  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Dealing with new hamstring injury

Rodgers will be limited in practice Wednesday due to hamstring, knee and ankle injuries, but his availability for Sunday's game against the Patriots isn't expected to be impacted, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, that Rodgers' hamstring "flared up" during last Sunday's 37-15 loss to the Steelers, noting that the injury may have hampered to veteran quarterback's ability to scramble on some plays. New York is hosting a walk-through practice Wednesday, so Rodgers' ability, or lack thereof, to practice Thursday and Friday will be more telling as to his health for Week 8. Rodgers and the 2-5 Jets are staring down a must-win divisional matchup against 1-6 Patriots on the road Sunday.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Full practice participant

Rodgers (ankle) was a full practice participant Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Rodgers has been banged up in recent weeks, but he's yet to miss a game and will make another start Sunday night in Pittsburgh. New Jets wideout and old friend Davante Adams (hamstring) was also a full practice participant Thursday and should be ready by Sunday night.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Not participating in walk-through

Rodgers (ankle) isn't slated to participate in Wednesday's walk-through practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. That said, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich noted that Rodgers is on track to play Sunday against the Steelers, with the quarterback thus likely to practice fully by the end of the week. Meanwhile, star wideout Davante Adams (hamstring) -- whom the Jets obtained in a trade with the Raiders on Tuesday -- is slated to be listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walk-through and is expected to play this weekend. Rodgers suffered a left low-ankle sprain in the third quarter of the Jets' Week 5 loss to the Vikings in London, but he proceeded to take every snap on offense in Monday's loss to the Bills while completing 23 of 35 pass attempts for 294 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Adds/Streamers (QB Preview)

I don't love the matchup against the Steelers, but I do believe there is a legitimate chance that Rodgers is a top-12 QB rest of season now that Davante Adams is on the team. Rodgers has played a terribly difficult schedule that gets much easier in the second half, and he's still thrown multiple touchdown passes in four of his last five games.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Week 7 Waiver Priority List

Rodgers got the trade he and the Jets were hoping for with Davante Adams going from Las Vegas to New York for a conditional third-round pick that could become a second-rounder based on performance. Rodgers now has Adams and Garrett Wilson at receiver, which is awesome, and Breece Hall, Allen Lazard and Tyler Conklin will continue to make plays as well. Rodgers has a tough matchup in Week 7 at Pittsburgh, but after that he gets New England, Houston, Arizona and Indianapolis before a bye in Week 12. He should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues, and Rodgers is worth adding for 10 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Tosses for two scores in loss

Rodgers completed 19 of 25 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 23-20 loss to the Bills. Rodgers played well in the Jets' first game since firing head coach Robert Saleh and changing the offensive playcaller from Nathaniel Hackett to Todd Downing, but New York came up just short due to two missed field goals from Greg Zuerlein and numerous costly penalties on the offense. After tossing a five-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson in the first quarter, Rodgers delivered his best play as a Jet to give the team a spark on the final play of the first half, connecting with Allen Lazard for a 52-yard Hail Mary touchdown. The Jets moved the ball well in the second half as Rodgers came six yards shy of his first 300-yard passing performance since Week 14 of the 2021 season, but they failed to build a lead and eventually ran out of chances when Mike Williams fell down on Buffalo's game-sealing interception. The desperation level will be high for Rodgers and the 2-4 Jets against the Steelers next Sunday.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Limited by ankle Friday

Rodgers (ankle) remained limited in practice Friday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Rodgers has registered back-to-back limited practices as the Jets prepare for Monday's pivotal home game against the Bills, the winner of which will be in first place in the AFC East. He's dealing with a low-ankle sprain, but Rodgers may be over the hamstring issue that also has been bothering him, as it wasn't listed on Friday's injury report. He'll try to upgrade to full participation Saturday in an effort to avoid an injury designation.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: QBs to Sit

