The Titans hosted Davis (back) for a workout Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Davis appears to recovered from the back injury he'd been dealing with when cut by the Bears in November. The veteran guard was initially drafted by Tennessee in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he could now reunite with the team, potentially as a member of the practice squad.... See More ... Nate Davis: Cut by Chicago
The Bears waived Davis on Wednesday. Davis' disastrous tenure in Chicago will come to an end halfway through the three-year, $30 million contract he signed in March 2023. The veteran guard lost his starting job to Matt Pryor earlier this season and was a late addition to the Bears' injury report in Week 11, when he was inactive due to a back issue ahead of an eventual 19-3 loss to the Patriots. Once healthy, the 28-year-old Davis could catch on with another organization at a more team-friendly salary.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Late scratch for Week 10
Davis has been ruled out for Sunday's game against New England with a back injury. He wasn't on the Bears' Week 10 injury report, so the back issue may have cropped up following Friday's practice. Davis started at right guard in the Bears' first two games of the season, but Matt Pryor has since supplanted Davis in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Healthy inactive Sunday
Davis (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. In the second season of the three-year, $30 million deal he signed with the Bears in March 2023, Davis lost his starting role at right guard to Matt Pryor earlier this season and no longer looks to be viewed as the first guard off the bench. Instead, Bill Murray will be the Bears' choice to step in at left guard or right guard if either Teven Jenkins or Pryor is forced to exit Sunday's contest at any point.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Active but may not start
Davis (groin) is active for Sunday's game against Indianapolis. Davis aggravated his groin injury during Wednesday's practice, which limited him in Thursday's session and caused him to be a DNP on Friday. He'll be active for Sunday's game, though he could operate in a depth role and cede the starting right guard spot to Matt Pryor, according to Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic.... See More ... Bears' Nate Davis: Returns to practice
Davis (undisclosed) practiced with the starters in Tuesday's session, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. Davis was considered week-to-week with what was described as a soft-tissue issue, but the veteran guard appears to have recovered from the injury. The 2019 third-round pick is projected to serve as the Bears' starting right guard for the upcoming season.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Limited at minicamp
Davis (foot) was spotted working out in a limited fashion during Wednesday's minicamp, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports. Davis sustained a foot injury during the Bears' 2023 season finale and he is still going through the recovery process. Head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters Thursday that Davis will be the team's starting right guard heading into the 2024 season, and he expects the 27-year-old to be back at full health by the beginning of training camp.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Leaves with injury
Davis has exited Sunday's game against the Packers with a foot injury. Davis' absence will be a blow to the Bears' offensive line and leave a hole at right guard. Cody Whitehair is the likeliest candidate to step in for the Charlotte product.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Won't play vs. Panthers
Davis (ankle) is listed as out for Thursday's game versus Carolina. Davis will miss his fourth straight game in Week 10 as he continues to tend to a high ankle sprain he sustained in Week 6 versus Minnesota. Teven Jenkins, Cody Whitehair and Lucas Patrick project to continue to man the interior of Chicago's offensive line in Davis' absence.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Won't play Sunday
Davis (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders. Davis was held out of practice all week after suffering an ankle sprain during Chicago's Week 6 loss to the Vikings, so it's no surprise that he's not suiting up Sunday. Teven Jenkins could kick over from left guard to start at right guard in Davis' stead.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: X-ray comes back negative
An X-ray on Davis' right ankle Sunday came back negative, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports. Davis had to be carted to the locker room after hurting his ankle in the first quarter Sunday against Minnesota, so the negative X-ray is at least a positive sign. Bears coach Matt Eberflus indicated after the contest that the team should receive more info on the guard's injury Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Will not start
Davis (personal) will not start Sunday against the Chiefs, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Davis is active but the fourth-year pro will only be available as a backup. Ja'Tyre Carter should get the start at right guard in his place.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Ready for Week 3
Davis (personal) did not appear on the Bears' injury report Wednesday. Davis appears to be back with the team after missing Sunday's 27-17 loss to Tampa Bay due to personal reasons. The 26-year-old will return to his role at starting right guard in Week 3 versus the Chiefs.... See More ... See Less -
Bears' Nate Davis: Back at practice Wednesday
Davis (ankle) participated in practice Wednesday at OTAs, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports. Davis ended the 2022 campaign on injured reserve due to an ankle injury, but that didn't prevent him from landing a three-year, $30 million deal with the Bears in free agency. He was still rehabbing to begin OTAs, but his return to practice Wednesday suggests he shouldn't have any limitations heading into training camp. Davis is slated to be the Bears' starting right guard in 2023.... See More ... See Less
