Collins signed a two-year, $20 million deal with the Browns on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Following a one-year stint in San Francisco, Collins has found a new home in Cleveland. The Nebraska product started all 17 games for the 49ers in 2024, logging 33 total tackles, including 5.0 sacks, while playing 688 defensive snaps. The nine-year veteran is expected to start alongside Dalvin Tomlinson, strengthening the Browns' interior defensive line.... See More ... See Less

Maliek Collins: Let go by San Francisco
The 49ers released Collins on Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Collins was traded from the Texans to the 49ers in March 2024 and started all 17 regular-season games last year, tallying 33 tackles, including 5.0 sacks. The veteran defensive tackle should get some healthy interest in free agency heading into his age-30 season. With Collins out, Jordan Elliott, Kalia Davis and Evan Anderson are slated to be the top defensive tackles for San Francisco.... See More ... See Less -
49ers' Maliek Collins: Starts all 17 games in 2024
Collins finished the 2024 season with 33 tackles (20 solo), including 5.0 sacks, and two fumble recoveries across 17 games. At 29 years old and in his ninth NFL season, Collins started all 17 games for San Francisco and matched his previous career high with the 5.0 sacks, a number he hit in both 2016 with Dallas as a rookie and 2023 with Houston. Collins proved to be a smart acquisition by 49ers GM John Lynch last March, when he sent a seventh-round pick to the Texans for the veteran defensive tackle. Collins has one year remaining on his contract through 2025.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Maliek Collins: Misses first practice this week
Collins (hip) didn't practice Tuesday. Collins missed Week 17 but was able to play in last weekend's win over the Colts, playing 52 percent of the defensive snaps. Tuesday was likely more of a rest day for the veteran. Collins finished the regular season with 41 tackles (19 solo), 18 quarterback hits and 5.0 sacks.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Maliek Collins: Will play Week 18
Collins (hip) is active for Saturday's game against the Colts, Drew Dougherty of the Texans' official site reports. Collins missed Week 17 against the Titans with a hip injury but will make his return for the Texans' regular-season finale. He has a career-high 38 tackles (16 solo) over 15 games this season, and his 5.0 sacks is tied for his career best with his 2016 season as a member of the Cowboys.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Maliek Collins: Won't play Sunday
Collins (hip) is inactive ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans, Drew Dougherty of the Texans' official site reports. Houston's top defensive tackle was held out of practice all week with a hip injury, which makes it no surprise that he'll be unavailable in Week 17. Khalil Davis should see increased snaps filling in for Collins on the Texans' defensive line, and the 28-year-old's next chance to play will come in Week 18 against the Colts.... See More ... Texans' Maliek Collins: Active Sunday
Collins (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Browns. The starting defensive tackle was a limited participant in practice all week and carried a questionable tag into Sunday. Collins has yet to miss a game this season and he has played on a majority of the defensive snaps in most of them. The veteran has 35 tackles, including 5.0 sacks, in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Maliek Collins: Expected to play
Collins (hip) remains questionable but is expected to play Sunday against the Browns, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The defensive tackle participated in practice all week, but on a limited basis. Collins has played more than half of the defensive snaps in 13 of 14 games this season. The eighth-year pro has 35 tackles, including 5.0 sacks, in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Maliek Collins: Returning Sunday
Collins (chest) is active Sunday against the Giants. Collins has missed each of the team's last two contests. His return is good news for the Texans' defensive front, as Collins should see the majority of the snaps at defensive tackle next to Kurt Hinish.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Maliek Collins: Will not return
Collins (chest) is out for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the Raiders. Collins suffered the injury in the first quarter and went straight to the locker room. Thomas Booker and Kurt Hinish will likely see extra opportunity with Collins out.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Maliek Collins: Questionable to return
Collins is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Raiders due to a chest injury. Collins went straight to the locker room after exiting Sunday's game in the first quarter, and it's unclear whether he'll be able to return. Thomas Booker and Kurt Hinish are candidates to see additional playing time in Collins' absence.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Maliek Collins: Question for Week 3
Collins (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup against Chicago. Collins did not practice Friday, as he's been dealing with an unspecified knee injury. It's unknown when the injury arose, as he was able to suit up for Week 1 and Week 2. The 27-year-old has played 81 of the team's defensive snaps through the first two games. Thomas Booker will possibly take over for Collins at starting defensive tackle alongside Roy Lopez Sunday against the Bears.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Maliek Collins: Receives return designation
Collins (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Tuesday, Josh Dubow of the Associated Press reports. The 25-year-old has already spent the three-game minimum on injured reserve, so he could be activated for Saturday's matchup with the Dolphins. Collins had 12 total tackles in 10 games before going down with the injury.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Maliek Collins: Back from COVID list
Collins (undisclosed) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. The 25-year-old was placed on the COVID list as a high-risk close contact earlier in the week, but it won't impact his availability for Sunday's contest. Collins should continue to play a significant role in Las Vegas' defensive line rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Maliek Collins: Hits COVID list
The Raiders placed Collins on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN reports. Collins was considered a high-risk close contact after Clelin Ferrell tested positive for the virus Tuesday. Collins will be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs as long as he continues to test negative this week leading up to the game.... See More ... See Less -
Raiders' Maliek Collins: Takes a seat Week 5
Collins (shoulder) is inactive Week 5 against the Chiefs. Collins was only able to log one limited practice session this week, so he'll effectively end up sitting for the first game this season. With Maurice Hurst on the reserve/COVID-19 list and Daniel Ross (foot) on IR, the Raiders will be left with only Kendal Vickers and Datone Jones as the only true, healthy defensive tackles on the roster.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Maliek Collins: Headed to Las Vegas
Collins came to terms Wednesday on a contract with the Raiders, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. After spending the first four years of his career in Dallas, Collins will now reconnect with former Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli in Las Vegas. The 24-year-old played a full 16-game slate in 2019 and registered 20 stops and five sacks, despite battling knee and foot injuries. He'll likely claim a starting role along the Raiders' defensive front.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Maliek Collins: Solid in trenches in 2019
Collins completed the 2019 season with 20 tackles (15 solo) including four sacks and a fumble recovery. A third-round pick in 2016, Collins has provided the Cowboys with a solid worker in the center of the defensive line over his four-year career. He's compiled 84 tackles including 14.5 sacks while only missing three games. Dallas has higher-priority free agents to worry about this offseason and a likely new defensive scheme under Mike McCarthy, so there's no guarantee the Cowboys will be interested in bringing back Collins even if he doesn't receive big offers from other teams looking to bolster their depth in the front seven.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Maliek Collins: Adds third sack of season
Collins posted two tackles (one solo) and a sack in Monday's 37-18 win over the Giants. Collins collected his first sack since Week 4 on Monday, though he's now already matched his 2018 sack total of 3.0. He's gaining a bit of momentum with seven total tackles over the Cowboys' past two games after recording just one tackle per game in Weeks 2 to 6.... See More ... See Less -
Cowboys' Maliek Collins: Hunting opposing QBs
Collins has a sack in each of his last two games. Against the Broncos, Collins recorded his second sack of the season, a week after picking up his first QB takedown. Used primarily as a run-stuffer, he doesn't hold much value in IDP formats but nonetheless has enjoyed a good run of things in recent weeks. It's also worth noting that Collins played 73 percent of defensive snaps for Dallas in Week 4, up from 61 percent the week prior.... See More ... See Less
