The Phoenix Coyotes didn't generate many chances on Friday night, but they made their one opportunity in overtime count.

Ray Whitney scored off a set faceoff play at the 14:04 mark of the overtime period to give Phoenix a 4-3 win over Nashville.

Here's a look at the play that gave Phoenix a 1-0 lead in the series...

The Coyotes had just seven shots on goal over the final 34 minutes of Friday's game, and many of those shots were from long distance and had little chance of going in.

This was probably their best opportunity of the night, and they were able to take advantage. It only came about because of an icing call on Nashville on the previous shift, giving Phoenix a rare offensive zone faceoff. In the end, it turned out to be the biggest play of the game as Martin Hanzal was able to win the draw against Mike Fisher to set up Whitney.
