Murphy recorded 11 points (3-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 38 minutes during Wednesday's 101-99 victory over the Mavericks.
After drilling five threes in each of his past three games, Murphy cooled down quite a bit Wednesday. The star forward should see some extra shots fall his way until the Pelicans get Zion Williamson (hamstring) and Jordan Poole (knee) back into the lineup. Murphy has averaged a productive 14.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals per contest in eight games this season, but he's shooting just 38.3 percent from the floor.

The fifth-year wing sank five three-pointers for the second straight game, as Murphy begins to heat up from downtown. He's scored in double digits in four of six contests to start the season, averaging 14.5 points, 6.5 boards, 3.5 assists, 2.5 threes and 1.2 steals while shooting 34.9 percent (15-for-43) from beyond the arc.

Murphy couldn't get anything going in the loss, shooting under 30 percent for the second straight game. Outside of one solid performance against the Spurs, Murphy has struggled to begin the season, averaging 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.3 three-pointers across the first four games. Look for him to bounce back sooner rather than later, making this an ideal time to buy low in fantasy leagues.

Murphy finished Friday's 120-116 overtime loss to the Spurs with 24 points (9-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals in 46 minutes.
Following a modest box score in the Pelicans opener, Murphy excelled against the Spurs. He was dialed in on the boards, efficient from the field, and active on defense. His 46 minutes led all players in Friday's overtime loss. He'll have the weekend to recuperate before attempting to repeat that effort against Boston Monday.

Murphy will suit up in the team's penultimate preseason game after missing the Pelicans' win over the Melbourne Phoenix on Oct. 4 due to left foot soreness. Murphy won't play in Saturday's exhibition game against the Melbourne Phoenix due to left foot soreness, Erin Summers of the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network reports.
Murphy will miss the second half of the club's back-to-back set in Australia. He posted 18 points (7-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three steals and one rebound across 19 minutes in Friday's win. His next opportunity to suit up in the preseason will come against the Rockets on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Full go for training camp
Pelicans executive vice president Joe Dumars said Murphy, who recently recovered from a torn labrum and partial rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder, has been scrimmaging non-stop for the past two weeks, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Dumars added that Murphy has been operating at full speed, meaning he should be a full go ahead of training camp. Murphy is coming off a career-best 2024-25 campaign with averages of 21.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 three-pointers, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks across 35.6 minutes per contest, though he could see slightly less usage in 2025-26 if Zion Williamson manages to stay healthy.
