Bulls' Lonzo Ball: Active during Friday's practice
Ball (knee) was active for Friday's practice and participated in 5-on-5 scrimmages, Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Ball is expected to make his return to game action on Opening Night, and coach Billy Donovan said Ball felt good and performed well against contact Friday. The 26-year-old has not played since January of 2022, but his return to contact bodes well for his comeback.

Bulls' Lonzo Ball: Setback-free in camp
Ball (knee) is participating in training camp with no setbacks, with a continued target of Opening Night for a return to action, Evan Sidery of Forbes.com reports.
Ball appears to be on track to suit up Oct. 23 when the Bulls travel to New Orleans to kick off the 2024-25 season. While two days of training camp can yield premature optimism, Ball continuing to ramp up only bodes well for returning to the court for the first time since Jan. 14, 2022.

Bulls' Josh Giddey: Close to 100 percent
After battling an ankle sprain during the Paris Olympics, Giddey said Monday that he's close to being fully cleared, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Giddey participated in the non-contact parts of Tuesday's practice, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Giddey injured his ankle on the last play and has been sidelined since, as it was more serious than originally realized. Giddey said he will be conservative when training camp opens, and it sounds like the Bulls may hold him out of some stuff. Based on his comments, Giddey sounded on the verge of a full return soon.

Bulls' Patrick Williams: Ready for training camp
Bulls vice president Arturas Karnisovas said Monday that Williams (foot) has been cleared for training camp, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports.
Despite getting clearance for all things including contact and 5-on-5 scrimmages, Karnisovas did caution that the Bulls may hold Williams out of some stuff to bring him along slowly. Williams experienced foot discomfort during the Bulls' recent minicamp, but it sounds like he's progressing very quickly to the relief of the franchise.

Bulls' Lonzo Ball: Targeting Opening Night
Bulls vice president Arturas Karnisovas said Monday that he's hoping to have Ball (knee) cleared to play for Opening Night, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports.
The Bulls are planning to bring Ball along slowly in training camp, and he may not do live 5-on-5 scrimmages as a precaution. It's worth noting, however, that Ball has played 5-on-5 in pickup settings. There have been several positive updates on Ball's health in recent weeks which has the Bulls excited for obvious reasons. According to the point guard, he's anticipating restrictions for this season, including not playing in both games of back-to-back sets.

Liddell is part of the Bulls' roster for training camp ahead of the 2024-25 regular season, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
The Suns waived Liddell in August, but the former Ohio State standout will have a shot at competing for a roster spot with a Bulls organization that might be headed for a rebuild sooner than later. Liddell made eight appearances for the Pelicans in the 2023-24 regular season, but he was limited to just 2.9 minutes per game, as he spent most of his time with the Birmingham Squadron in the G League.
