Williams was released with no injury designation by the 49ers on Tuesday. The defensive tackle left the 49ers' preseason game against the Saints on Aug. 18 with a knee injury. The veteran is now free to sign with another team after recording 32 tackles for the Chargers in 2023.... See More ... See Less

49ers' Nick Williams: Exits game with knee injury
Williams left in the first half of Sunday's game against the Saints due to a knee injury and is questionable to return, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Williams was able to walk off the field under his own power after sustaining the injury. He signed with the 49ers on Wednesday after spending last season with the Chargers, finishing with 32 tackles (16 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and two fumble recoveries over 14 regular-season games. Williams is competing for a depth spot at defensive tackle behind starters Maliek Collins and Javon Hargrave.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nick Williams: Out Sunday
Williams (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Broncos. Williams began the week as a nonparticipant at practice and closed the week as a limited participant. Although he was trending in the right direction, the defensive tackle will ultimately sit out. In his absence, Morgan Fox is expected to get an opportunity to start on Los Angeles' interior defensive line.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nick Williams: Ready to play Saturday
Williams (shoulder) is active and will play Saturday against the Bills. The Chargers cut Sebastian Joseph-Day earlier this week, so expect Morgan Fox, Williams and Austin Johnson to all rotate as interior defenders against a rugged Bills rushing attack.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Nick Williams: Inactive Thursday
Williams (shoulder) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Raiders. Williams started the week on the injury report, practiced fully Wednesday and then reappeared on the injury report Thursday. Morgan Fox and Scott Matlock should see more snaps in his absence.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Nick Williams: Done for season
Coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday that Williams (biceps) won't play for the remainder of the 2022 season, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Williams sustained a biceps injury in Week 8 at Seattle, and that injury will apparently keep him sidelined for the rest of the year. In his absence, veteran Justin Ellis should see significantly more work at defensive tackle.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Nick Williams: Signs with Giants
Williams signed a contract with the Giants on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Williams started all 17 games with the Lions last season, registering 27 tackles including a half-sack while also deflecting a pass. He will now provide an additional veteran presence to the Giants' defensive line.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Nick Williams: Active against San Francisco
Williams (COVID-19 list) is active Sunday against the 49ers. Williams was activated from the COVID-19 list earlier this week and will be part of the active roster for the season opener, though it remains to be seen just how big of a role he'll have. The veteran defensive end notched 23 tackles (12 solo) through 14 games with the Lions last season, and it's possible his role grows heading into the 2021 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Nick Williams: Downgraded to out
Williams (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Packers. Williams entered the weekend as questionable, but he's officially been downgraded. The Lions elevated Kevin Strong from the practice squad as depth, while John Penisini is expected to start at defensive tackle in this divisional matchup.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Nick Williams: Questionable against Packers
Williams (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Packers, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports. Williams was limited all week in practice. The 30-year-old DT played 63 percent of the team's defensive snaps in Week 1, so his absence would hurt the Lions' run-stopping abilities. If he is ruled out Sunday, expect rookie sixth-rounder John Penisini to slot into a starting role.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Nick Williams: Hampered by shoulder
Williams (shoulder) was limited during Wednesday's practice, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports. Williams played 41 of 65 defensive snaps (63 percent) in Week 1's loss to the Bears, and he may have picked up this shoulder injury in that time. There shouldn't be an immediate concern about his availability for Sunday's contest against the Packers since he's still on the field, but rookie John Penisini will be prepared to fill in if Williams can't go.... Chiefs' Nick Williams: Records two tackles Week 1
WIlliams recorded two tackles (one solo) against the Chargers in Week 1. Williams hasn't had much success in his career, but, if Week 1 is any indication, 2016 could be his best. He had just nine tackles since being drafted in 2013, all of which came last season. He's one of the primary backups at defensive end in Kansas City and will likely continue to see a mild number of snaps each week.... See More ... See Less -
Falcons re-sign Patrick DiMarco, Cliff Matthews
The Falcons re-signed fullback Patrick DiMarco and defensive end Cliff Matthews, the team announced on Tuesday. DiMarco was an exclusive-rights free agent, and Matthews was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March. DiMarco had 17 catches for 111 yards and a touchdown in two seasons with the Falcons. Matthews has appeared in 32 games, mainly on special teams, in four years with the team. The Falcons also brought in WR Nick Williams, a former Redskin.... See More ... See Less -

Hemingway was previously ruled out on the team's final injury report. Fleming had been listed as probable to play in Week 13.
