Bouchard is less than two weeks removed from suffering a right ankle sprain but is ready to test things out in a game setting. He is eligible for activation at any time, but the Rockies could keep him at Albuquerque rather than retuning him to the major-league roster.

Bouchard (ankle) has been cleared to run from home plate to first base at half speed in recent days in addition to participating in fielding drills, MLB.com reports.
Bouchard is expected to take part in more running drills Monday, and the Rockies could be ready to have him head out on a minor-league rehab assignment shortly thereafter. The 28-year-old shouldn't be in line for an extended stay on the 10-day injured list, but he may not have a regular role waiting for him with the big club once activated. Bouchard was diagnosed with a sprained right ankle immediately following his removal from Wednesday's game, and it will officially cost him at least 10 days. Bouchard's foot slipped off first base once he reached the bag on a sacrifice bunt during the eighth inning. He had to be helped off the field and into the Rockies' clubhouse, where the team will presumably take him in for imaging. Brenton Doyle, normally a regular in the lineup, entered as Bouchard's replacement Wednesday, but Jake Cave would likely see an increase in playing time should Bouchard require a trip to the IL.

Bouchard will move back up to the big club after the Rockies placed outfielder Jordan Beck (hand) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Bouchard was sent down to Triple-A on May 21 after slashing .222/.333/.370 with one home run and three RBI over 63 plate appearances in the majors. He showed improvement in his short stint in the minors, going 6-for-15 with two home runs and five RBI over his last four games with Albuquerque. He'll start in left field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Phillies, but Bouchard may be ticketed for a short-side platoon role while he's up with the Rockies.

The 27-year-old looked as though he might have been headed for a full-time role in right field once Kris Bryant (back) was placed on the injured list April 17, but Bouchard's opportunity seems to have fallen by the wayside while he's posted a .619 OPS through 33 plate appearances in the big leagues this season. While he's in starting nine Sunday against Pirates southpaw Bailey Falter, the right-handed-hitting Bouchard could end up occupying the short side of a platoon in right field with the lefty-hitting Jake Cave until Bryant returns.
