  • Padres' Adam Mazur: Earns first career win

Mazur (1-2) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over five innings, but he earned the win Tuesday over the Nationals.

Washington did all of its damage in the third inning, which was punctuated by a two-run home run by Jesse Winker. Mazur was able to rebound over two more frames, and the Padres' offense pulled ahead for good in the fifth. The right-hander's first major-league win wasn't pretty, but that's been typical for the 23-year-old as he tries to find his footing with the Padres. He's at a 7.25 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 11:17 K:BB over 22.1 innings through five starts. He'll likely head back to Triple-A El Paso once Yu Darvish (groin/elbow) is cleared to return, which could happen next week but is far from a guarantee.

  • Padres' Adam Mazur: Recalled, starting Tuesday

The Padres recalled Mazur from Triple-A El Paso on Monday.

Mazur looked to be on his way out of the San Diego rotation after being optioned to Triple-A after he was lit up for three runs over 4.2 innings in a no-decision this past Friday against the Brewers, but he'll get at least one more start while Yu Darvish's (groin) return from the 15-day injured list will be delayed due to right elbow inflammation, per Dennis Lin of The Athletic. Over his four starts with San Diego this season, the rookie has gone 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and 11:16 K:BB in 17.1 innings, numbers that make him an untrustworthy fantasy option.

  • Padres' Adam Mazur: Headed back to minors

The Padres optioned Mazur to Triple-A El Paso following Thursday's game against the Brewers.

The move corresponds with southpaw Tom Cosgrove being recalled from Triple-A El Paso. Mazur was called up to the Padres' rotation June 4 due to Yu Darvish (groin) landing on the injured list. Over his four major-league starts, Mazur has an 0-2 record with a 7.27 ERA and 1.96 WHIP, and he has failed to make it through five innings over his last three starts. The 23-year-old right-hander hasn't had it much better in Triple-A this year, posting a 7.11 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 19 innings.

  • Padres' Adam Mazur: Allows three runs in no-decision

Mazur did not factor into the decision in a win over the Brewers on Thursday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

Mazur allowed one run in the first inning after surrendering a leadoff double to Brice Turang to open the contest, but the right-hander was able to keep the Brewers' offense at bay over the next three frames as San Diego took a 4-1 lead. The 23-year-old's luck would run out in the fifth, however, when Willy Adames chased him from the game with a two-run shot. Mazur has now failed to make it through five innings in each of his last three starts, allowing 13 runs over that stretch while posting a putrid 9:12 K:BB. He's likely to be pushed out of the rotation as soon as Yu Darvish (groin) returns.

  • Padres' Adam Mazur: One more start

Mazur is likely to get one more start Thursday since Yu Darvish will make a rehab start Wednesday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Mazur has struggled with his first taste of the majors, posting a 7.82 ERA and 2.05 WHIP in his three starts while issuing 13 walks in 12.2 innings.

  • Padres' Adam Mazur: Wild again in defeat

Mazur (0-2) took the loss against the Mets on Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and six walks while striking out four batters over 3.2 innings.

Mazur has struggled to find the strike zone through his first three big-league outings, racking up 13 walks over 12.2 frames. Surprisingly, none of Mazur's career-high six free passes Saturday resulted in a score -- the rookie managed to wiggle out of a constant stream of baserunners until a pair of Mets doubles in the fourth inning resulted in New York's first run. Nonetheless, Mazur isn't likely to find major-league success if he continues to issue free passes at his current rate, and he could be pushed out of San Diego's rotation if Yu Darvish (groin) is able to return to action next week.
