  • Flames' Kevin Bahl: Gets traded

Bahl was acquired by the Flames from the Devils along with a 2025 first-round pick in exchange for Jacob Markstrom on Wednesday, per Darren Dreger of TSN.

Bahl had a goal, 11 points, 82 PIM, 151 hits and 103 blocks in 82 contests while averaging 17:24 of ice time with New Jersey in 2023-24. The 23-year-old was originally taken by Arizona with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, but he ended up being included in the package that sent Taylor Hall to the Coyotes in 2019. Bahl might have a shot at a top-four spot in Calgary, but that is far from guaranteed.

  • Flames' Martin Pospisil: Will miss rest of Worlds

Pospisil (upper body) will miss the remainder of the 2024 IIHF World Championship, per Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun.

Pospisil was doing phenomenal at the tournament, providing three goals and seven points in seven games with Team Slovakia, but he sustained the injury during Monday's contest versus Sweden. The severity of his injury isn't known yet, so it's not clear if Pospisil's offseason training or availability for the start of the 2024-25 campaign will be impacted. The 24-year-old recorded eight goals, 24 points, 107 PIM and 238 hits in 63 contests with Calgary as a rookie in 2023-24.

  • Flames' Martin Pospisil: Injured at World Championship

Pospisil suffered an apparent upper-body injury in Slovakia's matchup with Sweden on Monday, Claire Hanna of TSN reports.

Pospisil has been lighting it up at the international tournament with three goals and four assists. In his rookie campaign, the 24-year-old center notched eight goals and 16 helpers despite not having a significant role with the man advantage. Barring a long-term injury, Pospisil should be capable of improving on those numbers in his sophomore campaign.

  • Flames' Dennis Gilbert: Ends season out of lineup

Gilbert was scratched for 20 of the Flames' final 23 games this season.

Gilbert had a career year with seven points in 34 contests, but his playing time was sparse after the All-Star break. The physical defenseman is a pending unrestricted free agent and will likely have to settle for a two-way contract in 2024-25 after playing on a one-way deal the last two seasons.

  • Flames' A.J. Greer: Solid in fourth-line role

Greer produced 12 points and 100 hits over 59 contests in 2023-24.

Greer's numbers are right in line with what he did with the Bruins in 2022-23, though he spent far less time in the sin bin with Calgary. The 27-year-old has expressed interest in re-signing with the Flames, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reported Friday, though it's unclear if the interest is mutual. Greer is a low-maintenance player capable of handling a fourth-line role, so Calgary or some other team should get him under contract for 2024-25.

  • Flames' Walker Duehr: Takes step back in 2023-24

Duehr finished 2023-24 with seven points over 40 contests.

Duehr played in a career-high number of games, but his production dropped from 2022-23 (11 points in 27 outings). The path to playing time won't get easier as more of the Flames' prospects become NHL ready. The 26-year-old winger has rarely been more than a fourth-liner in his career, and he'll have to compete for that spot in training camp in the fall.

  • Flames' Daniil Miromanov: Puts up assist in win

Miromanov notched an assist and went plus-3 in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.

Miromanov held his own as a top-four option once he was traded from the Golden Knights to the Flames in early March, earning seven points over 20 contests. He also saw power-play time, where he earned two of his four assists. The 26-year-old defenseman signed a two-year extension with the Flames in March, so it's clear he's part of the team's plans on the blue line for 2024-25 with the aim of being a full-time NHLer.

  • Flames' Martin Pospisil: Provides assist in win

Pospisil notched an assist, three shots on goal, three hits and four PIM in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.

Pospisil didn't score a goal over the last nine games of the season, but he added six assists over that span. The 24-year-old concluded his rookie campaign with 24 points, 238 hits, 107 PIM, 117 shots on goal and a plus-14 rating through 63 games. He'll need to improve his technique with his aggressive play to avoid suspensions, but Pospisil could grow into being a hard-nosed power winger in the Flames' middle six.

  • Flames' Andrew Mangiapane: Offers helper

Mangiapane recorded an assist, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.

Mangiapane was able to achieve a 40-point season for the third straight year, earning 14 goals and 26 assists over 75 appearances. The winger also put up 122 shots on net, 89 hits, 47 PIM and a plus-7 rating despite seeing middle-six minutes. Mangiapane's proven at this point to be a solid all-situations winger, but he rarely stands out in any one area.

  • Flames' Connor Zary: Manages assist in win

Zary logged an assist and two hits in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.

Zary had a strong finish in 2023-24, posting two goals and two helpers over the final five contests. The 22-year-old rookie had a solid campaign with 14 goals, 20 helpers, 90 shots on net and a plus-12 rating while seeing middle-six minutes for much of the year. Zary is one of the Flames' top prospects and will look to take a step forward in 2024-25, giving him appeal as a depth option in most fantasy formats if he can improve his power-play production and shoot the puck more often.

  • Flames' Rasmus Andersson: Earns 200th career point

Andersson logged an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.

The helper was Andersson's 200th career point. The defenseman fell short of the 40-point mark for the first time in three years, ending 2023-24 with nine goals, 30 helpers, 159 shots on net, 186 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating over 78 appearances. Despite the drop in offense, he remains a top-four defenseman capable of taking minutes in all situations heading into 2024-25.

  • Flames' Andrei Kuzmenko: Supplies assist Thursday

Kuzmenko registered an assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.

Kuzmenko was one of the Flames' top players in April with seven goals and six assists over nine contests. The 28-year-old winger had more points in 29 games with the Flames (25) than he had in 43 contests with the Canucks (21) prior to a midseason trade. He added 121 shots on net and a minus-9 rating this season. Kuzmenko's offense can be streaky, but he could be a top-six fit for the Flames heading into 2024-25.

  • Flames' Oliver Kylington: Tallies in win

Kylington scored a goal and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.

After missing all of 2022-23 and a good portion of this season, Kylington's return was a positive story for a Flames team that remains stuck in mediocrity. The defenseman earned eight points and added 42 shots on net, 51 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating. Kylington, a pending unrestricted free agent, expressed his desire to sign with Calgary again, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reported Friday. The 26-year-old blueliner is likely to be a bottom-four blueliner regardless of if he stays or goes, but he could also factor in on the power play more once he gets a full training camp under his belt again.

  • Flames' Kevin Rooney: Adds third goal

Rooney scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over San Jose.

He extended Calgary's lead to 4-0 in the second period, beating Devin Cooley from the slot for Rooney's first goal since March 18. The 30-year-old Rooney had gone 12 games without a point leading up to Thursday's contest. He finishes the season with three goals and four points over 33 games in a fourth-line role.

  • Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Nets 20th goal

Weegar scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over San Jose.

He extended Calgary's lead to 5-0 late in the second period, beating Devin Cooley with a wrister through traffic for Weegar's 20th goal this season. It was a breakthrough season offensively for the 30-year-old blueliner -- he posted four points (a goal and three assists) in his final four contests. Weegar will finish the campaign with a career-high 52 points (20 goals, 32 assists) while adding 194 hits and 200 blocked shots in 82 games.
