  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Expects to be out four weeks

Stanton said Sunday that he expects to be out for roughly four weeks as a result of his strained left hamstring, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Stanton landed on the 10-day injured list Sunday and received a platelet-rich plasma injection to aid in his healing process, but it doesn't seem like the slugging outfielder is on track for a speedy recovery. Trent Grisham could be a candidate to start nearly everyday for the Yankees while Stanton is sidelined, especially if the team decides to use Aaron Judge as its primary designated hitter going forward.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Placed on IL with hamstring strain

The Yankees placed Stanton on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left hamstring strain.

Stanton exited in the fourth inning of Saturday's 8-3 win over Atlanta after injuring his left hamstring while scoring from second base on a Gleyber Torres double. Trent Grisham came off the bench to replace Stanton on Saturday, and the former could be in line for a near-everyday role in the outfield against right-handed pitching while the Yankees perhaps look to give Aaron Judge and others more time at designated hitter sans Stanton. With Stanton on the IL, the Yankees recalled infielder Oswald Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Will miss games

Manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that he's expecting Stanton (hamstring) to miss "days," Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Stanton was removed from Saturday's game with tightness in his hamstring and is set to undergo an MRI on Sunday. While Boone is hopeful the injury isn't significant, he's still expecting Stanton to miss some time. Sunday's MRI should provide more clarity on the severity of the injury. Trent Grisham entered the game for Stanton and could be in line for more at-bats while Stanton's sidelined.

Stanton is out of the lineup for Thursday's game in Kansas City.
