Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Wednesday that Quero will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Quero suffered the injury in Triple-A Nashville's first game of the season while diving back into first base on a pickoff attempt. His rehab from surgery is expected to take around nine months, so Quero should be ready for the start of spring training. The 21-year-old was added to the Brewers' 40-man roster last offseason after posting a .779 OPS with 16 home runs at Double-A Biloxi in 2023.... See More ... See Less

Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Dealing with shoulder subluxation
Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Monday that Quero has been diagnosed with a right shoulder subluxation, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Quero suffered the injury in Triple-A Nashville's first game of the season Friday while diving back into first base on a pickoff attempt. Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Suffers apparent shoulder injury
Quero was removed from Triple-A Nashville's game Friday with an apparent shoulder injury, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports. The 21-year-old suffered the injury diving back to first base on a pickoff attempt and subsequently exited the contest. The specifics of the injury are unclear, but it's a discouraging development for Quero in the first game of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Bumped to 40-man roster
The Brewers selected Quero to their 40-man roster Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Quero would have been eligible for the Rule 5 Draft had he not been added to the 40-man roster ahead of Tuesday's deadline, and considering he's viewed as one of the organization's top catching prospects, Milwaukee unsurprisingly opted to protect him. The 21-year-old backstop could open the 2024 season at Triple-A Nashville after holding his own at Double-A Biloxi in 2023, slashing .262/.340/.443 with 16 home runs, a 10.2 percent walk rate and a 17.8 percent strikeout rate.... Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Makes return to Double-A squad
Double-A Biloxi reinstated Quero (hand) from the 7-day injured list Wednesday. Quero is expected to step back in as Biloxi's No. 1 backstop after he hadn't played for the club since July 21 due to a left hand injury. The 20-year-old slugged 13 home runs and hit .289 in 268 plate appearances with Biloxi prior to landing on the shelf.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Jeferson Quero: On fire at Double-A
Quero is hitting .432 with three home runs, seven walks and five strikeouts over his last 10 games with Double-A Biloxi. The 20-year-old catcher is hitting .289/.367/.498 with a 10.8 percent walk rate and a 17.9 percent strikeout in 57 games as the fifth-youngest qualified hitter at Double-A. Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Cruising at Double-A
Quero went 3-for-5 with three home runs and five RBI in a game with Double-A Biloxi on Tuesday. The 20-year-old reached the Double-A level for the first time this season, and after getting off to a slow start he has found his groove, posting a 1.164 OPS while tallying six long balls and 14 RBI over his last 13 games. Opinions on his future outlook vary to some degree, but he is one of the better catching prospects around the league and the top backstop prospect in Milwaukee's system.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Shakes off shoulder injury
Quero (shoulder) has gone 2-for-15 with a solo home run and a walk in four games since returning to the High-A Wisconsin lineup. Quero was sidelined for just over a week with right shoulder soreness but never required a trip to the 7-day injured list. He's been able to make two of his four starts at catcher since returning to action, so the shoulder doesn't appear to be affecting him when he throws.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Promoted to High-A
Quero was promoted to High-A Wisconsin on Monday. Quero earned a trip to the next level by posting a respectable .746 OPS over 75 games with Single-A Carolina and punctuating that run with a sizzling 16-for-36 (.444) stretch. Quero will not turn 20 until October yet is already considered the best catching prospect in the Brewers system.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Healthy at Low-A
Quero (shoulder) has appeared in three games for Low-A Carolina, going 5-for-12 with a double, triple, walk, four runs and four RBI. Quero has picked up one start as a designated hitter and two at catcher, with his usage behind the dish indicating that he's made a full recovery from the surgery he required last fall to address a separated left shoulder. The Brewers' top catching prospect is in the midst of his first year of full-season ball after he played exclusively in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League in 2021.... See More ... See Less
