  • Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Agrees to one-year deal

Lundkvist signed a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Stars on Monday.

Lundkvist had two goals and 19 points in 59 regular-season games in 2023-24. His role with Dallas might be limited following the signings of defensemen Matt Dumba and Ilya Lyubushkin. As a result, it wouldn't be surprising if Lundkvist ends up serving primarily as Dallas' seventh blueliner, which was a common occurrence for him down the stretch and in the playoffs last season.

  • Avalanche's Calvin de Haan: Signs one-year deal

De Haan signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Avalanche on Monday, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

De Haan had three goals, 10 points, 96 hits and 82 blocked shots in 59 regular-season appearances with the Lightning in 2023-24. The 33-year-old should be in the mix for a third-pairing role, but it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up as Colorado's seventh defenseman on the depth chart.

  • Josh Mahura D | FLA

    Josh Mahura: Hits free agency

Mahura is an unrestricted free agent after Florida didn't present him with a qualifying offer ahead of Sunday's deadline, David Dwork of The Hockey News reports.

Mahura contributed nine assists, 25 shots on goal, 27 blocked shots and 40 hits in 30 regular-season appearances with Florida in 2023-24. He could be a solid depth blueliner for teams in free agency.

  • Stars' Ilya Lyubushkin: Inks three-year agreement

Lyubushkin signed a three-year, $9.75 million contract with the Stars on Monday.

Lyubushkin had eight points (all assists), 57 PIM, 176 hits and 168 blocked shots in 74 regular-season contests between Anaheim and Toronto in 2023-24. The 30-year-old is likely to serve primarily on the third pairing with the Stars. Between Lyubushkin and Matt Dumba, who also signed a two-year deal with the Stars, Dallas is adding a lot of grit to its defense.

  • Stars' Brendan Smith: Signs one-year deal

Smith signed a one-year, $1 million contract with Dallas on Monday.

Smith accumulated five goals, 15 points, 60 shots on net, 61 PIM, 101 blocked shots and 117 hits across 63 regular-season games with New Jersey in 2023-24. He will serve as a depth defender for the Stars.

  • Matt Dumba D | TB

Stars' Matt Dumba: Makes two-year commitment

Dumba signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Stars on Monday, Bob McKenzie of TSN on Monday.

Dumba had four goals, 12 points, 88 PIM, 202 hits and 108 blocked shots in 76 regular-season contests between Arizona and Tampa Bay in 2023-24. There's an opportunity for him to serve in a top-four capacity with the Stars, though he's unlikely to see much, if any, time with the man advantage.

  • Mike Reilly D | NYI

Islanders' Mike Reilly: Signs one-year deal

Reilly inked a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Islanders on Monday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.

Reilly was picked up off waivers by the Isles back in late November and went on to play in 59 regular-season contests for the club. The veteran blueliner notched six goals and 18 assists, crossing the 20-point threshold for just the second time in his career. He'll likely remain in a bottom-four role and could be an option for the second power-play unit.

  • Sabres' Dennis Gilbert: Agrees to one-year contract

Gilbert signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with the Sabres on Monday.

Gilbert had a goal, seven points, 59 hits and 49 blocked shots in 34 appearances with the Flames in 2023-24. The 27-year-old has a real shot of making the Sabres' roster out of training camp, but even if Gilbert makes the team, he probably won't play much for Buffalo.

  • Jacob Bryson D | BUF

Sabres' Jacob Bryson: Inks one-year pact

Bryson signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with Buffalo on Monday.

Bryson played in a mere 36 games for Buffalo last season, notching one goal, seven assists and 15 shots on net while averaging 14:41 of ice time. The 26-year-old blueliner is far from a lock for the lineup on a nightly basis and could spend significant chunks of the season serving as a healthy scratch.

  • Red Wings' Erik Gustafsson: Signs two-year deal

Gustafsson signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Red Wings on Monday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on Monday.

Gustafsson had six goals and 31 points in 76 regular-season games with the Rangers in 2023-24. The 32-year-old is likely to serve on either Detroit's second or third pairing, and he should also see some time on the second power-play unit.