As of Wednesday morning, the Jets had not traded for Davante Adams, which is clearly a situation to monitor. We'll see if a deal gets done this week, but I would only start Rodgers in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues against the Bills. The Jets are in turmoil after firing Robert Saleh on Tuesday, and while they might end up being a good thing in the long run, I don't expect that to help Rodgers against the Bills. Buffalo has allowed just one quarterback to score more than 17.9 Fantasy points this season, which was Lamar Jackson in Week 4, including matchups with C.J. Stroud, Kyler Murray, and Trevor Lawrence. Rodgers has scored more than 19 Fantasy points just once this season in Week 3 against New England, and he combined for 27.4 Fantasy points in his past two outings against Denver and Minnesota. Rodgers should improve if Adams is added, and we'll adjust our outlook for him moving forward if a trade actually occurs.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Ankle injury not overly concerning

Head coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Rodgers' sprained left ankle will be examined further, but the Jets have been encouraged by all the preliminary evaluations of the injury, Ethan B. Greenberg of the team's official site reports. Rodgers is tending to a low-ankle sprain, which he appeared to sustain when he took a big hit on a third-down incompletion with 6:11 remaining in the third quarter of Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings. However, after a roughing the punter penalty extended the Jets' drive, Rodgers returned to the field for the next offensive play, and he ended up playing all 71 snaps in the loss while completing 29 of 54 attempts for two touchdowns, three interceptions and 244 yards. Though Saleh's comments suggest that Rodgers will be good to go for next Monday's game against the Bills, the veteran quarterback's practice participation still could be managed leading up to the contest.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Cleared for takeoff in London

Rodgers (knee) isn't listed on Friday's injury report and will start Sunday's game against the Vikings in London, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Rodgers was banged up in the Jets' Week 4 loss to Denver but didn't miss any snaps in that game and returned to full practice participation Thursday, suggesting he was never truly in danger of sitting out against Minnesota. Confirmation of his availability Friday will spare Rodgers' fantasy managers the headache of getting up early to check on his status before Sunday's 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Limited in practice

Rodgers (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, but head coach Robert Saleh said he's "not concerned" about the quarterback's availability Sunday against Minnesota, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The prior expectation was that Rodgers would be a full practice participant, but some limitations to start the week shouldn't threaten his availability for the game in London this Sunday. He's been getting treatment for a swollen knee after mentioning that both of his legs hurt during Sunday's 10-9 loss to Denver.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: QBs to Sit

Rodgers played great against the Patriots in Week 3 with 25 Fantasy points, and he's now scored at least 19.1 Fantasy points in two games in a row. But Denver is actually a tough matchup, and the Broncos have yet to allow a quarterback to pass for 175 yards or multiple touchdown passes in a game this season against Geno Smith, Justin Fields and Baker Mayfield. I would only start Rodgers in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues in Week 4.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Throws two TDs in Week 2 win

Rodgers completed 18 of 30 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns while rushing twice for one yard in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Titans. Rodgers relied on his running backs, throwing a touchdown pass apiece to Breece Hall (26 yards) and Braelon Allen (12 yards) while also watching Allen run in a game-winning 20-yard touchdown with less than five minutes remaining. The veteran quarterback's stats don't jump off the page, but Rodgers did enough to get the Jets in the win column heading into Thursday's home opener against the Patriots. Rodgers has yet to reach 200 passing yards in a game with the Jets.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Rusty in return

Rodgers completed 13 of 21 passes for 167 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Monday's 32-19 loss to the 49ers. He also rushed once for minus-1 yard. Rodgers had just 64 passing yards in the first half, 62 of which came on a 12-play, 70-yard touchdown drive on the Jets' third possession, which was capped by a three-yard Breece Hall touchdown run. The veteran quarterback was picked off on a tipped ball on the Jets' first drive of the second half, but Rodgers bounced back with a 36-yard touchdown pass to Allen Lazard on a free play on the following drive. New York couldn't get any closer, though, and Tyrod Taylor mopped up with a touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter after the game got out of reach. Overall, Rodgers gave the Jets two vintage drives and looked like a 40-year-old quarterback coming off an Achilles tear the rest of the game. Perhaps he'll sustain a higher level of play longer once he settles in, and Rodgers should benefit from facing the Titans in Week 2 rather than a vaunted 49ers defense coming off a Super Bowl appearance.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Not playing Saturday

