Williams (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Williams suffered the injury Week 1 and has been sidelined since. He'll now have a 21-day window to practice with the team before needing to be placed back on the 53-man roster. However, if he's healthy enough, he could return as soon as Sunday against the Bears. The Alabama product was signed to a two-year, $30 million contract in free agency to anchor the right side of the Cardinals' offensive line, so his potential return should be a significant boost for Arizona.

Bengals' Jonah Williams: Participating in camp
Rotowire
Williams (kneecap) participated in the first week of Bengals training camp, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
After a February knee surgery, a March trade request and a position switch to right tackle, Williams is entrenched with the Bengals' first-team offense during the early stages of camp. The former left tackle has started all 42 games he's played in over three NFL seasons. With Orlando Brown now at that position, Williams should play on the other side if he remains healthy for 2023.

Bengals' Jonah Williams: Requests trade Friday
Rotowire
Williams (kneecap) requested to be traded from the Bengals on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Following the team's signing of Orlando Brown on Wednesday, Williams wants out of Cincinnati. The offensive tackle has made 47 career starts at left tackle and seemingly appears to want to stay in that role moving forward. The 25-year-old would instantly become the best tackle available on the market if he does get set free.
Williams recently underwent surgery to address the dislocated kneecap he suffered during Cincinnati's wild-card matchup versus Baltimore on Jan. 15, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Per Rapoport, Williams is expected to be fully cleared before June, at which point he'll begin working toward retaining his starting left tackle spot for 2023.
