Top Blues News

  • Blues' Nick Bjugstad: Set for five-day absence

Bjugstad (upper body) will be out of action for the next five days, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports Wednesday, which means he will be out for the Blues' next three games.

Bjugstad was injured against Boston on Tuesday and will now be facing about a week out of the lineup. In Bjugstad's stead, the team signed Robby Fabbri to a two-way contract and will insert him into the lineup versus the Predators on Thursday. For his part, Bjugstad has struggled offensively this year with just five points in 25 appearances. Don't be surprised to see Bjugstad land on injured reserve, given his recovery timeline.

  • Blues' Pavel Buchnevich: Sets up both goals in loss

Buchnevich notched two assists and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins.

Buchnevich finally earned his first multi-point effort of the season. He's on a four-game point streak and has three goals and six assists over his last 10 outings in one of his best stretches of the campaign. The 30-year-old is at 16 points, 51 shots on net, 19 hits and a minus-11 rating over 31 appearances, but he may be worth considering again now that he looks to have turned things around.

  • Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Lands on injured reserve

Kyrou (lower body) was designated for injured reserve Wednesday.

Kyrou was previously labeled week-to-week, so his shift to injured reserve shouldn't come as a surprise. At this point, it seems likely that the 27-year-old winger will be out through the Christmas break, though he hasn't been officially ruled out that long. In order to bolster their forward group in Kyrou's absence, the Blues signed Robby Fabbri to a two-way contract Wednesday.

  • Blues' Robby Fabbri: Inks two-way deal

Fabbri inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Blues on Wednesday. He's expected to join the team in Nashville on Thursday.

It remains to be seen if Fabbri will make his season debut against the Predators on Thursday, but it wouldn't be surprising if he gets into a couple of practices before drawing into the lineup. When he plays for St. Louis, it will probably be in a bottom-six capacity. Fabbri had eight goals and 16 points in 44 appearances with Anaheim during the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Blues' Robert Thomas: Ends goal drought Tuesday

Thomas scored two goals, including one on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins.

Thomas opened the scoring with a slap shot at the 5:27 mark of the first period to give the Blues the lead on the power play. He'd later equalize in the early stages of the third period, but the Bruins would go on to score three unanswered goals to pull away for good. With this two-goal performance, Thomas, who now has six goals on the season, snapped a six-game drought. He hadn't lit the lamp since tallying a power-play goal in a Nov. 26 loss to the Devils.

  • Blues' Joel Hofer: Tagged with loss Tuesday

Hofer stopped 26 of 30 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Hofer lost a start for the first time since Nov. 24, when he allowed three goals in a 3-2 defeat against the Rangers. The 25-year-old netminder had allowed just two goals on 80 shots faced across his previous three appearances (two starts). On the season, Hofer has a 3.18 GAA, an .891 save percentage and a 4-6-2 record in 15 outings.

  • Blues' Nick Bjugstad: Won't finish contest

Bjugstad (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Bruins.

Bjugstad was injured in the second period. He logged two hits, two blocked shots and two PIM in 7:31 of ice time prior to his exit. If he misses time beyond Tuesday, Hugh McGing would likely get into the lineup for a Blues team that is suddenly getting thin up front due to injuries.

  • Blues' Joel Hofer: Tending twine Tuesday

Hofer will patrol the home crease against Boston on Tuesday, per Lou Korac of NHL.com.

Hofer is coming off a 41-save performance in Saturday's 2-1 win over Ottawa. He has a 4-5-2 record this season with two shutouts, a 3.11 GAA and an .893 save percentage through 14 appearances. Boston sits 10th in the league this campaign with 3.13 goals per game.

  • Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Deemed week-to-week

Kyrou (lower body) is week-to-week and won't play against Boston on Tuesday.

Kyrou will miss at least one week, but he could be out for longer than that. He sustained the injury in Saturday's 2-1 win over Ottawa and sat out Sunday's 4-3 victory against Montreal. Kyrou has produced eight goals, 16 points, 69 shots on net and 12 blocked shots through 28 appearances this season. Mathieu Joseph and Nick Bjugstad have received increased roles during Kyrou's absence.

  • Blues' Hugh McGing: Summoned from minors

McGing was recalled from AHL Springfield on Monday.

McGing has four goals and six points in 18 minor-league appearances this season. He will be an option for Tuesday's game against Boston, but it's unclear if he will be in the lineup. McGing's promotion from the AHL may not bode well for the availability of Jordan Kyrou (lower body) for Tuesday's contest.

  • Blues' Pavel Buchnevich: Scores again Sunday

Buchnevich scored a goal in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.

Buchnevich put the Blues ahead 3-2 at 1:05 of the second period. The 30-year-old continues to stay warm on offense with three goals and four assists over his last nine outings. He's now at five goals, 14 points, 49 shots on net and a minus-11 rating through 30 contests, but his recent play should be helping him get back into fantasy managers' good graces.

  • Blues' Dylan Holloway: Racks up three points in win

Holloway scored a goal on four shots, dished two assists, added three hits and blocked three shots in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.

Holloway earned his first multi-point effort of the season in a big way. He had a point in each period, and his first-period helper on a Brayden Schenn goal came on the power play. Over the last nine games, Holloway has three goals and five assists, so he appears to be getting back on track. For the season, the 24-year-old forward is up to eight goals, 17 points (three on the power play), 67 shots, 77 hits, 22 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating through 30 appearances.

  • Blues' Brayden Schenn: Two goals, helper in win

Schenn scored twice on three shots, dished an assist and added five hits in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.

Schenn's first goal was on the power play at 8:57 of the first period. He set up a Dylan Holloway tally in the second, and Holloway returned the favor on Schenn's game-winner midway through the third. This was Schenn's first multi-point effort since Oct. 13 versus the Canucks. The 34-year-old has just six goals and 13 points through 30 outings this season, though he's earned seven points over his last nine games. On the year, he also has 42 shots on net, 67 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-14 rating.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Gives up three goals in win

Binnington stopped 23 of 26 shots in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.

While not at his best, Binnington did enough in this contest to get back in the win column after losing his last two outings. Two of the three goals against Binnington came in the first period. He's now 7-7-5 with a 3.29 GAA and an .875 save percentage across 20 appearances this season. Binnington has been starting two of every three games lately, so he seems likely to get the nod at home versus the Bruins on Tuesday, especially since he's coming off a win.

  • Blues' Vadim Zherenko: Massive in Sunday's win

Zherenko stopped 45 of 46 shots in AHL Springfield's 3-1 win over Providence on Sunday.

Zherenko put up a huge effort to secure his fourth win of the season. He's at a 3.10 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 14 outings, his best numbers in three years. Still, the 24-year-old is unlikely to see NHL time unless one of Jordan Binnington or Joel Hofer gets hurt.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Sunday starter

Binnington will start Sunday's game against the Canadiens, Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Binnington's last start went poorly, as he allowed five goals in a loss to the Bruins on Thursday. With the Blues on the back end of a back-to-back Sunday, he'll get a chance to rebound against the Canadiens. The 32-year-old has a 6-7-5 record with a 3.30 GAA and an .874 save percentage on the season. The Canadiens enter the game scoring 3.22 goals per game, eighth in the NHL.
