Key (hand) has been participating in the Titans' OTAs this week, Denny Simmons of The Tennesseean reports. Key missed the Week 18 regular-season finale last season but is back to full health. The veteran edge rusher finished the 2024 season with 42 tackles (24 solo), including 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery across 17 regular-season appearances. With Harold Landry gone to New England, Key will key Tennessee's pass rush along with Dre'Mont Jones, second-round rookie Oluwafemi Oladejo and Lorenzo Carter.... See More ... See Less

Titans' Arden Key: Out for season finale
Key (hand) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. With Key out, Jaylen Harrell and Ali Gaye should get some extra reps off the edge for the Titans in the Week 18 finale. It will be Key's first missed game of the season, and he'll close out the 2024 campaign with 42 tackles (24 solo), including 11 TFLs and a career-best 6.5 sacks, 15 QB hits, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery across 16 contests. Key has one year left on a three-year, $21 million deal that carries a $9.3 million cap hit for 2025.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Logs full practice Thursday
Key (back) was listed as a full participant on Thursday's injury report, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports. Key was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's practice report due to a back injury, but it doesn't appear to be a lingering issue as he was listed as a full participant for Thursday's session. In the seven regular-season games since the Titans' Week 5 bye, Key has logged 20 tackles (15 solo), including 5.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Logs DNP on Wednesday
Key didn't practice Wednesday due to a back injury, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports. Key appears to have picked up this back injury in the Titans' Week 12 win over the Texans despite playing 83 percent of the team's defensive snaps and recording two total tackles. The veteran pass rusher almost certainly needs to upgrade to at least limited practice participation Thursday or Friday in order to suit up for Sunday's contest in Washington.... See More ... Titans' Arden Key: Logs fifth sack of season
Key finished Sunday's 23-13 loss to Minnesota with five solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks. Key and Kenneth Murray were the only two Titans to sack Sam Darnold on Sunday, with Key's taking place midway through the fourth quarter for an eight-yard loss. Key is 1.5 sacks shy from matching his career best with the 49ers in 2022. Through 10 regular-season games, Key has logged 26 tackles (20 solo), including 5.0 sacks, one pass defense, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Returns to practice Thursday
Key (back) was a full participant during Thursday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Key was held out of Wednesday's practice due to a back injury, but that doesn't appear to be an issue as he was able to participate in Thursday's session without restrictions. Key has logged 4.0 sacks through nine regular-season games, which is second most on the Titans behind Harold Landry (5.0).... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Forces critical turnover vs. Pats
Key logged two solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble during Sunday's 20-17 overtime win over New England. Key made a pivotal play during the Titans' win Sunday. He sacked Drake Maye for a seven-yard loss early in the fourth quarter, stripping the ball in the process that was picked up by Jeffery Simmons. That eventually led to a six-yard touchdown pass from Mason Rudolph to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine five plays later to give the Titans a one-touchdown lead. All 4.0 of Key's sacks during the regular season have come over the Titans' last three games.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Logs two more sacks vs. Detroit
Key recorded six total tackles (three solo), including 2.0 sacks, in Sunday's 52-14 loss to the Lions. The 28-year-old was one of three Titans to get after the quarterback in Sunday's blowout loss, taking down Jared Goff twice in the first quarter. Key has begun to heat up after a slow start to his 2024 campaign, having now recorded 17 total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, defended one pass and forced one fumble through Tennessee's first seven games. He's expected to continue starting opposite Harold Landry as part of the Titans' top edge-rushing duo for the remainder of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Past hamstring issue
Key (hamstring) was left off Tennessee's injury report Wednesday ahead of Sunday's Week 1 game against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Key tweaked his hamstring toward the end of August, and it appears he's already moved past the issue. The veteran linebacker had the best year of his career with the Titans in 2023, recording 101 total tackles, including 6.0 sacks, and defending two passes across 17 regular-season games. He's expected to line up opposite Harold Landry as the duo headlines Tennessee's pass-rush unit in 2024.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Tweaks hamstring
Key is dealing with a minor hamstring issue, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Per Wyatt, the team hopes that Key will be back in action next week. Key, who coach Brian Callahan said has solidified himself as a three-down linebacker with a solid showing in camp, reportedly recently won his appeal to overturn a six-game suspension under the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing substances, according to The Athletic. Key is projected to man a starting outside linebacker slot for the Titans opposite Harold Landry.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Facing six-game suspension
