The Nuggets traded Porter and a first-round pick to the Nets for Cameron Johnson on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Porter appeared in 77 regular-season games in 2024-25, averaging 18.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists over 33.7 minutes. However, he struggled during the 2025 playoffs, and the Nuggets opted to ship him to Brooklyn in exchange for another sharpshooter. While the move certainly decreases Porter's chances at making the postseason, there should be plenty of shots for the 27-year-old on a rebuilding Nets roster. He'll immediately slot into the starting small forward spot for Brooklyn.

It concludes a rough postseason for Porter, who shot just 39.2 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from downtown while managing a significant shoulder injury. Additionally, the veteran sharpshooter averaged just 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.6 steals, 0.4 blocks and 1.7 three-pointers in 31.1 minutes across 14 playoff games. Despite his postseason struggles, Porter will likely still be worth targeting for points and three-pointers in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts for 2025-26.

Porter delivered a bounce-back performance after totaling five points and shooting 2-for-14 from the field in his previous two outings. The 26-year-old forward still appears to be dealing with a sprained left shoulder. He received a lidocaine injection before Game 6 and plans to take another before Game 7, per Brendan Vogt of TheDNVR.com. The sharpshooter may not be at 100 percent, but the club will likely need him to help space the floor in Sunday's Game 7.
