Player Outlook
Before finishing as WR32 per game in PPR last season, Hill was an elite Fantasy option for seven consecutive years. Now he is better left for Round 3 or later of a 12-team league as he looks to bounce back. Even if we only consider 11 games with Tua Tagovailoa, Hill was on pace for just 87 catches, 1,073 yards, and nine touchdowns on 134 targets. That's solid, but a far cry from two straight seasons of more than 1,700 yards. What happened? Was it his age (he is 31 years old now), his preseason wrist injury, or Miami's change in offensive philosophy (shorter passes to running backs and tight ends)? Whatever the reason, it all added up to Hill being one of the biggest busts in Fantasy last season. There are reasons for optimism. We've seen great wide receivers have huge seasons at age 31 (Jordy Nelson, Keenan Allen, and Mike Evans come to mind). His wrist should be healthy, and Miami could always go back to throwing deep balls to Hill. Plus, he was Miami's preferred end zone option in 2024 with nine more end zone targets than any other player. At his age, you can't ignore the possibility that he is in decline. However, if Hill is back to his old self and Tagovailoa stays healthy, Hill could be Fantasy gold.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Catches passes at minicamp

Hill (wrist) participated in individual receiving drills during the first day of mandatory minicamp Tuesday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports. Hill didn't participate in team drills, but it was a positive sign to see him catching passes for the first time since undergoing a pair of offseason wrist surgeries. The 31-year-old remains on track to be fully cleared closer to training camp. After tallying over 1,700 receiving yards in the 2022 and 2023 campaigns with a combined 19 receiving TDs between them, Hill regressed to the tune of an 81-959-6 receiving line in 2024 despite suiting up for all 17 regular-season games. Hill could be a bargain in 2025 fantasy drafts if he can bounce back to something resembling his prior form, but the days of him being a candidate to lead the league in receiving yards may be behind him.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Not catching passes yet

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday that Hill (wrist) is not ready to take part in catching drills at OTAs, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports. Hill has undergone two surgeries on his left wrist this offseason, and he said after Wednesday's practice that both wrists have bothered him, per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, but the right side has been most bothersome and required a protective brace. Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reports that the 31-year-old wideout is participating in most drills other than catching and blocking, while McDaniel has previously stated that the Dolphins are expecting Hill to return to full strength closer to training camp in July. Injuries and an offense focused more on short-area throws to De'Von Achane and Jonnu Smith than downfield looks resulted in both Hill and Jaylen Waddle significantly regressing in 2024, sending both tumbling down 2025 fantasy draft boards. As long as Hill continues to not infrequently fall outside the top-12 drafted wide receivers he will carry undeniable fantasy upside, though there's serious risk that even with his wrist at full health he never again approaches production similar to the back-to-back 1,700-yard seasons he logged with Miami in 2022 and 2023.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Undergoes another procedure

Hill posted on his Snapchat account Wednesday that he had a procedure to remove screws from his left wrist, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Hill previously had surgery on the wrist in question earlier this offseason. The original injury stemmed from a joint practice with the Commanders last August, but the veteran wide receiver played through the pain en route to an 81-959-6 line on 123 targets across 17 regular-season games. Each of those marks equated to campaign lows since joining the Dolphins in 2022, and his TD total matched a career low since he was selected in the fifth round of the 2016 Draft. Coach Mike McDaniel said in February that Hill likely won't resume football activities until "around summertime going into training camp," so there appears to be a good chance that he misses the entire offseason program in May and early June.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Miami not pursuing trade

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that the team is not currently considering trading Hill (wrist), Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Grier noted that Hill, who is recovering from wrist surgery, has been present at team facilities during the early portion of the offseason and is working with new wide receivers coach Robert Prince, per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. He dismissed the idea that team was actively looking to trade the veteran wideout by saying the organization would "consider it" for the unrealistic return of "two first-rounders," Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports. Things appeared fractured enough between Hill and Miami by the end of the 2024 season that a parting of ways seemed inevitable, but the 31-year-old has since made public efforts to mend fences. After surpassing 1,700 receiving yards in each of the prior two campaigns, Hill was limited to an 81-959-6 line across 17 regular-season appearances last year, enduring both a nagging wrist injury and quarterback difficulties.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Recovering from wrist surgery

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Tuesday that Hill is recovering from left wrist surgery he underwent to address a ligament issue, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Hill was listed on the injury report for much of the 2024 campaign with a 'wrist' designation, which helps on some level to explain his decline in production. He delivered an 81-959-6 receiving line across 17 regular-season games, a notable decrease after he'd exceeded 1,700 receiving yards in each of the prior two years. The veteran wideout pulled himself from Miami's finale against the Jets in Week 18, saying "I'm out," but he recently reframed those comments as mere frustration, saying "I don't want to go nowhere," per Louis-Jacques. Hill should be able to catch a football over the summer as he recovers from the surgery, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Still committed to Miami?

