Vikings' Aaron Jones: Garners 16 total touches in loss
Jones rushed 13 times for 48 yards and secured three of six targets for 12 yards in the Vikings' 27-9 wild-card loss to the Rams on Monday night. He finished the 2024 regular season with 255 carries for 1,138 yards and five touchdowns, a 51-408-2 line on 62 targets and five fumbles (three lost) across 17 games.
Jones didn't look encumbered by the quadriceps injury he'd been dealing with since the Week 17 win against the Packers, but his opportunities were limited by game script. The veteran's modest final numbers somewhat belied the fact he was a very good fit overall in his first Vikings season, as Jones' rushing yardage total was a new personal best, and his receiving yardage tally was the second highest of his career. Jones is due to hit unrestricted free agency when the new league year begins in March after playing 2024 on a one-year, $7 million deal, but there may be mutual interest in a return to Minnesota.

Jones (quadriceps) doesn't have a designation for Monday's wild-card game against the Rams.
Jones is tending to a quad injury that has lingered since he exited the Vikings' Week 17 win against the Packers in the second half. He was able to suit up this past Sunday at Detroit and turned 15 touches into 75 yards from scrimmage. With an illness going around the RB room -- Ty Chandler showed up on Friday's report but doesn't have a designation for Monday's contest, while Cam Akers is listed as questionable due to an ailment -- Jones could be a true workhorse in Minnesota's playoff opener if either or both of his position mates are compromised. As for Jones, the oft-injured back played a full slate for the third time in his eight-year career in 2024, reeling off 1,546 yards from scrimmage and seven total TDs on 306 touches in 17 regular-season contests.

Jones (quadriceps) was a limited practice participant Friday.
Jones played through the same injury during last week's loss to the Lions, taking 15 touches for 75 yards while playing 62 percent of snaps on offense. He'll likely play again Monday against the Rams in Glendale Arizona, having managed limited practice participation Thursday and Friday.

Jones (quadriceps) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
For a second week in a row, Jones is enduring practice restrictions due to a quad injury. During Monday's loss at Detroit, he still handled 62 percent of snaps en route to 15 touches for 75 yards from scrimmage, while backup RB Cam Akers had a 31 percent snap share and eight touches for 69 total yards, most of them on a 58-yard rush. Jones will have two more chances to log a full session this week before the Vikings potentially tag him with a designation for Monday's wild-card contest at the Rams.

Vikings' Aaron Jones: Goes for 75 yards in Week 18
Jones rushed 10 times for 45 yards while catching five of six targets for 30 receiving yards in Sunday's 31-9 loss to the Lions.
Jones turned in moderate fantasy numbers despite his team wearing this one on the chin. The long-time Packer was able to set a new career high in rushing yards (1,138) in his first year playing with the Vikings. The 29-year-old also produced one of his better receiving seasons after recording 51 receptions and 423 yards in 17 starts with his new club. Jones will draw a favorable matchup in the wild-card round of the playoffs when the Vikings face the Rams' 22nd-ranked rush defense next Monday.
