Penguins' Ville Koivunen: Not playing Sunday
Koivunen (lower body) won't play against Nashville on Sunday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Koivunen is day-to-day and will miss at least one game after logging 13:46 of ice time in Friday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Predators. He has contributed two assists, 13 shots on net and seven blocked shots through 11 appearances this season. Danton Heinen will replace Koivunen in Sunday's lineup against Nashville.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Starting Sunday
Murashov will patrol the home crease in Sunday's Global Series matchup against Nashville in Sweden, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Murashov made 24 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Kings last Sunday in his NHL debut. He has posted a 5-2-0 record with a 1.73 GAA and a .931 save percentage through seven appearances with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. Nashville ranks 31st in the league with 2.53 goals per game this campaign.

Penguins' Joel Blomqvist: Activated and sent to AHL
Blomqvist (lower body) was activated from non-roster injured reserve and reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.
Blomqvist will get plenty of playing time with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and could find himself back in the NHL if Tristan Jarry (lower body) remains out of the lineup for an extended period. Blomqvist posted a 4-9-1 record with a 3.81 GAA and an .885 save percentage in 15 NHL games during the 2024-25 regular season.

Penguins' Rutger McGroarty: Sent to AHL
McGroarty (upper body) was activated from non-roster injured reserve and assigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.
McGroarty is ready to play after missing all of training camp and Pittsburgh's first 18 games of the season. He had one goal, two assists, 11 shots on net, five blocked shots and 12 hits in eight NHL appearances during the 2024-25 regular season. McGroarty will probably get another look with the big club at some point this campaign.

Penguins' Philip Kemp: Big game for WBS
Kemp scored two goals and added an assist in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 5-3 win over Bridgeport on Friday.
Kemp was off to an unremarkable start to the year before this big game. He's now at five points, 17 shots on net and 15 PIM over 15 appearances. The Penguins are already carrying eight healthy defensemen, so Kemp's best path to the NHL roster would be as a replacement depth option if Harrison Brunicke joins Team Canada at the World Junior Championship in December.

Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Beaten twice Friday
Silovs stopped 28 of 30 shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Predators.
Silovs has suffered overtime losses in his last two starts, as he was also between the posts in the 2-1 OT defeat against the Devils on Nov. 8. The lack of offensive support has been a factor conspiring against Silovs of late, as the Penguins have scored two or fewer goals in four of his last five starts, a span in which Silovs has gone 1-1-3 while allowing 12 goals on 151 shots faced.

Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Pots goal Friday
Malkin scored a goal in Friday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Predators.
Malkin scored the Penguins' lone goal from behind the net at the 13:49 mark of the second period. This marker snapped a seven-game goal drought for the 39-year-old playmaker, but that hasn't stopped Malkin from being productive, as he's notched at least one point in 11 of his last 13 contests. Malkin has three goals, 12 assists, a plus-5 rating and 35 shots during that 13-game stretch.

Penguins' Arturs Silovs: In goal Friday
Silovs will get the starting nod in Friday's Global Series matchup with Nashville, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports.
Silovs has been struggling of late, going 1-1-3 in his last five outings while posting a .914 save percentage. With Tristan Jarry (lower body) on the shelf, it's possible Silovs sees an uptick in starts, though youngster Sergei Murashov is considered the goalie of the future for Pittsburgh and could get the nod versus Nashville on Sunday.

Penguins' Samuel Poulin: Scores two more goals for Baby Pens
Poulin scored twice on five shots in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 5-4 shootout win over Bridgeport on Wednesday.
Poulin is up to seven goals this season, six of which have been scored in his last six games. The 24-year-old winger has added six assists, 41 shots on net and a plus-6 rating. Poulin is doing well to position himself for a potential call-up, though he's already been passed over a couple of times while the Penguins are missing three regulars from their NHL forward group.

Penguins' Thomas Novak: Opens scoring in loss
Novak scored a goal and blocked two shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Kings.
Novak opened the scoring at 8:48 of the first period. This was just his second goal of the year, though he produced a decent four assists over nine contests between tallies. The 28-year-old is up to seven points, 22 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating while filling a middle-six role.

Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Tallies on power play
Mantha scored a power-play goal on two shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Kings.
Mantha gave the Penguins a 2-1 lead in the second period, but it didn't last. He's scored in two of the last three games but has just three shots on net in that span. For the season, the winger is putting together a strong bounce-back campaign with eight goals, five assists, 30 shots on net and a plus-8 rating over 17 appearances.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Loses battle in debut
Murashov stopped 24 of 27 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Kings.
Murashov's NHL debut came down to the final 10 minutes before he allowed the game-winning goal to Kevin Fiala. As he kept the Penguins in front through the second period, Murashov might have done enough to earn more looks between the pipes moving forward. With the team's starting goaltender Tristan Jarry set to miss time with a lower-body injury, Murashov will likely occupy the backup role while Arturs Silovs sees the largest bump in playing time. Murashov remains off the fantasy radar for the time being, but that could change if he picks up a win in Jarry's absence.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Set for NHL debut
Murashov will patrol the home crease against the Kings on Sunday, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports.
Murashov will make his NHL debut in the second half of Pittsburgh's back-to-back after Arturs Silovs played in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to New Jersey. The 21-year-old Murashov has posted a 5-2-0 record with a 1.73 GAA and a .931 save percentage through seven appearances with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. The Kings sit 25th in the league with 2.73 goals per game this campaign.

Penguins' Ryan Graves: Pots goal Saturday
Graves scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Devils.
Graves needed just two games to match his goal total from 61 outings in 2024-25. The 30-year-old is up with the big club and appears to have a real chance to compete for third-pairing minutes, suiting up for both games since his Nov. 4 call-up. He's added three blocked shots and a plus-1 rating so far. Graves has topped the 25-point mark three times in his career, but his first two seasons with the Penguins saw him collect just 18 points across 131 appearances, though he can still pile up blocked shots.
