Spillane is in line to sign with the Patriots, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Spillane led the Raiders in tackles over the past two seasons, starting all 17 of the team's regular-season games in both years. Now, the reliable inside linebacker is positioned to bolster New England's defense, a unit in serious need of a top tackler to anchor it. In new head coach Mike Vrabel's defensive scheme, Spillane remains a strong candidate to repeat as a productive fantasy asset in IDP formats for 2025.... See More ... See Less

Raiders' Robert Spillane: Notches another productive campaign
Spillane tallied 158 total tackles (91 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and seven passes defended (with two interceptions) across 17 regular-season games in 2024. Spillane has been one of the NFL's most productive inside linebackers over the last two years, recording the fourth-most total tackles (306) in the league along with 11 passes defended, including five interceptions, during that span. He's now led the Raiders' defense in tackles each of the last two seasons while also ranking second in tackles for loss and fourth in passes defended in 2024. The 29-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and is likely to demand a high salary for 2025, having established himself as one of the league's top tacklers.... See More ... Raiders' Robert Spillane: Logs second sack of season Sunday
Spillane finished Sunday's 25-10 win over the Saints with eight tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, and two pass defenses. Spillane led the Raiders in tackling Sunday, and he registered his second sack of the season when he took down Spencer Rattler for a 10-yard loss late in the third quarter, which forced the Saints to punt on the next play. Spillane played every single defensive snap, which he has done in 13 of 16 regular-season games. He's up to 142 combined tackles on the season, and he'll have an opportunity to break his career high set in 2023 (148 combined tackles through 17 regular-season games) against the Chargers on Sunday.... Raiders' Robert Spillane: Snags pick in loss
Spillane logged eight tackles (four solo) and an interception in Monday's 15-9 loss to the Falcons. He's up to 118 tackles (72 solo), including 1.0 sacks and four pass defenses, including one interception.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Robert Spillane: Paces team in tackles Friday
Spillane finished Friday's Week 13 loss to the Chiefs with nine tackles (seven solo). Spillane led Las Vegas in stops in the loss, though he failed to reach double-digit tackles for just the fifth time through 12 contests this season. The star linebacker currently ranks third in the NFL with 111 tackles, though most other defenders have yet to play their Week 13 game. In any case, Spillane remains a strong IDP asset due to this ability to rack up stops.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Robert Spillane: Paces defense in tackles Sunday
Spillane racked up 11 tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 34-19 loss to the Dolphins. Spillane had a chance to get healthy during the Raiders' bye after playing through a knee injury in Week 9, and he ultimately paced the defense in takedowns Sunday while bringing his season tally to 97 total tackles through 10 games. He'll have his hands full again in Week 12 against a Broncos offense that just hung 38 points on Atlanta.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Robert Spillane: Records team-high 12 tackles
Spillane racked up 12 tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Chiefs. Spillane recorded double-digit tackles for the first time since Week 5 on Sunday, and his 12 takedowns were enough to pace the Raiders defense. Raiders' Robert Spillane: Adds another 10 tackles Sunday

Spillane is tied for the NFL's lead in tackles with 54 through the first five weeks, notching no less than 10 takedowns in every contest thus far. The 28-year-old has played every possible defensive snap for the Raiders this season, and he figures to remain busy against the Steelers in Week 6.... See More ... See Less -

Spillane has played every defensive snap through two weeks and has posted back-to-back 10-tackle efforts to open 2024. He also broke up two passes versus Baltimore. With the Raiders trailing 16-6 in the third quarter, Spillane picked off Lamar Jackson, setting up an Alexander Mattison touchdown on the ensuing Raiders possession. The veteran linebacker leads Las Vegas with a career-high 130 stops on the season, ranking 11th in the NFL. Spillane also has career-best marks of 3.5 sacks and three interceptions in his first campaign with the Raiders.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Robert Spillane: Could sit Sunday due to ankle issue
Spillane (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's Week 12 contest versus the Chiefs, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports. Spillane played every defensive snap and tallied a team-high 13 tackles in a loss to Miami last Sunday, but he's been hobbled by an ankle injury during Week 12 prep. The linebacker logged a trio of limited practice sessions and enters the weekend with a questionable tag ahead of Sunday's clash with Kansas City. Spillane has rarely missed a defensive down for Las Vegas this season and leads the team with 94 stops and three interceptions, so an absence against the Chiefs would be sharply felt.... See More ... Raiders' Robert Spillane: Questionable due to hand injury
Spillane is considered questionable for Sunday's Week 9 clash with the Giants due to a hand injury, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Spillane played 100 percent of the Raiders' defensive snaps this past Monday against Detroit, but he apparently picked up a hand injury as he began Week 9 prep with a DNP. He's since been able to log a pair of limited practices, so he has a chance to suit up this Sunday. Las Vegas will be without Divine Deablo (ankle) and Luke Masterson (concussion) for that contest, so they'll be perilously thin at linebacker if Spillane is forced to sit out as well. In that scenario, Jaylon Smith -- who signed with the Raiders off New Orleans' practice squad Thursday -- could be thrust into a major role right away.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Robert Spillane: Leads team in tackles again
Spillane recorded eight tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 30-12 loss at Chicago. Spillane tallied seven-plus tackles for the sixth time in seven games this season in Week 7, easily maintaining pace for a career year in that category. He has also led Las Vegas' linebackers in snaps in every game in 2023, and he should continue to do so in Week 8 at Detroit.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Robert Spillane: Active in loss
Spillane recorded seven tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 23-18 loss to the Steelers. Spillane is up to 28 tackles total through three games. Perhaps even more impressive, he has been on the field for all 202 defensive snaps this season. The linebacker also saw some special teams work against Pittsburgh, as was on the field for seven snaps (24 percent). Next up for him and the Raiders is a matchup with the Chargers in Los Angeles.... Steelers' Robert Spillane: Signs one-year tender with Steelers
Spillane signed his one-year, $2.43 million tender with the Steelers on Friday, Joe Rutter of TribLIVE reports. Spillane appeared in 14 games (four starts) last season and totaled 56 tackles (29 solo), including two for loss. The fifth-year linebacker figures to provide depth behind Devin Bush and Myles Jack again in 2022, but his role may increase slightly with the departure of Joe Schobert.... See More ... See Less -
Steelers' Robert Spillane: Not on injury report
Spillane (knee) wasn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's practice session, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Coach Mike Tomlin revealed Tuesday that Spillane is dealing with a knee injury, but the 26-year-old didn't have any limitations during Wednesday's practice session. It appears as though he'll be available for Sunday's wild-card matchup against Kansas City.... See More ... See Less -
Steelers' Robert Spillane: Placed on COVID list
Spillane (knee) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Spillane has already been dealing with a knee injury, and he now finds himself in COVID-19 protocols as well. The confluence of maladies will sideline him against Baltimore in Week 13, and Spillane will be fighting an uphill battle to get back on the field next Thursday against Minnesota.... See More ...
