Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Goes off for four hits
Canzone went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI during Saturday's 15-7 win over the Tigers.
Canzone picked up a season-high four hits Saturday, continuing a pattern of hits coming in bunches for him in July. It's already the third time this month that the 27-year-old has had a game with at least three hits. Across his 28 at-bats in July, he has a 1.143 OPS with three doubles and a homer. He's played only 29 games so far this season, so the question remains whether the strong production is sustainable.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Swats homer in loss
Canzone went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Royals.
Canzone brought the Mariners within a run in the ninth inning, though the comeback effort fell short. The outfielder is up to six homers this season, five of which have come over his last 12 games, a span in which he has gone 11-for-40 (.275). He's at a .257/.288/.543 slash line with nine RBI, 10 runs scored and a stolen base across 73 plate appearances. Canzone has been handling a strong-side platoon role in right field since his June 9 call-up from Triple-A Tacoma.

Canzone went 3-for-5 with two solo home runs in Sunday's win over the Cubs.
Canzone knocked solo shots in the second and sixth innings as part of Seattle's 14-run outburst. He's gone deep three times in 10 games since being promoted from Triple-A Tacoma earlier this month. The 27-year-old is slashing .286/.342/.600 through 38 MLB plate appearances.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Idle against RHP
Canzone is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.
Canzone is on the bench for a third consecutive game, though Saturday's contest is the first of that stretch against a right-handed pitcher. The lefty-hitting outfielder had started in each of the Mariners' last six games against righties.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Sitting against southpaw
Canzone is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
The lefty-hitting Canzone will exit the lineup while southpaw Garrett Crochet toes the rubber for the Red Sox, paving the way for Miles Mastrobuoni to pick up a start in right field. Canzone had been included in the starting nine in each of the previous five contests, going 5-for-19 with a double, a walk, two runs and two RBI. He should continue to see regular starts versus right-handed pitching until Luke Raley (oblique) is ready to return from the injured list.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Getting regular work in RF
Canzone will start in right field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Guardians.
The Mariners will likely continue to shield the lefty-hitting Canzone from left-handed pitching, but the 27-year-old should be a regular presence in the lineup against right-handed pitching until Luke Raley (oblique) returns from the injured list. Canzone will pick up his fourth start in five games Sunday and has gone 5-for-16 with a home run, a double, two walks, a stolen base, four RBI and an additional run in five contests since being called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Forces extras Monday
Canzone went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's 8-4 extra-innings loss to the Diamondbacks.
Canzone completed a four-run comeback to force extras, swatting his first homer of the season in the ninth inning. The outfielder was on the bench to begin Monday's game, but he could be featured in right field as an option versus right-handed pitchers moving forward while Luke Raley (oblique) remains on the injured list. Canzone slashed .196/.271/.381 over 188 plate appearances in the majors in 2024, but he had a strong .296/.360/.564 slash line with 13 home runs, 36 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases over 45 games with Triple-A Tacoma prior to his call-up Monday.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Recalled from Triple-A
The Mariners recalled Canzone from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Canzone has spent virtually all of this season with Tacoma, where he's slashed .296/.360/.564 with 13 home runs in 45 contests. He should get a shot to play right field against right-handed pitching, at least until Luke Raley (oblique) returns.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Heading back to minors
The Mariners optioned Canzone to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.
Since being recalled from Triple-A on Monday, Canzone appeared off the bench in two of the Mariners' ensuing five games while going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. With third baseman Jorge Polanco limited to DH duties due to a sore side, the Mariners deemed Canzone an expendable piece and swapped him off the active roster for Ben Williamson, who will provide Seattle with more infield depth.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Officially recalled from Triple-A
The Mariners recalled Canzone from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Canzone will take the spot on the Mariners' 26-man roster vacated by Victor Robles after he was placed on the 10-day injured list due to left shoulder dislocation. Canzone has gone 7-for-13 with four runs scored and two solo home runs over his last three outings with Tacoma, and the 27-year-old will look to carry that momentum into the big leagues. He appeared in 67 games for the Mariners in 2024 and slashed .196/.271/.381 with eight home runs and 17 RBI across 188 plate appearances.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Set to receive call-up
The Mariners are expected to recall Canzone from Triple-A Tacoma prior to Monday's series opener versus the Astros, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Canzone will be joining the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Victor Robles (shoulder), who is headed for the injured list. The 27-year-old Canzone has produced a .861 OPS over eight games with Tacoma this season but struggled during his time in the majors in 2024, slashing .196/.271/.381 with eight home runs and 17 RBI across 188 plate appearances. It's unclear if the Mariners plan to give the left-handed-hitting Canzone regular starts against right-handed pitching, as Seattle could instead deploy a platoon of Luke Raley and Dylan Moore in right field while Robles is on the shelf.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Optioned to Tacoma
The Mariners optioned Canzone to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.
Canzone didn't put up much of a fight in the race for an Opening Day roster spot, slashing just .209/.244/.395 with three RBI and nine runs scored in 45 plate appearances during spring training. He'll now look to earn his way back to the majors in Tacoma, where he finished with an .888 OPS across 29 games last season.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Loses roster spot
The Mariners optioned Canzone to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
Canzone had started just seven of 18 games since coming off the injured list earlier this month and went just 3-for-26 at the plate over that stretch. With Julio Rodriguez able to play center field again and Victor Robles sliding over to right field, Canzone's playing time was likely only going to dwindle further had he stuck around with Seattle.

The lefty-hitting Canzone will take a seat Saturday with the lefty-throwing Blake Snell set to toe the slab for San Francisco. Randy Arozarena, Victor Robles and Julio Rodriguez will start across the outfield while Mitch Haniger serves as Seattle's designated hitter.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Absent from lineup
Canzone is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Dodgers.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Belts eighth homer Sunday
Canzone went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a win over the Pirates on Sunday.
Canzone ended a 17-game home-run drought with his 416-foot shot to center field in the fifth inning, which extended the Mariners' lead to 8-0 at the time. In the process, Canzone also snapped an 0-for-8 slump that had encompassed his previous four games, and Sunday's homer served as only his third hit in the 18 plate appearances he's logged since coming off the injured list Aug. 9.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Sitting Saturday
Canzone is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh.
Southpaw Bailey Falter is starting for the Pirates on Saturday, which will send the lefty-hitting Canzone to the bench to start the contest. Mitch Haniger will start in right field and bat seventh.

Mariners' Dominic Canzone: On bench again Wednesday
Canzone is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Since being activated from the 10-day injured list, the lefty-hitting Canzone has started in just one of the Mariners' ensuing six games. He hasn't been helped by the fact that the Mariners have faced five left-handed starters or primary pitchers during that stretch, but Canzone's opportunities against right-handed pitching could be somewhat limited moving forward with Julio Rodriguez having recently returned from the injured list and fellow outfielder Victor Rojas having solidified himself as an everyday player.