Hill's agent Drew Rosenhaus said Thursday that the wideout is still "committed to this Dolphin football team" despite his saying "I'm out" after Miami's loss to the Jets in Week 18, Eric Edholm of NFL.com reports. Rosenhaus said Hill "had an excellent meeting with [general manager] Chris Grier and [head coach] Mike McDaniel," after he appeared to remove himself from the Dolphins' regular-season finale early, playing just 40 percent of offensive snaps. Across 17 regular-season games in 2024, Hill compiled just a 81-959-6 receiving line on 123 targets, his first time failing to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark since 2019. He remains under contract with Miami through the 2026 campaign, but after saying "it was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what's best for my career" following the team's loss to New York, it seems clear that Hill is open to, if not actively looking for, a change of scenery. Rosenhaus' comments may simply be an effort to make a potential offseason trade more achievable for the Dolphins.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Just two catches in season finale

Hill (wrist/illness) caught two of three targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 32-30 loss to the Jets. Hill finished a disappointing season on a sour note, with the star receiver falling just short of 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since an injury-shortened 2019 season. The 30-year-old was listed as questionable heading into the finale while nursing both an elbow injury and an illness and missing all of the team's practices leading up to Sunday's loss. According to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, Hill sat out the entire fourth quarter and was non-committal regarding his future in Miami following the game, telling media in the locker room that "it was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what's best for my career." The statement was an interesting one from Hill, considering that his current contract runs through the 2026 season. That being said, the Dolphins could use the talented Hill as a big trade piece this offseason if the front office decides to move the receiver, if that is indeed what he wishes.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Questionable after Friday's DNP

Hill (wrist/illness) didn't practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Hill has been no stranger to the injury report in the second half of the season, though it's a bit worrisome that he was unable to practice at all just one day after being a full participant Thursday. The star wide receiver likely will do all he can to play Sunday because the Dolphins can make the playoffs with a win and a Denver loss to Kansas City. Tua Tagovailoa (hip) is listed as doubtful, but Hill showed good chemistry with backup quarterback Tyler Huntley in the Week 17 win over the Browns, as they connected for nine catches and 105 yards.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Logs full practice Thursday

Hill (wrist/rest) was a full practice participant Thursday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Hill was listed as a limited participant at practice Wednesday while he continues to manage a wrist issue, but his full participation Thursday paves the way for him to be available for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets. The star wideout is likely to be on the receiving end of passes from Tyler Huntley, who appears to be trending toward a second straight start in place of Tua Tagovailoa (hip).

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Limited in practice Wednesday

Hill (wrist/rest) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Hill's limitations were presumably maintenance-related, as he's dealt with the wrist issue for much of the season without missing a game. In the Dolphins' Week 17 win over the Browns, Hill played 88 percent of the snaps on offensive and finished with a 9-105-0 receiving line on nine targets. He was working with Tyler Huntley as his quarterback in that game, and head coach Mike McDaniel suggested that Huntley is trending toward a second straight start in Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Jets with normal starter Tua Tagovailoa still dealing with a hip injury.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Efficient route to century mark

Hill (wrist) corralled all nine of his targets for 105 yards in Sunday's 20-3 win over the Browns. Hill showed no ill effects from his lingering wrist injury en route to his third game of the campaign recording 100 or more receiving yards in Sunday's casual victory. The speed demon used his sure hands to nick and cut the opposition to a strong fantasy line on his most efficient showing to date in 2024. Hill will be geared up for a crucial regular-season finale against the Jets next Sunday as Miami fights for its playoff life.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Likely to play in Week 17

Hill (wrist), who is questionable for Sunday's matchup against Cleveland, is expected to suit up, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The wrist issue is a lingering one for Hill, but he's yet to miss a game because of it, and he looks set to take the field once again Sunday. However, his outlook is hazy in part due to the expected absence of Tua Tagovailoa, who is officially doubtful to play due to a hip issue. Rapoport notes that No. 2 wideout Jaylen Waddle (knee) isn't likely to suit up either, which could lead to the Browns focusing more of their attention on Hill. If things go the way they seem to be trending, the Dolphins passing attack Sunday will consist of Tyler Huntley at quarterback, with Hill and Malik Washington leading the team's wideout corps and tight end Jonnu Smith playing a significant role as well.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Questionable after limited practice

