Kneeland (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Kneeland has missed six of the Cowboys' last seven games after undergoing knee surgery in early October. His full practice participation Thursday indicates that the rookie second-round pick should be available to play Monday against the Bengals, barring any setbacks.... See More ... See Less

Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Unlikely to play against Giants
Kneeland (knee) did not practice Wednesday and is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against the Giants, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Kneeland returned from a five-game absence due to a knee injury this past Sunday against the Commanders, and he finished the contest without recording a tackle across 17 defensive snaps. However, he was unable to participate in any walkthroughs or practices this week, and it's unlikely that he'll play in Thursday's NFC East clash. If Kneeland is inactive, Tyrus Wheat and Carl Lawson would serve as the Cowboys' rotational defensive ends behind starters Micah Parsons and Chauncey Golston.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Activated off IR
The Cowboys activated Kneeland (knee) from injured reserve Saturday, and he is expected to play against the Commanders on Sunday, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Kneeland suffered a partially torn meniscus in his knee during the Cowboys' Week 5 win over the Steelers, which required him to undergo surgery and be placed on injured reserve. His 21-day practice window opened Wednesday, and after logging limited practices all week, he was activated off IR on Saturday. Kneeland could see limited snaps on defense Sunday while working his way back up to game speed following a five-game absence.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Window opens
Kneeland (knee) has been designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports. Kneeland suffered a partially torn lateral meniscus in early October and had a four- to six-week recovery timeline. With six weeks now passed, the Western Michigan product appears to be on the verge of returning. He will have a 21-day window to practice with the team before needing to be placed back on the active roster, however, he could return as soon as Sunday against the Commanders, if he's healthy enough to do so.... Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Undergoes imaging
Kneeland (knee) is waiting for MRI results Monday to determine the severity of the injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Steelers, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports. Kneeland was carted to the locker room in the first quarter after suffering the injury and was unable to return. With Dallas already down DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) and possibly Micah Parsons (ankle) for Week 6, any missed time for the Western Michigan product could be a significant blow to the Cowboys' defensive front.... Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Suffers knee injury
Kneeland (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Steelers, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. Kneeland suffered a knee injury on the Steelers' first possession of the game, putting his status for the rest of the contest in question. Kneeland stepped into a starting role in Week 5 with Micah Parsons (ankle) unavailable, and Carl Lawson may be the next man up in Kneeland's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Cleared to play Sunday
Kneeland (calf) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against New Orleans and is expected to play, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Kneeland progressed throughout the practice week, going from a DNP on Wednesday to limited Thursday and then full Friday. He recorded three tackles (two solo) and a pair of QB hits in the Week 1 win over the Browns while playing 58 percent of the Cowboys' defensive snaps.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Practices Thursday
Kneeland (calf) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Joe Hoyt of AllDLLS.com reports. Kneeland opened the week as a DNP on Wednesday due to a calf issue, but he was able to participate in a restricted capacity Thursday. His participation during Friday's practice will provide clarity on his status ahead of Sunday's game against New Orleans. The rookie second-round pick registered three tackles (two solo) and one pass defended in the Cowboys' Week 1 victory over the Browns.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Logs DNP
Kneeland (calf) did not practice Wednesday, Joe Hoyt of AllDLLS.com reports. Kneeland played 42 defensive snaps in his NFL debut Week 1 against the Browns. However, it appears the rookie picked up an injury along the way that will keep him sidelined Sunday. He'll work to get back on the practice field Thursday or Friday, as the team preps for Sunday's game against the Saints.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: In line for bigger role
Kneeland is the top candidate to take on a bigger role in the Cowboys' pass-rush rotation with Sam Williams (knee) out for the season, Patrik Walker of the team's website reports. "I've got to step up. I've gotta be ready, that much more, and take all of it seriously. ... I've got to step it up a notch," Kneeland said Tuesday. "It's still the same mindset, helping the team out as much as possible, but now I know there's more on my back." A second-round pick in the 2024 Draft, Kneeland didn't produce big numbers in college at Western Michigan but has a strong athletic profile that should allow him to handle snaps both inside as a 3-technique and on the edge of the defensive line. Williams' injury could push the rookie to the outside more than originally expected, however. Kneeland could wind up as a better run-stopper than pass rusher, but he has a couple of excellent mentors in DeMarcus Lawrence and assistant coach Greg Ellis, who recorded 84.0 sacks in a 12-year career spent mainly in Dallas....
