances at the NBA level in 2023-24.

Raptors' Bruce Brown: Undergoes arthroscopic surgery
The Raptors announced Brown underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Thursday, and he will be re-evaluated in three weeks, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports.
Brown will be re-evaluated in three weeks, meaning he is more than likely to be held out of the team's preseason opener against the Wizards on Oct. 6, and possibly beyond. The 28-year-old said that the lingering knee issue affected his play starting in December of the 2023-24 season, during which he averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists across 27.9 minutes in 67 appearances (44 starts). If Brown misses additional time, Gradey Dick (ankle) will likely pick up extra minutes and could secure the starting job.
