Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Tied for 4 Nations scoring lead
Werenski picked up an assist in the United States' 2-1 loss to Sweden at the 4 Nations Face-Off on Monday.
Werenski carried the puck through the neutral zone and into the offensive zone before firing a shot on Samuel Ersson from the right face-off circle. The Swedish netminder made the save and directed the rebound toward the left circle and right onto the tape of Chris Kreider, who buried it into an open net. Werenski played a game-high 24:08, and he had six shots. He earned the game's third star for the effort. His assist was his fifth of the tournament, which tied him with Sidney Crosby of Canada for the overall scoring lead.

Blue Jackets' Charlie Elick: Finding footing with Tri-City
Elick has a goal and five points in 19 games with WHL Tri-City.
Elick's offensive production has improved since he was traded from WHL Brandon earlier in the year, where he had just seven assists in 33 games. While Elick, a second-round pick by Columbus in 2024, isn't expected to offer high-end scoring ability at the next level, he does project as a steady, defense-first blueliner.

Blue Jackets' Jordan Dumais: Back in action
Dumais (lower body) played for the first time this season with AHL Cleveland on Jan. 31 against Providence.
Dumais suffered the injury during training camp and missed almost four months of action. He has a goal and three assists over five AHL games this season, including a two-assist night versus Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Feb. 8.

Blue Jackets' Gavin Brindley: Struggling in AHL
Brindley has only one goal in his last nine games with AHL Cleveland.
Brindley starred at the University of Michigan, tallying 25 goals and adding 28 assists in 40 games in 2023-24, before inking a three-year entry-level contract. Brindley played one game at the NHL level after signing last season, logging 12:20 in the final game of the regular season, but failed to hit the scoresheet. Brindley has spent the 2024-25 campaign with AHL Cleveland, scoring five times while adding nine helpers in 28 games after missing the start of the year with a broken finger suffered during a preseason game against St. Louis.

Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Undeniable talent on display in win
Werenski delivered three assists Thursday in Team USA's 6-1 win over Finland at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montral.
Werenski's ascension into superstardom continues. Yes, he's carrying a lot of responsibility with Quinn Hughes (oblique) unable to join Team USA. But Werenski was smooth as butter in his own zone, the opposition's and in transition. And two of the helpers were primary assists on power-play snipes. Werenski's talent is undeniable.

Blue Jackets' Cayden Lindstrom: May miss rest of season
Lindstrom skated for the first time last week since undergoing a microdiscectomy to alleviate nerve pain in his back in November, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reported Wednesday.
General manager Don Waddell said that Lindstrom's recovery program is in five parts and he is in Part 3 at this time. Lindstrom, who was selected fourth overall in 2024, is slated to see a doctor next week, and if he is ready, he will be able to start skating hard, albeit with no contact. The talented Lindstrom is on track with the recovery schedule surgeons gave out after his Nov. 20 surgery. Lindstrom had 27 goals in 32 WHL games with Medicine Hat last season, missing the second half of the campaign with hand and back injuries.

Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Likely to play after 4 Nations
Fabbro (concussion) should be ready to return after the 4 Nations Face-Off, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic on Monday.
Fabbro sat out three straight games before the break, but general manager Don Waddell expects the 26-year-old blueliner to be in the lineup Feb. 22 versus Chicago. Since being claimed off waivers from Nashville on Nov. 10, Fabbro has four goals, 13 points, 46 shots on net, 96 blocked shots and 44 hits in 37 outings with the Blue Jackets while primarily skating on the top pairing with Zach Werenski.

Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Expected back after break
Jenner (shoulder) is expected to return to the lineup after the 4 Nations Face-Off, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports Monday.
Jenner hasn't played yet in 2024-25 after sustaining a shoulder injury late in training camp, but general manager Don Waddell expects the 31-year-old forward to play Feb. 22 against Chicago. Jenner still has to come off injured reserve, and assuming that happens after the break, he will be in the mix for a top-six role and could see time on the power play versus the Blackhawks. Jenner compiled 22 goals, 35 points, 155 shots on net, 74 blocked shots and 119 hits across 58 regular-season appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.

Blue Jackets' Jack Johnson: Slings assist in loss
Johnson registered an assist in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
Johnson suited up for the third game in a row as the Blue Jackets continue to toy with using seven defensemen. His playing time has been sporadic when the team goes with six blueliners, as he's battling with Jordan Harris for one spot in the lineup in those instances. Johnson is up to five helpers, 18 shots on net, 28 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 34 appearances this season, a level of production that won't be useful for most fantasy managers.

