Draft Scouting Report
Tai Felton is a reasonably tall, somewhat lanky inside-out receiver with enough speed to threaten vertically on a fairly regular basis. He tracks the football well over his shoulder but doesn’t possess the pure deep speed to consistently separate. However, he forces most cornerbacks to push their speed limit when defending him on the outside. His snap at the top of comeback routes is a plus, though he’s not as crisp when making lateral cuts.
Physicality can disrupt him early in routes, but he does an adequate job fighting through it without getting completely knocked off track. After the catch, his vision is more impressive than his wiggle or suddenness. While he won’t be a major YAC weapon, he battles through contact and competes hard against defenders. His contact balance is lacking, but he shows solid bounce after the catch for a receiver with his leaner frame.
Felton’s hands are inconsistent, with a few too many drops on film, though he does a serviceable job securing catches in traffic downfield. There’s no one standout trait in his game, but his versatility allows him to align anywhere in an offense. He’s a well-rounded, high-effort receiver who will maximize his potential, even if he lacks truly dynamic physical tools.

- 40-yard dash: 4.37 seconds
