Rangers' Marcus Semien: Drives in three in loss
Semien went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, three RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Mariners. Semien got the Rangers on the board with an RBI double in the fifth inning and added a two-out, two-run single in the ninth, but the comeback fell short. This was his third multi-hit effort in June, though it was his first since June 3. The second baseman is slashing .265/.330/.438 with 11 home runs, 40 RBI, 50 runs scored and three stolen bases over 69 contests this season. It's not a surprise that his speed has declined in his age-33 campaign, but the good news is the rest of his game appears to be in line with his career norms.... See More ... See Less -

Semien went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Sunday's 7-2 win over San Francisco. He was also hit by a pitch. An inning later, Semien deposited a first-pitch slider into the stands in left for a two-run home run. He's reached base safely in nine straight games, going 11-for-31 (.355) with seven walks, two homers, three RBI and eight runs scored.... See More ... See Less -

Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Semien was feeling "banged up," which was the reason he sat out Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Lengthy starting streak ends
Semien is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks. Semien will get a day off for the first time since May 12, 2022, ending a streak of 349 consecutive regular-season starts. Though Semien isn't nursing a new injury, manager Bruce Bochy told Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News that the 33-year-old will be getting a couple days of rest -- Texas is off Thursday -- before returning to the lineup Friday in Miami since he's been playing a little banged up after he was involved in a collision in the outfield with teammate Adolis Garcia in a May 18 game. Ezequiel Duran will step in at second base in Semien's stead Wednesday, while designated hitter Travis Jankowski takes over Semien's spot atop the batting order.... See More ... See Less -
