  • Cowboys' Saahdiq Charles: Joins forces with Dallas

The Cowboys signed Charles to a one-year contract on Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. Charles spent the 2024 season in retirement but announced his decision to return to the NFL in early March, and he'll now get a chance to compete for a depth role along the interior of Dallas' offensive line. The 2020 fourth-round pick started in 10 of his 11 regular-season appearances with the Titans back in 2023, when he last suited up for NFL action.

  • Saahdiq Charles: Coming out of retirement

Charles (undisclosed) announced that he is coming out of retirement Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The 2020 fourth-round pick from LSU was in line to start for the Titans in 2024 before retiring from the NFL in early August. He's since been let go from Tennessee's reserve/retired list, making him an unrestricted free agent. Expect Charles to sign with a team in need of interior offensive line help and compete for a reserve role throughout the summer.

  • Titans' Saahdiq Charles: Set to retire

Charles (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/retired list by the Titans on Tuesday, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports. Charles had been getting first-team reps at right guard throughout the offseason, but he now appears to be set to hang up his cleats. The 25-year-old dealt with a calf issue in 2023, though it's unclear if the injury is the reason for his decision to retire.

  • Commanders' Saahdiq Charles: Returns from IR

Charles (calf) was activated from the Commanders' injured reserve list Friday and does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams. Charles sustained a calf injury in Week 7 against the Giants and was placed on the team's IR shortly thereafter. He was a full participant in all three practices this week and appears set to return for Sunday's contest.

  • Commanders' Saahdiq Charles: Could return soon

Charles (calf) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Charles has been sidelined since suffering the injury in Week 7. He'll now have a 21-day window to practice with the team before being added to the active roster. The LSU product was the team's starter at left guard before the injury, so his potential return as soon as Week 15 against the Rams should be a boost to the Commanders' offensive line.

  • Commanders' Saahdiq Charles: Moved to IR

The Commanders placed Charles (calf) on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Charles sustained a calf injury in the Commanders' 14-7 loss to the Giants in Week 7. He'll be forced to miss at least the next four games and will be eligible to return against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. Ricky Stromberg, whom the Commanders took in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, is set to make his first career start at left guard in Charles' absence.

  • Commanders' Saahdiq Charles: Won't play Sunday

Charles (calf) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports. Washington's starting left guard will miss his first game of the season this Sunday, as he continues to nurse the calf strain that he suffered during the Commanders' Week 7 loss to the Giants. 2023 third-round pick Ricky Stromberg is expected to make his first career start in Charles' stead.

  • Commanders' Saahdiq Charles: Exits with injury

Charles is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Giants with a calf injury. Charles appears to have injured his ankle at some point during the second half. In his place, Ricky Stromberg has stepped in as Washington's left guard for the time being.