Key is facing a six-game suspension for violating the league's rules against performance-enhancing drugs, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports. It's not clear whether Key will appeal the suspension, but if it holds up, he won't be eligible to return until Week 8 against the Lions. The 2018 third-round pick out of LSU played in all 17 regular-season games for the Titans in 2023, finishing the year with 30 tackles (17 solo), including 6.0 sacks, two passes defended and two forced fumbles. If Key is suspended, Rashad Weaver and Caleb Murphy will compete for the second starting edge rusher spot opposite Harold Landry.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Posts sack in Week 16 loss
Key recorded four tackles (three solo), including one sack, and forced a fumble in Sunday's loss to Seattle. Key brought down Geno Smith and forced a fumble on Seattle's first offensive series of the contest, though the Seahawks maintained possession. The sack gave Key a total of 3.5 over his past five contests -- prior to that span, he had gone six consecutive games without logging any sacks. The veteran linebacker is just a half-sack away from tying the career-high mark he set two years ago while with San Francisco.... See More ... See Less -
Titans' Arden Key: Logs sack in win
Key recorded two total tackles (both solo), including one tackle for loss and one sack in Monday night's 28-27 win over the Titans. The sixth-year pro was one of three Titans to get to Tua Tagovailoa on Monday night, as he was sacked a total of five times. Key is on pace to have one of, if not the, best seasons of his career through 13 games, tallying 22 total tackles, including three tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks. Tennessee ranks just outside the top 10 in the NFL in sacks this season (37.0 total), and Key has been a large part of that success.... See More ... See Less -
Jaguars' Arden Key: Heading to Tennessee
Key agreed to a three-year, $21 million contract with the Titans on Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of TheScore.com reports. Key has spent time with the Raiders, 49ers and most recently the Jaguars during his five-year NFL career. He recorded 24 tackles (13 solo), 4.5 sacks and two pass breakups across 17 games with Jacksonville in 2022. In Tennessee, Key is expected to be a key part of the team's edge-rushing group, especially after the team let go Bud Dupree earlier this month.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Arden Key: Good to go
Key (foot) will be available for Sunday's matchup with the Broncos, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. Although Key was limited at practice all week, it looks like the Raiders were just erring on the side of caution. Barring any setbacks, look for him to take on his usual role providing depth on the defensive line.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Arden Key: Won't play in Cleveland
Key (foot) is inactive Week 8 against the Browns. Key has appeared in each game this season as a reserve defensive lineman, but did not see the practice field this week and will effectively take a seat. Chris Smith and Carl Nassib would be candidates to see additional snaps in his stead.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Arden Key: Placed on IR
The Raiders placed Key (foot) on injured reserve Thursday. Key suffered a broken foot during Week 9's win over the Lions. He visited Dr. Robert Anderson to receive a second opinion on the injury, but it appears as though the second-year pro received no alternatives but to prematurely end his 2019 campaign. Key will turn his focus toward making a full recovery for the 2020 season. Quentin Poling has been promoted from the practice squad to occupy Key's former spot on the 53-man roster.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Arden Key: Ready to rock Sunday
Key (knee) will play in Sunday's game against the Texans. Key missed last week's game against the Packers, but there's no doubt about his status against Sunday's AFC foe. The second-year pro only has one tackle over five games despite a consistent snap count.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Arden Key: Going to miss some time
Key suffered a strained patellar tendon in Sunday's victory over Chicago and is expected to miss "a couple weeks," Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Over the first five games this season, Key recorded just one tackle. The 23-year-old underwent shoulder surgery in the offseason but had fully recovered well before the start of training camp. In Key's absence, Maxx Crosby and Josh Mauro are candidates to see extra work.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Arden Key: Underwent offseason surgery
Key said he underwent minor offseason shoulder surgery but is now healthy, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Key hurt his shoulder in training camp last summer and played through some sort of injury during most of his rookie campaign. The 2018 third-round pick appears to be back to full strength, though, and Bair relays the defensive end reported to minicamp at 260 pounds after finishing last year at 245. There's optimism for Key in his second year after a seemingly unlucky first season in which he produced just one sack despite also having 10 quarterback hits and 30 quarterback hurries, according to Pro Football Focus. No other player with double-digit hits had less than four sacks.... See More ... See Less
