  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Activated from NFI list

Reed (toe) will be activated from the non-football injury list and practice in a limited capacity Wednesday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Reed was on the NFI list for just a couple days, after suffering a seemingly minor injury during his youth camp earlier this summer. He finished his rookie season as the team leader in catches (64), receiving yards (793), yards from scrimmage (912) and total touchdowns (10), and his success working out of the slot hints at role security even though the Packers have a deep group of pass catchers that also includes wideouts Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton. The Packers' ample depth could affect Reed's target volume as well as his playing time in two-receiver formations, but there's no doubt he'll be a regular presence and priority when the Packers have three wideouts on the field.

  • Packers' Jacob Eason: Signing with Green Bay

Eason signed a one-year deal with the Packers on Tuesday.

Eason will join Green Bay after spending time on both the Giants' practice squad and active roster last season. The 26-year-old will now spend the summer competing for the backup spot behind Jordan Love.

  • Packers' MarShawn Lloyd: Shouldn't be sidelined long

Coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Lloyd (hip) will probably miss a few days of practice but shouldn't be absent long, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Lloyd is dealing with a hip injury to begin training camp, but it sounds like the issue is only minor. The 2024 third-round pick appears well positioned to carve out a role behind Josh Jacobs early in his career, but he'll need to get back on the field and establish himself above AJ Dillon on the depth chart. Lloyd's explosiveness and versatility give him a clear path to a significant role, but he also brings ball-security concerns from his time at USC (11 fumbles on 325 touches).

  • Packers' AJ Dillon: Praised by coach at camp

Coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Dillon has arrived at camp in the best shape he's ever seen him, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

The 247-pound back has always relied on power more than speed and agility, but even by that standard he looked sluggish last season en route to 3.4 yards per carry across 178 totes. Dillon's YPC mark has dropped with each passing year since the Packers took him late in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he failed to put up fantasy-worthy numbers last season even when Aaron Jones was inactive. Jones is now gone, replaced by Josh Jacobs and third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd, but the latter is absent from early training camp practices due to a hip injury. There are perhaps still obstacles ahead, namely Lloyd, but it sounds like Dillon is off to a strong start in his quest to maintain the No. 2 spot on Green Bay's backfield depth chart. Dillon re-signed with the Packers in March on a one-year, $2.74 million contract.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Back on the field

Davis (knee) was spotted practicing Monday, Rob Demovsky of reports.

Davis missed all of Green Bay's 2023 campaign due to a torn ACL, but it now seems as if he's moved past the issue. Now that Davis has returned to full health, he's expected to compete for a depth role in the Packers' tight end room as the offseason progresses.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Coming off PUP list

General manager Brian Gutekunst told reporters that Tom (pectoral) will come off the active/PUP list and practice in a limited fashion Monday, per Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The 2022 fourth-round pick out of Wake Forest sustained a torn pectoral earlier in the offseason that held him out of Green Bay's OTAs, but it now seems as if he's moved past the issue. Tom started all 19 of the Packers' games in 2023, including their two playoff appearances, and he's expected to remain the team's top right tackle going into the 2024 season.

  • Packers' MarShawn Lloyd: Not practicing to start camp

Lloyd isn't practicing Monday due to a hip injury, Rob Demovsky of reports.

It's a suboptimal start to training camp for a rookie hoping to push AJ Dillon for backup work behind Josh Jacobs. While his 220-pound frame and 4.46 speed hint at lead-back potential, Lloyd could be brought along more slowly than a typical third-round pick after fumbling 11 times on 325 touches during his college career.

  • Packers' Jayden Reed: Should practice soon

Reed (undisclosed) is dealing with a minor injury and shouldn't be on the active/non-football injury list for long, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst told reporters Monday that Reed "tweaked something" during his youth camp this summer. The Packers' leading receiver from 2023 won't practice at the start of training camp, but it doesn't sound like there's any concern about his Week 1 status. Reed mostly worked out of the slot as a rookie and again figures to get most of his playing time inside, perhaps insulating him from competition while Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton battle for perimeter snaps.

  • Packers' Jordan Love: Won't practice without extension

Love's representatives have informed the Packers that he won't practice until he has a contract extension, Rob Demovsky of reports.

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst revealed the information Monday and said he's optimistic an extension will get done soon. In the meantime, Love is present for training camp and taking part in meetings, which suggests his absence from practice is a matter of caution more so than reflecting any frustration with ongoing negotiations. It sounds like the Packers expect to complete a deal and get Love back on the practice field soon.
