Nets' Mark Armstrong: Signed by Brooklyn
Armstrong signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Nets on Wednesday, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Nets' Jaylen Martin: Logs 11 points in preseason debut
Martin recorded 11 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds and an assist across 16 minutes in Tuesday's 115-106 loss to the Clippers.
Martin's future usage is unclear, as the two-way player may find his way back into the G League once the regular season is underway. He's shown flashes of production with the Long Island Nets and recorded a couple of decent performances during this year's Summer League in Las Vegas.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Plays 17 minutes in preseason loss
Thomas tallied 12 points (3-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two assists, a rebound and a steal across 17 minutes during Tuesday's 115-106 loss to the Clippers.
As is customary with most preseason games, Thomas and the rest of the first unit played sparingly. Tuesday's starting five was not a good representation of the eventual first unit as Nic Claxton (hamstring) was held out of the contest, but we did catch a glimpse of what the backcourt might look like. While Thomas is entrenched in his role at the off-guard slot, Dennis Schroder and Ben Simmons appear to be locked in battle for the other backcourt position. Claxton's absence resulted in a small-ball setup where Schroder and Simmons played alongside each other, but it will be interesting to see how both are utilized moving forward. Regardless of how things shake down, Thomas' role will be largely unaffected, and he should continue as one of the team's top producers.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Comes off bench for 14 points
Johnson recorded 14 points (5-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 21 minutes in Tuesday's 115-106 preseason loss to the Clippers.
Johnson appears destined for reserve work after his results in the G League and Summer League earned him a full-time spot. The 22-year-old guard would be in line for more minutes if Ben Simmons or Cam Thomas struggle out of the gate.

Nets' Noah Clowney: Expected to play center minutes
With Trendon Watford and Day'Ron Sharpe both sidelined by hamstring injuries, Clowney is expected to play backup minutes at center behind Nic Claxton (hamstring), Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Claxton's hamstring injury is reportedly less severe than Watford's and Sharpe's, but either way, Clowney has a clear path to consistent minutes to begin his second season in the NBA. As a rookie, Clowney made only 23 appearances, including four starts to end the regular season. Over the final six games of last season, Clowney averaged 13.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 30.7 minutes per game.

Watford will miss at least two weeks with a left hamstring strain, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Out at least six weeks
Sharpe will miss at least six weeks with a left hamstring strain, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Sharpe had been poised to enter the season as the top backup to starting center Nic Claxton, but his hamstring injury will likely keep him out until at least the second half of November. With Sharpe out of the mix, Noah Clowney could see increased run on the second unit to open the season, while Claxton's minutes floor could be higher.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Out for Tuesday
Coach Jordi Fernandez said Friday that Claxton will miss Tuesday's preseason opener against the Clippers due to hamstring soreness, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
Claxton will sit for the preseason opener, and he could be a limited participant throughout the preseason after missing Thursday's scrimmage during practice. The 25-year-old will likely be good to go for the regular season, but the Nets will see what it has for depth at the five with Day'Ron Sharpe (hamstring) and Noah Clowney before the start of the year.

Sharpe (wrist) participated in Brooklyn's practice Wednesday, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.

Williams (back/hip) was active for Brooklyn's practice Wednesday, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
Williams dealt with a lower back injury and a hip flexor strain last season with Memphis, which combined to prematurely end his campaign in March. Entering training camp healthy is notable for the 23-year-old, who will fight to carve out a rotation role with Brooklyn.

Nets' Cameron Johnson: Spotted at practice
Johnson (toe) participated in Brooklyn's practice Wednesday, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
Johnson dealt with a left big toe sprain to end the 2023-24 season, but he appears fully healthy at the commencement of training camp. He averaged 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists on 44.6 percent shooting from the field across 58 regular-season appearances last year.

Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Going through camp
Finney-Smith (knee) participated in Tuesday's practice to open training camp, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Finney-Smith missed the Nets' final five games of the 2023-24 season due to left knee inflammation, but it's widely believed that the franchise was just being cautious. The veteran posted regular-season averages of 8.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 three-pointers and 1.6 assists in 28.4 minutes across 68 appearances. With the Nets in the early stages of a rebuild, Finney-Smith is likely to hear his name in the rumor mill quite a bit.

Nets' Bojan Bogdanovic: Without a timetable
Bogdanovic (foot) said Monday that he remains without a return timetable, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
Bogdanovic said his wrist isn't really an issue anymore, but his surgically repaired foot is still on the mend. He'll be able to do some on-court stuff during training camp, but he hasn't been cleared for 5-on-5 yet. The Nets are prepared to take a cautious approach with the veteran to open the season.
