Young (hamstring) had his 21-day practice window expire Wednesday, making him ineligible from being activated from injured reserve before Super Bowl LIX against the Chiefs on Sunday, Feb. 9, per the NFL's transaction log. Young was claimed off waivers by the Eagles in late August after being let go by the Raiders at the end of training camp. He suffered a hamstring injury in mid-October, which was severe enough for him to be placed on injured reserve. Young had his 21-day practice window to return from IR open Jan. 8, but he wasn't able to progress enough in his recovery to be cleared to play in any of the Eagles' three playoff games, and with his 21-day practice window closing he will remain on IR and miss the Super Bowl. The 2023 third-round pick played in six regular-season games with Las Vegas in his rookie season, finishing with four solo tackles.... See More ... See Less

Eagles' Byron Young: Out for NFC Championship Game
Young (hamstring), who remains on IR, practiced in full Friday but is ruled out for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Commanders. Young will remain on IR for a third consecutive playoff game, but his 21-day practice window won't expire until Jan. 29, so he could still be available for the Super Bowl in the event that the Eagles advance over Washington. The second-year nose tackle is attempting to make his 2024 debut.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Byron Young: Ruled out to face Rams
Young (hamstring) practiced in full Friday but is ruled out for Sunday's home divisional-round contest against Los Angeles. Young officially remains on IR and is set to have his 21-day practice window expire Jan. 29, so even though he's been ruled out for the NFC divisional round, it's possible Philadelphia opts to activate him in the near future, if only to preserve his eligibility to contribute later in the playoffs. The second-year nose tackle hasn't yet suited up for action during the 2024 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Byron Young: Not returning for wild-card round
Young, who is on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, has been ruled out for Sunday's wild-card matchup against the Packers. Young has been on IR since late October due to a hamstring issue. He was designated to return to practice Wednesday and logged a trio of full practices during the week but isn't quite ready to suit up. Young was a third-round pick by Las Vegas in 2023 and was claimed off waivers by the Eagles in late August this year. He hasn't yet played in a game for Philadelphia.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Byron Young: Placed on IR with hamstring injury
The Eagles placed Young (hamstring) on injured reserve Friday. Young was unable to practice all week due to a hamstring injury, which is severe enough for him to warrant a multi-game absence. He will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 12 against the Rams on Sunday, Nov. 24 the earliest he can return. The 2023 third-round pick was claimed off waivers by Eagles in late August but has yet to appear in a regular-season game.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Byron Young: Out for Week 7
Young (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants. The 70th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Raiders, Young was cut by Las Vegas ahead of the season and has yet to appear in a game this season.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Byron Young: Claimed by Eagles
Young was claimed off waivers by the Eagles on Thursday. Young was waived by the Raiders on Wednesday after posting three total tackles (two solo), including a sack, with Las Vegas during preseason. Now with Philadelphia, the defensive lineman will compete with Jordan Davis for snaps at nose tackle in 2024.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Byron Young: Opens camp on PUP list
Young (undisclosed) was placed on the active/PUP list by the Raiders on Friday, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Young will begin camp on the sideline as he nurses an undisclosed injury, but he'll be eligible to return to practice at any point in the coming weeks. Las Vegas kicks off its preseason with a matchup at home with San Francisco on Aug. 13.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Byron Young: Headed west to Las Vegas
The Raiders selected Young in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 70th overall. Not to be confused with the notable Tennessee edge rusher of the same name in the 2023 Draft, this Byron Young is a defensive tackle from Alabama. Young is no more than average as an athlete at 6-foot-3, 294 pounds, but he was a leading contributor on a strong Alabama run defense.... See More ... See Less
