Magic's Anthony Black: Stuffs stat sheet in win
Black logged 16 points (7-18 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-6 FT), six rebounds, six assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Sunday's 102-99 win over the 76ers.
Black has shown flashes of brilliance this season, and Sunday was one of those nights for the second-year guard. He contributed across the board, which should please fantasy managers who played him in category leagues. However, Black is certainly benefitting from starter Jalen Suggs (back) being out, and even then, his production has been somewhat hard to trust during Suggs' absence. He'll look to keep rolling Wednesday against the Bucks.

Magic's Anthony Black: Plays 26 minutes in return
Black (back) tallied nine points (1-5 FG, 7-8 FT), five assists, two steals and one rebound across 26 minutes Monday in the Magic's 103-94 win over the Knicks.
Black made his return in a bench role after missing the Magic's previous four contests with a low back contusion. He's been active in getting to the free-throw line over his last two appearances and has converted 12 of his 13 attempts overall between those contests, but the second-year guard's low usage rate and typically poor shooting from the field limits his overall fantasy appeal. Black will likely lose out on some playing time if the Magic get at least one of Jalen Suggs (back), Paolo Banchero (oblique) or Gary Harris (hamstring) back for their next game Thursday versus the TImberwolves.

Magic's Anthony Black: Goes unused Sunday
Black (back) was active but didn't play during Sunday's 105-92 loss to Utah. "We're going to have to look at some more time, some more pregame reps to be able to look at it the right way," head coach Jamahl Mosley told Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel after the game, when asked about the condition of Black's back.
Black ended up missing his fourth straight game with a low back contusion, and with Jalen Suggs (back) also sidelined, the Magic relied heavily on Cole Anthony (28 minutes), Trevelin Queen (25 minutes) and Cory Joseph (15 minutes) as their primary facilitators. The Magic may have been looking to preserve Black for the second leg of the back-to-back set Monday in New York, but the second-year guard should still be viewed as questionable for that contest, given Mosley's comments.

Magic's Anthony Black: Iffy for Wednesday
Black (back) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.

Magic's Anthony Black: Misses practice Tuesday
Black (back) did not practice Tuesday, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
Black missed his first outing of the season due to back spasms Sunday against the Nets, and his inability to practice Tuesday doesn't bode well for his status against the Pistons on Wednesday. The good news for Orlando is that Jalen Suggs was able to practice Tuesday after being diagnosed with a wrist sprain that he suffered against the Nets.

Magic's Anthony Black: Starting vs. Miami
Black is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Heat.
The Magic will be depleted for this matchup since they'll be missing three regular starters in Jalen Suggs (ankle), Franz Wagner (oblique) and Paolo Banchero (oblique), so Black will be tasked with having a prominent role on offense while holding a starting role in the backcourt. Black has started just once this season prior to Saturday, as he recorded seven points, two rebounds and six assists across 27 minutes in a 120-109 loss to the Cavaliers on Nov. 1.

Magic's Anthony Black: Paces scoring attack
Black provided 23 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Thursday's 105-99 loss to Oklahoma City.
Black turned in his best scoring performance through 29 games this season and did so in an impressive fashion. Jalen Suggs picked up an ankle injury and was held out for much of the second half, which opened up the floor for an uptick in opportunities on the offensive end for Black, who could slot in as the team's starting point guard if Suggs is forced to miss additional time.

Magic's Anthony Black: Strong two-way performance
Black registered 17 points (6-12 FG, 5-8 FT), six rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 114-109 loss to the Bucks.
Black logged a season-high 32 minutes, turning in one of his better performances of the season. With both Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner sidelined due to oblique injuries, Black has an opportunity to step into a larger role, at least for another week or two. While he has increased his production across multiple categories this season, consistency remains an issue.

Magic's Anthony Black: Game-high seven assists off bench
Black finished Wednesday's 106-102 win over the 76ers with 10 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds and seven assists in 30 minutes.
It was Black's first time in double scoring figures since a Nov. 25 win over Charlotte, and his seven assists were his most since a Nov. 20 loss to the Clippers. The former first-rounder remains fairly raw offensively, so his production can be erratic, but he's clearly starting to pull away from Cole Anthony as head coach Jamahl Mosley's preferred backup point guard. Over his last 10 contests, Black is averaging 8.6 points, 3.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 23.0 minutes per game. He should continue to orchestrate Orlando's second unit on offense and play disruptive defense off the bench going forward.
