Hischier produced a goal and an assist in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Flames.
His efforts helped build a 3-1 Devils lead through two periods, but things fell apart for the home squad in the third. Hischier extended his point streak to five games with the performance, and in eight contests since Jack Hughes (shoulder) was lost for the season he's collected four goals and eight points as New Jersey's No. 1 center. Hischier needs to light the lamp one more time to record his second career 30-goal campaign.

Devils' Nico Hischier: Tallies on power play in loss
Hischier scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.
Hischier brought the Devils within a goal in the third period, but the Penguins fended them off with three goals over the final six minutes. With four goals and two assists over eight outings in March, Hischier is having a fine month. He's up to 28 goals -- one better than last season -- and has added 24 assists, 164 shots on net, 54 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating through 62 appearances. He's also earned 23 of his 52 points on the power play, making this by far his most productive campaign with the man advantage.

Hischier scored a power-play goal on five shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
Hischier has three goals and an assist over six games in March, and three of those points have come on the power play. The 26-year-old center had the first of three tallies for the Devils in the first period. Hischier is up to 27 goals, 50 points (22 on the power play), 159 shots on net, 53 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating over 60 outings. His career high of 31 goals from 2022-23 is within range this season, but a drop in assists makes it virtually impossible for him to match that year's 80-point total.

Then it's decision time for fantasy managers -- is he a 60-67 point guy after delivering in that range three times in his last four seasons. Or is Hischier the point-per-game pivot he was in 2022-23 (80 points, 81 games). We're watching that carefully, because that's a huge difference in fantasy value.
