Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Re-ups two-way deal
Toppin signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hawks on Thursday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Toppin finished out the 2024-25 campaign on a two-way deal with Atlanta, and he'll be back for 2025-26 on a fresh two-way contract. The Kentucky product spent the majority of his time in the G League with College Park, averaging 19.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals in eight appearances.

Hawks' Kobe Bufkin: Full-go for Summer League
Bufkin, who underwent season-ending surgery Jan. 7 to address right shoulder instability, has been fully cleared for Summer League, Grant Afseth of RG.org reports.
Bufkin missed the final three months of the 2024-25 season. His rookie season was sabotaged by injuries as well, with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft having just 27 regular-season appearances under his belt with the Hawks. He's likely to be a featured player for the Hawks during the Summer League, although Afseth reports that he's expected to appear in only a few games before the team shuts him down. Bufkin has a real shot at carving out a rotation role this year.

Hawks' David Roddy: Traded to Atlanta
The Rockets traded Roddy to the Hawks as part of a historic seven-team trade that became official Sunday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Roddy started the 2024-25 campaign with the Hawks and was waived Feb. 3. He also had a short stint with the 76ers on a 10-day contract, which was converted to a two-way deal, only to be waived eight days later Feb. 28. The Colorado State product ultimately landed with the Rockets on a two-way contract March 3. He'll now get a fresh start back in Atlanta. The 23-year-old played a total of 33 games during the 2024-25 regular season and averaged 4.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, shooting 45.6 percent from the field.

Hawks' Luke Kennard: Signs with Atlanta
Kennard agreed to a one-year, $11 million deal with the Hawks on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Kennard will join Atlanta after spending the past two-plus seasons with Memphis. The sharpshooter will provide the club with depth on the wing behind Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson (shoulder), Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Zaccharie Risacher. Kennard appeared in 65 regular-season outings (11 starts) in 2024-25, averaging 8.9 points, 3.3 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers while shooting 43.3 percent from downtown across 22.6 minutes per game.

Hawks' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Sent to ATL in sign-and-trade
Alexander-Walker agreed to a four-year, $62 million contract with the Hawks on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The Hawks will send a second-round pick and cash considerations back to Minnesota as part of the deal, Sam Amick of The Athletic reports. Alexander-Walker averaged 9.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists over 25.3 minutes per game during the regular season in 2024-25, and he's been available for all 82 games in back-to-back regular seasons. With the addition of Kristaps Porzingis and the retention of Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson (shoulder), Zaccharie Risacher and Onyeka Okongwu, it's unlikely Alexander-Walker will land a spot in the starting five, but he should be a key piece off the bench.
