  • Brewers' DL Hall: Completes third rehab outing

Hall (knee) struck out one and allowed one hit and two walks over 1.1 innings in his latest rehab outing Thursday with Triple-A Nashville.

Hall has now made three starts for Nashville since resuming his rehab assignment June 13, but he has yet to cover more than two innings or throw more than 36 pitches in any of those outings. His usage would seem to hint that the Brewers envision Hall filling a multi-inning relief role upon his return from the 60-day injured list, after he struggled through four starts with Milwaukee (7.71 ERA, 2.27 WHIP in 16.1 innings) before being shut down April 21 with a left knee sprain.

  • Brewers' DL Hall: Cleared to resume rehab assignment

Hall (knee) will join Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday to resume his rehab assignment, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Hall experienced a setback with his sprained left knee during his second rehab appearance May 23. He's expected to eventually require a platelet-rich plasma injection or possibly surgery for the knee, but for now, he'll attempt to pitch through the injury. Given that he's been on the injured list since April 20 and hasn't made a rehab appearance in about three weeks, Hall will likely require multiple outings at Nashville to get fully stretched out before he's an option for the Milwaukee rotation.

  • Brewers' DL Hall: Moves to 60-day IL

The Brewers transferred Hall (knee) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Saturday.

Hall's move to the 60-day IL makes him ineligible for activation until June 20, but he wasn't likely to return before that date anyway. The 25-year-old lefty was recommended a platelet-rich plasma injection that would have kept him sidelined until September, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, but Hall will instead attempt to pitch through his injury before having his knee re-evaluated during the offseason. His spot on the 40-man roster will go to right-hander Elieser Hernandez, who signed a one-year deal with Milwaukee on Saturday.

  • Brewers' DL Hall: Bullpen on tap

Hall (knee) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The 25-year-old visited Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles for a second opinion on his sprained left knee Friday and a platelet-rich plasm injection was recommended, but the left-hander will instead follow the initial medical opinion and get back to throwing. Hall made two one-inning rehab appearances in the minors in late May before he tweaked his knee, and he'll likely require at least a few bullpen sessions before being cleared for game action again.

  • Brewers' DL Hall: Getting knee checked out Wednesday

Hall is scheduled to meet with Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Wednesday to have his left knee evaluated, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Hall remains in the midst of a shutdown period after he tweaked his sprained left knee during his second minor-league rehab appearance with Triple-A Nashville back on May 23. The right-hander said that Dr. ElAttrache told him that the MCL in his left knee is intact based on initial scans, but a treatment plan for Hall won't be fully mapped out until Dr. ElAttrache is able to evaluate the knee in person. Hall plans to rejoin the Brewers when their road trip shifts to Detroit this weekend, but it's unclear when he might be ready to resume a throwing program, much less head back out on a rehab assignment.