Hill (wrist) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. It would be surprising if Hill doesn't suit up, as he has been playing through a wrist issue for weeks. He was limited in all three of Miami's practices during the week, with rest provided as a secondary reason for his limitations alongside the wrist injury. Hill made a concerted effort to participate in every practice to work on his rhythm with Tua Tagovailoa after Hill attributed his recent problems with drops to a preponderance of veteran rest days in practice. Tagovailoa's listed as questionable due to a hip injury, but the quarterback's also unlikely to sit out since the Dolphins are still mathematically in playoff contention.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Limited on practice estimate

Hill (wrist/rest) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's practice estimate, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Hill also logged a limited listing this past Friday before approaching Sunday's win over the 49ers with a questionable designation. Unlike fellow wideout Jaylen Waddle (knee), Hill was active for the contest and finished with three catches for 29 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. Hill isn't reported to be dealing with any setbacks with his wrist coming out of the Week 16 contest, so his listed limitations Wednesday may well have been maintenance-related.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Catches Tua's only TD pass

Hill (wrist/personal) had three receptions on seven targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-17 win over the 49ers. Hill was a limited participant in practice this week while tending to a personal issue in addition to a bum wrist. The speedy wideout overcame both roadblocks in order to suit up for a Dolphins squad that was without the services of Jaylen Waddle (knee) on Sunday. Hill didn't post the kind of volume managers may have expected with his running mate sidelined to injury, but he salvaged his performance by catching Miami's only passing touchdown on the day. With 834 receiving yards and just two games remaining on the schedule, Hill is in danger of failing to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since an injury-shortened season back in 2019.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Active versus 49ers

Hill (wrist/personal) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the 49ers. Hill, who continues to manage a wrist injury, didn't practice Wednesday, worked fully Thursday, and then finished the week with a limited listing Friday before heading into the weekend carrying a 'questionable' designation. With fellow starting WR Jaylen Waddle (knee) inactive, Hill should be busy Sunday, barring any in-game setbacks. Meanwhile, Malik Washington figures to see an expanded role in Waddle's absence, with River Cracraft and Erik Ezukanma rounding out Miami's Week 16 wide receiver corps.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Listed as questionable for Sunday

Hill (wrist/personal) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers after logging a limited practice Friday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Hill, who didn't practice Wednesday, worked fully Thursday, but following Friday's limited listing and corresponding Week 16 game status, the wideout's availability now is worth monitoring closely as Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff approaches. With fellow wideout Jaylen Waddle (knee) doubtful for the contest, Malik Washington and River Cracraft are the healthiest options Miami currently rosters at the position.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Returns to full practice

Hill (wrist/rest) was a full practice participant Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Hill has been playing through the same wrist injury for most of the season without missing a game. He caught just two of seven targets for 36 yards in a 20-12 loss to Houston last week, after briefly flashing his 2022-23 level of production Weeks 13 and 14 (16 catches for 198 yards and two TDs). The real question for Miami at wide receiver is Jaylen Waddle, who suffered a knee injury Sunday and hasn't practiced since.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Limited to two receptions Sunday

Hill brought in two of seven targets for 36 yards in the Dolphins' 20-12 loss to the Texans on Sunday. Hill was unable to take advantage of the fact Jaylen Waddle exited the game with a knee injury in the first half and didn't return, finishing with his lowest catch and yardage totals since Week 7 and 10, respectively. Hill's target total was also his sparsest since the latter contest, and he saw a two-game touchdown streak come to an end. The veteran speedster also was the intended target down the right sideline on Tua Tagovailoa's game-sealing interception, a fitting ending to a disappointing afternoon. Hill's first opportunity to bounce back comes in a Week 16 home matchup against the 49ers.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Turns in full practice

Hill (wrist) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Hill's practice reps were capped Wednesday, but he was likely just limited for maintenance purposes while he manages a lingering wrist issue. The injury won't affect his availability for Sunday's game in Houston and shouldn't affect his playing time either, as Hill has logged at least three-quarters of the Dolphins' offensive snaps in all eight games since a Week 6 bye.
