Twins' Joe Ryan: Surrenders four runs
Ryan allowed four runs on six hits and struck out five without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Ryan's run of three straight quality starts came to a close, as Arizona got to him early Tuesday. All four runs on his line were surrendered over the first two innings, though he was able to settle down and exit at 86 pitches (58 strikes). This was the fourth time in 2024 that Ryan avoided walking a batter. He's now at a 3.31 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 100:15 K:BB over 98 innings through 16 starts. He's projected to make his next start at Seattle.

Twins' Joe Ryan: Posts another quality start
Ryan allowed one run on six hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings in a no-decision against Tampa Bay on Wednesday.
Ryan gave up a third-inning solo homer to Isaac Paredes but otherwise kept the Rays off the scoreboard. The right-handed hurler racked up an impressive 19 swinging strikes, though he finished with a modest five punchouts. Ryan recorded his third straight quality start and his 11th of the season, which is tied for fifth in the majors. He's complemented that total with a 3.13 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 95:15 K:BB over 92 innings.

Twins' Joe Ryan: Records quality start in victory
Ryan (5-5) earned the win over Oakland on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out five batters over seven innings.
Ryan surrendered a two-run homer to Tyler Soderstrom in the second inning, but those were the only runs the A's managed against the righty hurler. Ryan finished with a stat line very similar to his previous outing, when he gave up two runs on three hits over seven frames versus Pittsburgh, though that performance came in a losing effort.
