Scott Gomez has become a punchline in hockey with his massive contract and miniscule production. Winning an SUV with a hole-in-one at his own charity tournament won't help quell the jokes.

That's right, Gomez was playing in a charity tournament he runs in Anchorage, Alaska and wouldn't you know it he aced a hole? The prize was a $50,000 new vehicle which he could purchase by walking into the nearest dealership and busting out the billfold.

Here are the details from the Anchorage Daily News:

The Anchorage hockey star fired a hole-in-one in his own charity golf tournament Thursday to win a new $50,000 SUV.

Gomez, a 32-year-old center for the Montreal Canadiens, aced the No. 6 hole at Eagleglen Golf Course, one of four holes that promised a new car from Continental Motors as a reward for a hole-in-one.

"The guy wins a car at his own tournament. Can you believe it?" said Continental Motors owner Marten Martensen.

Gomez couldn't.

"I'm still in shock," he said.

Well it's about time something went right for Gomez within the game, isn't it? He played just 38 games last season and had two measley goals and nine assists to show for it despite his $7,357,143 cap hit and the expectations that come with.

I'm not going to take this opportunity to make the jokes we're all thinking. Instead I'll leave that to you guys down below.
