  • Marcus Williams: Let go by Baltimore

The Ravens released Williams on Wednesday.

Williams opened up the 2024 campaign as one of Baltimore's starting safeties alongside Kyle Hamilton but ended up losing his spot to Ar'Darius Washington toward the end of the season. Williams will now look to catch on with a new team after having recorded 149 tackles (105 solo) and five interceptions across 32 games during his three-year tenure with the Ravens.

  • Ravens' Marcus Williams: Loses spot in Ravens' rotation

Williams played in 11 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with 33 tackles (26 solo), two pass defenses and one fumble recovery.

Williams began the regular season as the Ravens' starting safety alongside Kyle Hamilton. However, he lost his starting spot to Ar'Darius Washington, and after playing just one defensive snap between Week 11 and 12, Williams was a healthy scratch for the final five games of the regular season and for Baltimore's two playoff games. Williams signed a five-year, $70 million contract with the Ravens in March of 2022, but given his decline over the course of the regular season, it's hard to imagine him being in Baltimore for the 2025 campaign.

  • Ravens' Marcus Williams: Healthy scratch again Week 15

Williams (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup versus the Giants.

Williams will sit out as a coach's decision for the second straight week. After starting in each of Baltimore's first nine games this season, the veteran safety has fallen out of the rotation while Ar'Darius Washington has taken hold of a starting role.

  • Ravens' Marcus Williams: Inactive Sunday

Williams (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles.

The safety only played on one defensive snap over the past two games. Williams played on more than 80 percent of the defensive snaps in nine of Baltimore's first 10 games but has lost playing time in recent weeks to Ar'Darius Washington.

  • Ravens' Marcus Williams: Expected to play

Williams is active and expected to play in Sunday's Week 9 matchup with the Broncos, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.

Williams was active for the Ravens' Week 8 loss to the Browns but ultimately did not see the field. He is expected to be back in his usual role at safety versus Denver.

  • Ravens' Marcus Williams: Second-leading tackler in loss

Williams racked up six tackles (five solo) and one pass defensed during Thursday's 27-20 loss to the Chiefs.

Williams played 100 percent of the defensive snaps in Baltimore's season opener and finished second on the team in tackles, behind only star linebacker Roquan Smith. The starting safety figures to repeat an every-down role Week 2 versus the Raiders at home.
