The 29-year-old is one of Miami's few true defensive standouts, so although the team has a potential 'out' on a contract that has two years remaining, the Dolphins will be incentivized to figure out a way to keep Sieler in house.

Sieler brought down Brock Purdy on the first play of the second quarter to extend his streak of games with at least one sack to three. Pushing that out further, the veteran pass rusher has recorded 6.5 sacks over his past six contests. Sieler needs 1.5 sacks over Miami's final two regular-season games to tie the career-high mark of 10.0 sacks he established last year.

Sieler broke his orbital bone during practice in late October, which has caused him to be sidelined for the Dolphins' last two regular-season games. He's opened this week with consecutive limited practices, and Saturday's injury report will indicate Sieler's chances of playing against the Rams on Monday.

Furones notes that the deal includes $20 million guaranteed. Sieler was claimed off waivers by Miami in December of 2019 after being waived by the Ravens. He's started in every game for the Dolphins since 2020 and recorded career highs last year in tackles (70) and forced fumbles (two) while matching a career-high with 3.5 sacks.