Blue Jackets' Zach Aston-Reese: Contributes helper in loss
Aston-Reese notched an assist and six hits in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
The helper was Aston-Reese's first point since Dec. 19 versus the Devils. In that time, he signed a one-year contract extension to stay with the Blue Jackets for 2025-26. The 30-year-old has had effective moments in a depth role, but a 22-game point drought is enough to keep him off the fantasy radar. He's managed 12 points, 70 shots on net, 127 hits, 40 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating through 55 appearances, mainly serving in a bottom-six role this season.

Blue Jackets' Justin Danforth: Lights lamp again Saturday
Danforth scored a goal in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
Danforth has four points over his last seven outings, and he's scored in back-to-back games. His tally gave the Blue Jackets a 2-1 lead in the first period. Danforth is up to five goals, 12 points, 59 shots on net, 76 hits and 36 blocked shots over 35 appearances. He'll likely continue to see middle-six minutes while Columbus' center depth is thin.

Blue Jackets' James van Riemsdyk: Scores in Saturday's loss
Van Riemsdyk scored a goal in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
This was his first goal since Jan. 23, though van Riemsdyk added four assists over the six games between goals. The 35-year-old winger saw just 10:00 of ice time Saturday, and it's not unusual for his minutes to be somewhat limited even though he remains listed on the second line. He's now at 11 goals, 25 points, 60 shots on net and a minus-5 rating across 49 outings this season.

Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Finds back of net again
Johnson scored a goal in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
The 22-year-old sniper got Columbus on the board late in the first period with another slick tally, as he took a feed from Zach Werenski below the faceoff circle to the left of Jonathan Quick, calmly settled the puck down and then snapped it under the goalie's outstretched glove. Johnson hasn't gone more than two straight games without lighting the lamp since early January, and over the last 15 games, he's racked up seven goals and 13 points. Saturday's goal also established a new career high for Johnson, and through 42 appearances this season, the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft has produced 17 goals and 36 points.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Busy in Saturday's loss
Merzlikins stopped 36 shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
The Blue Jackets were out-shot 40-25 on the night, and Merzlikins was especially hung out to dry in the third period as he tried to protect a 3-2 lead -- Columbus managed only four shots on Jonathan Quick while surrendering 17. Merzlikins will get a much-needed rest as the NHL pauses for the 4 Nations Face-Off, as the 30-year-old netminder has gone 0-3-1 with a 3.79 GAA and .887 save percentage while starting four straight games.

Blue Jackets' Luca Del Bel Belluz: Returns to AHL
Del Bel Belluz was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Saturday.
Del Bel Belluz will get to continue playing during the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 21-year-old center has eight points over 15 appearances at the NHL level this season. Given the injuries plaguing Columbus' center depth, it wouldn't be surprising for Del Bel Belluz to be back ahead of the Blue Jackets' Feb. 22 game versus the Blackhawks.

Blue Jackets' Mikael Pyyhtia: Demoted to AHL
Pyyhtia was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Saturday.
Pyyhtia will get a chance to keep playing in the minors while the Blue Jackets' season is paused for the 4 Nations Face-Off. Pyyhtia could be called back up after the break if Boone Jenner (shoulder) or Yegor Chinakhov (upper body) aren't ready to return to action right away.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Between pipes Saturday
Merzlikins will guard the home cage against the Rangers on Saturday, according to Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.
Merzlikins hasn't been at his best over the last three games, as the 30-year-old netminder is 0-2-1 while allowing 11 goals on 93 shots (.882 save percentage). He is 19-13-4 with a 2.96 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 36 appearances this season. Merzlikins will face the Rangers, who dropped a 3-2 decision to Pittsburgh on Friday. New York is averaging 2.96 goals per game this season, 14th in the NHL.

Blue Jackets' Jordan Harris: Nabs helper in overtime loss
Harris provided an assist and two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to Utah.
Since earning an assist Jan. 4 versus the Blues, Harris has been scratched in 11 of 15 contests. The 24-year-old defenseman has been unable to claim a regular role in the Blue Jackets' lineup, though he often plays when they suit up with seven blueliners. Harris is at four points, 13 shots on net, 19 hits, 32 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 28 appearances.
