Rays' Brandon Lowe: Suffers broken toe
Lowe suffered a broken pinky toe during Saturday's game against the Pirates, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports. Lowe was hit by a pitch in the first inning of the contest and was removed in the sixth frame with what was initially deemed a right foot contusion. However, further evaluation showed that Lowe actually sustained a broken toe. Per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Lowe isn't expected to require an IL stint at this point.... See More ... Rays' Brandon Lowe: Has bruised right foot
Lowe was removed from Saturday's game against the Pirates with a right foot contusion, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports. Isaac Paredes came in for Lowe in the sixth inning after Lowe sustained a right foot injury stemming from a first-inning hit-by-pitch. While the injury seems relatively minor, Lowe should continue to be evaluated ahead of Sunday's series finale.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Belts fourth homer
Lowe went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Sunday against Atlanta. Lowe collected two hits, including his fourth round-tripper of the season. It was the second time in three games and fourth time this month Lowe has collected two hits in a game. The veteran second baseman struggled initially after missing more than a month with an oblique injury, but he has turned things up a bit since the calendar shifted to June, batting .267 with three homers, 11 RBI, seven runs and a steal over 45 at-bats through 12 games this month.... Rays' Brandon Lowe: Sitting against lefty
Lowe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta. Lowe will dodge a matchup with southpaw Chris Sale on Friday. Instead, Jose Caballero will bat eighth and play second base. Lowe has produced multiple hits in three of his last eight games with a pair of homers during that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Walks off Chicago
Lowe went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Cubs. After the Rays tied the game earlier in the ninth, Lowe launched a 3-2 splitter from Hector Neris into the right-field bleachers for a three-run homer, giving Tampa Bay a 5-2 victory. It's the third homer for Lowe this season and his second in six games -- he's gone 6-for-23 (.261) with 10 RBI in that span. Overall, the 29-year-old second-baseman is batting .205 with a .711 OPS, 18 RBI and 11 runs scored through 26 games this season.... See More ... See Less -

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Drives in five vs. Marlins
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, a two-run double and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 9-5 win over Miami. It was a big night for Lowe in his first start this year against a left-hander -- the second baseman tied the game 3-3 with a three-run homer off Jesus Luzardo in the fourth inning before adding two more RBI with a double in the fifth. The home run was the second of the season for Lowe and his first since March 29 after spending over a month on the IL with an oblique injury. He's now slashing .203/.320/.406 with 13 RBI and eight runs scored across 75 plate appearances on the campaign.... See More ... See Less -

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Activated from injured list
The Rays activated Lowe (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports. Lowe had his return from an oblique strain delayed when he had a little setback, but he returned to action on his rehab assignment in recent days and now appears back to 100 percent. He had a .600 OPS with one home run in eight games before getting hurt and will regain his role as Tampa Bay's regular second baseman against right-handers.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Continuing rehab stint Saturday
Lowe (oblique) will resume his rehab assignment Saturday at Triple-A Durham, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Lowe initially landed on the injured list April 12 with a strained right oblique, and he played four rehab games in the minors before a setback temporarily halted his progress Sunday. Now that he's been cleared to get back on the field, the plan is for Lowe to play two more games with Durham before returning to Tampa Bay on Monday ahead of the team's upcoming series against Boston.... Rays' Brandon Lowe: Should resume rehab assignment soon
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that Lowe (oblique) will rejoin the team in Tampa Bay and will resume swinging the bat before heading back out on a minor-league rehab assignment in short order, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Cash's comments came after Lowe was pulled off his assignment with Durham when he experienced renewed soreness in his right oblique during his fourth rehab game Sunday. Lowe visited a spine surgeon Tuesday for further consultation on his injury, with Cash noting that further imaging showed the second baseman was "heading in the right direction" with his recovery. Cash said that Lowe may still have to manage some pain moving forward, but the 29-year-old at least appears to have steered clear of a major setback. If he's able to return to Durham and resume playing in games by this weekend, Lowe could be ready to come off the 10-day injured list at some point next week.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Seeing specialist Tuesday
Lowe said following his rehab game Sunday with Triple-A Durham that he felt "something" in his right oblique and he will visit a specialist Tuesday in Nashville, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Lowe started at second base with Durham on Sunday, going 1-for-5 with a three-run home run and striking out three times. The 29-year-old has gone 3-for-10 with two home runs and three walks over his four rehab games and appeared to be on the cusp of a return from the 10-day injured list, but his activation will be delayed while he consults with a specialist after possibly aggravating the oblique injury. Richie Palacios and Amed Rosario are expected to continue operating in a platoon at second base until Lowe is deemed ready to join the big club.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Early exit from rehab outing
Lowe (oblique) was pulled from Friday's rehab appearance with Triple-A Durham for precautionary reasons, MLB.com reports. Lowe has been on a rehab assignment since Tuesday and gone 2-for-5 with a home run across three games. It's unclear why he was pulled or if this will push back his return timeline.... See More ... Lowe (oblique) will start his rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Durham, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported Friday. Lowe was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Rays on Friday, retroactive to April 9, with a right oblique strain, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports. The grade of the strain has not yet been revealed, so it's unclear at this point how much time Lowe might miss. Curtis Mead has been filling for him at second base and should continue to do so most days. The Rays also recalled Niko Goodrum to take Lowe's spot on the roster, and he is an option at the keystone, as well.... See More ... See Less