Rodgers and other starters aren't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. As expected, given previous reports that Rodgers wouldn't play this preseason. His first game appearance since suffering an Achilles' tear will come Week 1 at San Francisco on Monday Night Football, against a defense led by DE Nick Bosa, LB Fred Warner and CB Charvarius Ward. The Niners may start off without two of their better defensive players from last year, as LB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles) and S Talanoa Hufanga (ACL) are still on the PUP list heading into the final week of August.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Unsure about playing past 2024

Rodgers said Monday on Pardon My Take that he likes the idea of playing two more seasons but isn't yet sure about anything beyond 2024, Henry McKenna of FOX Sports reports. Rodgers mentioned wanting to play at least two more years after he was traded to the Jets last offseason, but he couldn't anticipate at the time that his first campaign would last just four snaps. He came back from an Achilles' tear and participated in a majority of the team's practices this spring, with the exception being an absence for June minicamp that the Jets were informed of ahead of time. Rodgers is back with his teammates for the start of training camp, leading an offense that made some big changes this offseason -- namely the additions of tackles Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses and Olu Fashanu to protect the veteran quarterback, as well as wideouts Mike Williams (knee) and 2024 third-round pick Malachi Corley.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Skipping minicamp

Rodgers (Achilles) is missing June minicamp for an unspecified event, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The absence technically is unexcused, though Rodgers informed the Jets well ahead of time. That means he can be fined by the team, which apparently is a price he's willing to pay to attend his event. Head coach Robert Saleh didn't seem bothered by the absence, perhaps because Rodgers was at a number of voluntary practices this spring. The 40-year-old quarterback seems to have avoided setbacks in his recovery from the torn Achilles' tendon he suffered last September and should be a full participant for the start of training camp in late July.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Won't be limited in OTAs

According to coach Robert Saleh, Rodgers will have "no restrictions" when the Jets begin their OTA practices May 20, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports. After suffering a torn left Achilles four snaps into his first season with the Jets, Rodgers underwent surgery to address the issue Sept. 14. While the veteran signal-caller didn't see any game action prior to the conclusion of the 2023 campaign, he did practice on a limited basis down the stretch. With that in mind, it's not surprising that the 40-year-old is on track to practice in full during phase three of New York's OTAs later this month. When it comes to his supporting cast this coming season, Tyrod Taylor is slated to serve as the team's No. 2 QB, top running back Breece Hall is further removed from the ACL tear that derailed his 2022 season, and the team's wideout corps has been fortified by free-agent addition Mike Williams (knee) and 2024 third-rounder Malachi Corley. Still, Rodgers' fantasy upside hinges on whether he's able to avoid any setbacks as he looks to regain his pre-injury form.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Hopes to play multiple more seasons

Rodgers (Achilles) recently told the Look Into It Podcast that he hopes to play 2-4 more years in the NFL, per John Breech of CBS Sports. Rodgers hinted at a multi-year commitment when he was traded to the Jets last offseason, with his contract supporting that notion via full guarantees for his compensation in 2023 and 2024. He famously played just four snaps in the first season before tearing his left Achilles' tendon, and he was unable to return even with an aggressive rehab plan. Rodgers did practice with the Jets toward the end of the season -- including as the first-team QB in Week 18 -- but wasn't able to resume sprinting at full strength before the conclusion of the campaign. He previously mentioned wanting to play two more years beyond 2023, and even in the recent podcast interview he acknowledged he'd need "good fortune" to make it three or four more seasons. Rodgers turned 40 in December and should be back at full strength for the start of the Jets offseason program this spring.

  • Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Coming off IR, but won't play

Head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that the Jets plan to activate Rodgers (Achilles) from injured reserve, but the veteran quarterback won't be cleared to play for any of the team's final three games of the season. for the veteran QB to continue to practice as part of his injury rehab process. Though Rodgers will be added back to the 53-man roster for the first time since Week 1, he'll likely be inactive now that New York has been eliminated from playoff contention. The Jets are activating Rodgers solely for the purpose of allowing him to continue practicing with the team as part of his rehab process for his surgically repaired left Achilles' tendon. Saleh has yet to confirm a starting quarterback for this Sunday's game against the Commanders, but if Zach Wilson is unable to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, Trevor Siemian would be in store for his first start with the Jets.
