Tupou was elevated from the practice squad for Monday's game against the Chargers, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Tupou's bump up to the active roster could signal that Travis Jones (ankle) is unlikely to play, or at least isn't healthy enough to log a usual workload. The former suited up for the Ravens in Week 10 and 11, totaling 45 snaps on defense and two solo tackles.... See More ... See Less

Ravens' Josh Tupou: Gets new opportunity
Tupou signed a contract with the Ravens on Tuesday. Tupou has spent the last six seasons with the Bengals, but the team didn't re-sign the veteran, opening up the opportunity for him to sign with the AFC North rival. The 30-year-old will likely compete for a depth role on the interior of the defensive line in Baltimore.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Missing Week 9
Tupou (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills. The 29-year-old likely suffered a shoulder injury during the Bengals' Week 8 win over the 49ers, and he was held out of practice all week, so it's no surprise that he's been ruled out ahead of Sunday's contest. With Tupou missing time, Zachary Carter is expected to see an increased workload on Cincinnati's defensive line.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Full participant at practice again
Tupou (calf) participated fully at practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game versus Kansas City, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. After missing the last five games with a calf injury, Tupou finally appears to be on track to play again in Week 13. With DJ Reader (ankle) still listed as questionable for Sunday, Tupou could be in line for a major role just as soon as he's back.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Unable to suit up Sunday
Tupou (calf) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports. Tupou will now miss his fifth straight contest as a result of a calf injury he suffered back in Week 6 in New Orleans. Zachary Carter should continue handling more defensive tackle reps behind starters DJ Reader and B.J. Hill.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Gets walking boot
Tupou was seen wearing a protective boot on his left foot Monday after suffering a calf injury in Sunday's win over the Saints, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports. Tupou's potential absence in Week 7 against the Falcons would certainly be a blow to the Bengals' defensive line with D.J. Reader (knee) already on IR. If he were unable to play, B.J. Hill, Zachary Carter and Jay Tufele would make up the team's rotation at defensive tackle.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Won't return Sunday
Tupou (calf) was declared out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Saints. Tupou has played an increased role over the past two weeks after starting defensive tackle D.J. Reader (knee) was placed on IR, recording seven tackles and a sack while playing at least 63 percent of Cincinnati's defensive snaps in each of these contests. Therefore, the 28-year-old's potential absence moving forward would leave the Bengals significantly under-manned on the defensive interior. Tupou's next chance to play will come next Sunday versus the Falcons.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Status uncertain
Coach Zac Taylor said Sunday that Tupou (knee) will need to be monitored this week, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports. Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Tupou played only five snaps and was on the sideline wearing a hoodie in the second half of Saturday's win over the Titans. He's been dealing with an MCL issue, but he was cleared from the injury report ahead of the game. His participation at practice this week will provide more clarity on the situation.... See More ... Bengals' Josh Tupou: Leaves with injury
Tupou (knee) was injured in the Bengals' 21-16 loss to the Browns on Sunday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Tupou was officially ruled out before the game concluded. He'll now work to get healthy, so he can provide depth on the Bengals' defensive line as they head into the playoffs.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Part of DL rotation
Tupou is back after sitting out the 2020 season and is likely to be part of the Bengals' interior defensive line rotation, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports. Tupou is a run-stopper and is projected to be behind D.J. Reader and Larry Ogunjobi, but could be the next man up. Ogunjobi just started practicing this week, allowing Tupou extra reps with the first-team defense.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Tendered by Bengals
Tupou received a contract tender from the Bengals on Monday. The 25-year-old performed admirably in a rotational role for the Bengals in 2019, producing 27 tackles (14 solo) and one forced fumble across 16 regular-season games. He'll likely be retained by the Bengals for another season and once again fill a depth role along the defensive front.... See More ... See Less -
Bengals' Josh Tupou: Injures ankle
Tupou suffered a right ankle injury Wednesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Tupou was reportedly carted off the practice field. The 2017 undrafted free agent played only one game with the Bengals last season and did not record a single tackle. Missing any amount of time due to injury would certainly impact Tupou's chances of securing a role with the team, as the 24-year-old faced an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster even when healthy....
