Commanders' Jonathan Allen: Activated off IR, will play Sunday
The Commanders activated Allen (pectoral) from injured reserve Saturday, and he carries no injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Allen suffered a torn left pectoral muscle during the Commanders' Week 6 loss to the Ravens. Allen (pectoral) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Allen has been recovering from a torn left pectoral muscle he suffered Week 6. The veteran defensive tackle was designated to return from injured reserve this Wednesday, but he'll miss at least another game as he aims to return for Week 17 or 18. Allen recorded 15 tackles (13 solo), including 2.0 sacks, across the first six games of the season.

Allen, who has been recovering from a torn left pectoral muscle sustained during Week 6, will have 21 days to be evaluated at practice without counting against the 53-man roster. He can be fully activated at any point during that stretch, meaning Allen could tentatively retake the field as early as Sunday versus the Eagles, depending on his recovery progress. John Keim of ESPN.com reports, though, that while Allen's injury wasn't as bad as initially feared, his best chances of returning in the regular season will come Week 17 or Week 18.
