Rockies' Elias Diaz: Not close to return
Manager Bud Black said that Diaz (calf) will be out for at least another week Tuesday, MLB.com reports.
Diaz has resumed baseball activities but is not sprinting at full speed and is still experiencing soreness. The Rockies have stressed the importance of Diaz returning at full strength, so his absence could extend into the middle of July. Jacob Stallings should remain the team's primary catcher in the meantime.

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Resumes jogging
The Rockies cleared Diaz (calf) to resume jogging Monday, MLB.com reports.
While Diaz looks to be making some progress in his recovery from the left calf strain that forced him to the injured list last Friday, he's still on track to spend more than the minimum 10 days on the shelf. The Rockies haven't yet provided a target date for Diaz's return from the IL, and Jacob Stallings should serve as Colorado's top backstop until Diaz is back in action.

The Rockies placed Diaz on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left calf strain, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports..
Diaz was removed in the bottom half of the first inning of Monday's game against the Twins after straining his left calf while running to first base. He was held out for the rest of that series in the hopes he would be available for a weekend set against Pittsburgh, but instead the 33-year-old heads to the IL. Jacob Stallings got the start at catcher the last two games, and he figures to see most of the action behind the plate while Diaz is sidelined, though Hunter Goodman will provide some depth and will start at catcher for Saturday's game, per Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com.

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Remains out Wednesday

As expected, Diaz will get another day to rest his left calf injury. The hope is that he will be ready to play Friday in Denver versus the Pirates following the Rockies' off day Thursday, but his availability for the weekend isn't guaranteed. Jacob Stallings will start at catcher Wednesday.

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Likely out for Minnesota series
Rockies manager Bud Black suggested after Monday's 5-0 loss to the Twins that Diaz will likely miss the remaining two games of the series in Minnesota due to a strained left calf, MLB.com reports. "It's right in the belly of the calf, so we'll see," Black said of the injury Diaz suffered in the first inning of Monday's game. "He's been feeling it for a couple weeks. He's been able to manage it and [in Monday's game], I think just on that particular ground ball, out of the box, it got him. We'll see in a couple of days. Keith [Duggar, the team's head athletic trainer] wants to treat it for a day or two and see where we are."
Diaz was lifted from the game in the bottom of the first after he strained his calf while running out a groundball in his first at-bat of the night in the top of the frame. Jacob Stallings came on to replace Diaz and will presumably start behind the plate for the final two games in Minnesota, and Stallings could be headed for an extended run as the Rockies' No. 1 catcher if Diaz requires a stint on the injured list. Diaz will presumably be re-examined Thursday when the Rockies return to Colorado before the team makes a decision on his availability heading into this weekend's series versus the Pirates. Diaz has been one of the few bright spots for the Rockies this season, batting .303 with five home runs, 28 RBI and 20 runs in 55 games.

After opening the scoring with an RBI groundout in the first inning, Diaz put the Rockies ahead 5-4 with a solo shot off Nick Martinez before adding a third RBI with a base hit in the seventh. It's the third multi-hit effort in four games for Diaz -- he's gone 7-for-16 in that span.
