Owens recorded five tackles (three solo) and recovered a fumble in the Bears' 24-22 win over the Packers on Sunday. Owens was a non-factor through Week 11, when he had a total of three tackles. The safety moved into a regular role when teammate Elijah Hicks was injured. Once Hicks returned, Owens retained the starting job. In the last eight games, the veteran posted 46 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble. Owens is signed through 2025, and assuming he holds onto the starting role, he'll be a high-floor IDP.... Bears' Jonathan Owens: Could be rotational player
Owens is likely to be Chicago's second-string free safety behind Kevin Byard after both players were signed to a contract in March. After the Bears signed Byard to a two-year, $15 million contract, it seems likely that Owens will back up Byard at free safety. Should Owens move into a regular role at some point, he could have significant IDP value after averaging 105 tackles over the past two seasons.... See More ... See Less -
Packers' Jonathan Owens: Limited Thursday
Owens (knee) was limited in Thursday's practice. Owens was estimated as limited in Wednesday's walkthrough. He's been dealing with the knee issue for weeks but has yet to miss a game. Owens played 70 percent of the Packers' defensive snaps this season, starting in 11 of 17 appearances. He finished the regular season with 84 tackles (58 solo), three pass breakups, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery that Owens returned for a touchdown.... See More ... See Less -
Packers' Jonathan Owens: Estimated as limited Wednesday
Owens (knee) was deemed a limited participant in Wednesday's practice walkthrough. Owens has been dealing with a knee injury for more than a month, but the issue has yet to cost him any time. In fact, the starting safety has played every one of the Packers' defensive snaps since Week 13. With that in mind, it seems very likely that he'll be able to suit up for Sunday's wild-card game against the Cowboys, barring any setbacks.... See More ... See Less -
Packers' Jonathan Owens: Ready for Sunday
Owens (knee) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Bears, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Owens has been dealing with a lingering knee injury over the last couple of weeks, but it seems as if that issue won't stop him from suiting up Sunday. The 28-year-old has been all over the place for Green Bay's defense this year, and he'll look to add to his 78 total tackles on the season in a crucial Week 18 matchup against the Bears.... Packers' Jonathan Owens: Will play at Minnesota
Owens (knee) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game at Minnesota, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Packers' Jonathan Owens: Limited at practice Wednesday
Owens (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Owens has battled a knee injury for about two weeks, though he's been able to play and log every one of Green Bay's defensive snaps in both games since the issue arose. The injury hasn't seemed to slow him down, as the safety tied a season high with 12 snaps Sunday versus Tampa Bay. Unless he suffers a setback, Owens should be able to suit up this coming Sunday in Carolina.... See More ... See Less -
Packers' Jonathan Owens: Leading tackler vs. Bucs
Owens recorded 12 tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 34-20 loss versus the Buccaneers. Owens' tackle total was good enough to tie for his season high in Week 15. He's had a down year compared to last season with Houston, but he still has a nose for the ball-carrier and plays relatively well downhill. The Packers will travel to Carolina in Week 16.... Owens (knee) was a full participant in Saturday's practice and does not carry an injury designation ahead of Monday's game against the Giants, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Owens started out the week with back-to-back limited sessions but finished strong with a full practice Saturday. He's managed to carve out an every-down role for himself and has played 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps in five of his last six games. Owens has registered 53 tackles (38 solo), including 1.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one defensive touchdown in 12 games this season.... See More ... See Less -

Owens (knee) was a limited participant during practice Thursday. Owens played 100 percent of the team's snaps on defense in their Week 13 win over the Chiefs, but he picked up an injury along the way. Owens was able to sack Brett Rypien for a 10-yard loss in the first quarter, resulting in a fumble recovered by the Packers that set up a three-yard rushing touchdown by Aaron Jones. Owens took over the starting free safety role after the Packers placed Darnell Savage (calf) on injured reserve on Oct. 25, and the former has played every single defensive snap over the past two contests. Owens will look to build off his momentum in Week 10 against the Steelers.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Jonathan Owens: Notches 12 tackles in Week 10
Owens totaled a game-high 12 tackles (10 solo) in Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Giants. Owens notched his sixth double-digit tackling performance of the season. With opposing teams consistently gashing Houston's defense on the ground, opportunities to rack up tackles should remain plentiful for the 27-year-old safety moving forward.... See More ... An initial diagnosis revealed Owens suffered a dislocated wrist during Sunday's loss to the 49ers, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. While the initial diagnosis revealed a dislocated wrist, Owens' MRI results will likely provide more clarity about his status moving forward.
