Sieler made 55 tackles (28 solo), including 10.0 sacks, across 15 regular-season appearances with the Dolphins in 2024. He also had two passes defensed, including one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Sieler has now logged back-to-back seasons with exactly 10.0 sacks, despite some concerns that the offseason departure of Christian Wilkins (foot) would impact his ability to efficiently rush the passer. The 29-year-old is one of Miami's few true defensive standouts, so although the team has a potential 'out' on a contract that has two years remaining, the Dolphins will be incentivized to figure out a way to keep Sieler in house.... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Notches another sack in Week 16 win
Sieler recorded four tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's 29-17 win against San Francisco. Sieler brought down Brock Purdy on the first play of the second quarter to extend his streak of games with at least one sack to three. Pushing that out further, the veteran pass rusher has recorded 6.5 sacks over his past six contests. Sieler needs 1.5 sacks over Miami's final two regular-season games to tie the career-high mark of 10.0 sacks he established last year.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Boosts sack totals vs. Jets
Sieler racked up four tackles (two solo) and 2.0 sacks during Sunday's 32-26 win over New York. Sieler has now brought his sack total to 6.0 through 11 games this season, with four of those sacks having come in his last four appearances. It will bode well for the Dolphins' fringe chances of making a playoff push if Sieler can keep up his momentum down the stretch, especially during Sunday's must-win road matchup against Houston.... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Limited Friday
Sieler (orbital) was a limited practice participant Friday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Sieler broke his orbital bone during practice in late October, which has caused him to be sidelined for the Dolphins' last two regular-season games. He's opened this week with consecutive limited practices, and Saturday's injury report will indicate Sieler's chances of playing against the Rams on Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Fractures orbital bone
Sieler broke his orbital bone in practice this week and is set to undergo more tests to determine if surgery is required, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. Head coach Mike McDaniel said earlier Friday that Sieler wouldn't play in Sunday's game against the Cardinals, but Wolfe's report clarified the nature of his injury. Expect Da'Shawn Hand to start opposite Calais Campbell while Sieler is sidelined for at least Week 8.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Ruled out for Week 8
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that Sieler (eye) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals and that a timetable for his return remains undisclosed, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Sieler could be in danger of missing more than one game due to an eye injury sustained during practice. The versatile defensive lineman is a key contributor for Miami, and his absence Sunday figures to make life easier for Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray, especially in scrambling situations.... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Career-high 10.0 sacks in 2023
Sieler tallied 63 tackles (32 solo), including 10.0 sacks, one interception that he returned for a touchdown, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries across 17 regular-season games with the Dolphins in 2023. Sieler had never previously surpassed 3.5 sacks in a season, but he managed to thrive in defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's scheme. He remains under contract with Miami for the next three seasons, though the team does have a potential 'out' after the 2024 campaign. As long as the Dolphins retain Christian Wilkins this offseason, he and Sieler will once again combine to form one of the NFL's most formidable interior duos along the defensive line next season.... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Third straight game with sack
Sieler finished Sunday's 56-19 loss to the Ravens with five tackles (three solo), including one sack, and a forced fumble. Sieler got to Lamar Jackson late in the first quarter that led to a Baltimore punt two plays later. He also forced his first fumble of the season when he stripped Gus Edwards on a run early in the third quarter. After totaling 10 sacks in his first six seasons, Sieler has erupted for 9.5 sacks on the year and has a chance to reach double-digits in Miami's Week 18 contest against Buffalo.... See More ... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Inks three-year extension
Sieler and the Dolphins agreed to a three-year extension worth up to $38.65 million Sunday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel Reports. Furones notes that the deal includes $20 million guaranteed. Sieler was claimed off waivers by Miami in December of 2019 after being waived by the Ravens. He's started in every game for the Dolphins since 2020 and recorded career highs last year in tackles (70) and forced fumbles (two) while matching a career-high with 3.5 sacks. He's formed a formidable duo with defensive lineman Christian Wilkins -- who has sat out of team drills while dealing with a contract dispute of his own -- and the extension ensures that the Dolphins will have at least one of their core interior lineman on the books for the foreseeable future.... Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Nabs another sack
Sieler recorded five tackles (three solo) and one sack in Saturday's loss to Buffalo. Sieler recorded half of a sack in Week 13 against San Francisco, and he made it to the quarterback again Saturday to bring down Josh Allen. Sieler now sits with 58 tackles (35 solo), four passes defended and two forced fumbles through 14 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Will play Sunday
Sieler (ankle/thumb) is officially active for Sunday's tilt against the Patriots. Despite practicing in just a limited fashion throughout the week, Sieler will suit up for the season finale. With Taco Charlton (ankle) sidelined, along with Avery Moss, Sieler could see a slight uptick in snaps for the contest.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Listed as questionable
Sieler (ankle/thumb) has been given a questionable tag for Sunday's season finale against the Patriots, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports. This designation for Sieler is unsurprising, as he practiced in limited fashion all week. If he ends up being unable to go, look for Avery Moss to handle the majority of the defensive end depth responsibilities.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Healthy scratch Week 14
Sieler (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Jets, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports. Sieler joined the Dolphins off waivers Tuesday. He could have the opportunity to play a depth role on the defensive line down the stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Ravens' Zach Sieler: Jumps to active roster
The Ravens promoted Sieler to the active roster Saturday. Sieler only played in two games with the Ravens last year after they took him in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He's spent the first four games of this season on the Ravens' practice squad, but he'll now add depth for Sunday's game versus the Steelers since Brandon Williams (knee) is questionable....
