  • Senators' Fabian Zetterlund: Signs three-year contract

Zetterlund inked a three-year, $12.825 million contract with Ottawa on Thursday, according to PuckPedia.

Zetterlund was dealt to the Senators from San Jose at the trade deadline after potting 17 goals and 19 assists in 64 regular-season games with the Sharks. Zetterlund was not a big offensive producer after the trade, generating two goals and three assists in 20 regular-season contests and was held without a point in six playoff appearances against Maple Leafs. He should slot into a middle-six role next season as well as seeing power-play time on the second unit.

  • Senators' Lassi Thomson: Headed back to North America

Thomson signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators to return to North America, the team announced Sunday.

Thomson spent last season in the SHL with Malmo, scoring 17 goals and adding 12 assists in 50 games, but he's on his way back to North America. The 24-year-old has played 18 games in the NHL with five assists to his name, but none since the 2022-23 season. The 2019 first-round pick will look to crack a crowded Senators blue line with six other players already under contract.

  • Senators' Tyler Kleven: Inks two-year deal

Kleven signed a two-year, $3.2 million contract with Ottawa on Monday.

Kleven registered four goals, 10 points, 78 shots on net, 97 blocked shots and 105 hits across 79 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He added two assists in six playoff outings. The 23-year-old defender will likely occupy a depth role with the Senators in 2025-26 while seeing ice time on the third pairing.

  • Senators' Luke Ellinas: Signs entry-level contract

Ellinas signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Ottawa on Tuesday.

Ellinas registered 20 goals and 17 assists in 50 regular-season appearances for OHL Kitchener in 2024-25. He added eight tallies and 16 points in 14 playoff outings. The Senators chose the 19-year-old forward with the No. 104 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Ellinas could be back for another OHL campaign in 2025-26.

  • Senators' Nick Jensen: Has surgery Monday in New York

Jensen had a procedure in New York on Monday to address a lower-body injury, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

According to Garrioch, the surgery went "as planned" for Jensen, but it's unclear how long the 34-year-old blueliner's recovery will take. However, Jensen relayed during the team's exit interviews that he was "hopeful" he would be ready for the start of training camp in September. Jensen should play a meaningful role in the top four again in 2025-26 for a Senators club that made the postseason in 2024-25 for the first time in eight years, provided that he doesn't suffer any setbacks in his recovery this summer. The Minnesota native did not record a point in six games against Toronto in the first round of the 2025 postseason but managed 20:55 of ice time per game, an impressive feat considering he was dealing with a lingering injury.

  • Senators' Nikolas Matinpalo: Inks two-year extension

Matinpalo signed a two-year, $1.75 million contract extension with the Senators on Monday.

After appearing in just four games with Ottawa during the 2023-24 campaign, Matinpalo made 41 appearances for the Senators this year, logging a goal, three assists, 29 blocked shots, 25 hits and 20 PIM while averaging 12:37 of ice time. He'll be under contract with the team for two more years and should have an opportunity to continue his development during that time.

  • Senators' Nick Jensen: Hopes to be ready for camp

Jensen (undisclosed) will talk to his doctors about a game plan for his injury and hopes to be ready for training camp, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports Saturday.

Jensen was "grinding a bit to get through (the injury)" during the playoffs. He dealt with a lingering lower-body issue during the 2024-25 campaign but didn't confirm that was the problem during Saturday's media availability. Jensen could have surgery in the offseason, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia. The 34-year-old Jensen had three goals, 18 assists, a plus-18 rating, 55 hits and 95 blocked shots across 71 regular-season contests.

  • Senators' Brady Tkachuk: Dealing with hip injury

Tkachuk played through a hip injury and an upper-body issue during the first round of the playoffs, Claire Hanna of TSN reports Saturday.

Tkachuk sustained the hip injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off, but he feels he could recover from the problem in a couple of weeks. He also wasn't quite recovered from an upper-body injury he suffered against Pittsburgh on March 30, per Hanna. However, it wouldn't be surprising if Tkachuk was ready for training camp in the fall. He registered 29 goals, 55 points, 296 shots on net, 228 hits and 123 PIM across 72 appearances during the 2024-25 regular season. Tkachuk added four goals and seven points in six playoff outings.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Outplayed in Game 6 loss to Leafs

Ullmark made 19 saves in a 4-2 loss to Toronto in Game 6 on Thursday. He allowed three goals.

He'd like the first one back for sure. Auston Matthews beat a screened Ullmark on a soft wrist shot from above the left circle. The veteran netminder was sharp in some games and outplayed in others. The latter was true Thursday night. Ullmark finished the postseason with a 2-4-0 record with one shutout, 2.84 GAA and .880 save percentage.

  • Senators' David Perron: Solid effort in playoffs

Perron scored a goal Thursday in a 4-2 loss to Toronto in Game 6.

Perron's shot from below the goal line in the second half of the third period banked in off of Anthony Stolarz's helmet. The goalie was out of position after a missed poke check. Perron had missed almost half of the season due to injury, but he looked great when the calendar flipped to the playoffs -- he had two goals and one assist in that span. He's signed through 2025-26, and he will provide the Sens with some solid secondary scoring as they work to improve their standing in 2025-26.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: Two apples in Game 6 loss

Chabot delivered two assists Thursday in a 4-2 loss to Toronto in Game 6.

Chabot stepped up in his first postseason, delivering one goal, three assists and 11 shots in six games. He averaged just shy of 25 minutes of ice time (24:58) and delivered seven blocks, seven shots and four hits. The 28-year-old Chabot has three years on his $8 million AAV contract, and he'll be instrumental for the Sens as they take that big step forward in the next couple of seasons.

  • Senators' Brady Tkachuk: Ends season on five-game streak

Tkachuk scored a goal in a 4-2 loss to the Maple Leafs on Thursday in Game 6.

Tkachuk got Ottawa on the board at 7:28 of the second period when he tipped Thomas Chabot's point shot past Anthony Stolarz. He finished the postseason on a five-game, seven-point scoring streak (four goals, three assists). Despite the loss, fans in Ottawa chanted his name after the final buzzer. Tkachuk's leadership will deliver impressive results for both the fans and fantasy managers alike over the next few years.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Starting Game 6

Ullmark will guard the home goal in Game 6 versus the Maple Leafs, per TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Ullmark earned the first playoff shutout of his career in Game 5, getting the Senators back within one in the series. He has a 2.80 GAA and an .883 save percentage over five playoff outings. Ullmark will look to keep the Senators' season alive in this contest as they try to fend off elimination for a third time.
