The Cardinals signed Kennard to their active roster Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Kennard's promotion isn't much of a surprise considering he was elevated to Arizona's active roster prior to both of the team's first two contests. Through Week 2, the 31-year-old linebacker has registered two total tackles, with one in each game thus far. Expect Kennard to continue operating as a rotational piece for the Cardinals defense when the team hosts the Rams on Sunday.... See More ... See Less

Cardinals' Devon Kennard: Returns from reserve/COVID-19 list
Kennard was activated from the Cardinals' reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Kennard was forced to miss the team's win over the Cowboys in Week 17 after being placed on the COVID list Dec. 29. The linebacker will return to his depth role ahead of the team's final regular season game Sunday against the Seahawks.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Devon Kennard: Will play in Week 3
Kennard (hamstring) is active for Sunday's contest against the Jaguars, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports. Kennard missed Week 2 with a hamstring injury, but he will suit up against the Jaguars in Week 3. He logged only 13 defensive snaps and was held without a tackle during Week 1, so it's unclear how much of an impact his return will have on Arizona's defense.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Devon Kennard: Ruled out against Dolphins
Kennard (illness) won't play Sunday against Miami, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports. Kennard is on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and he won't be eligible to come off until he's asymptomatic and 10 days have passed since his last positive test. Those requirements could be fulfilled in time for Kennard to face Buffalo in Week 10, and coach Kliff Kingsbury added that there have been no new positive tests on the team.... See More ... Cardinals' Devon Kennard: Tests positive for coronavirus
Kennard announced via his personal Twitter account Monday he tested positive for COVID-19. The Cardinals shut down their facility over the weekend due to some positive tests, and Kennard was one of the infected individuals. The 29-year-old will be unavailable until he clears the league's COVID-19 protocols, so he'll be unavailable until further notice.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Devon Kennard: Considered questionable
The Cardinals have handed Kennard (calf) a questionable designation ahead of Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Panthers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Kennard's questionable status is seemingly optimistic as he was unable to practice all week. Still, the team will wait to see how he is feeling closer to kickoff before making a final decision. Look for some combination of Haason Reddick and Kylie Fitts to see increased reps at outside linebacker if Kennard is ultimately unable to go.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Devon Kennard: Not practicing Thursday
Kennard (calf) did not practice Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Kennard has now missed back-to-back practices, and he'll only have one more chance to increase his reps ahead of Sunday's game in Carolina. Haason Reddick would stand to see an uptick in defensive snaps if Kennard is forced to miss any time.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Status for Week 17 uncertain
Kennard (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's divisional matchup versus the Packers, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports. After logging two limited practice sessions, Kennard was a full participant Friday, suggesting he's likely to suit up Week 17. If he's forced to miss the final game of the regular season, however, look for Anthony Pittman to draw the start at one of the outside linebacker positions.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Ready to face Broncos
Kennard (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Kennard is having a solid campaign, as his 53 tackles are just eight shy of a career high, and his seven sacks are already tied for a career best. The sixth-year linebacker will continue filling a starting outside linebacker role.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Dons questionable tag
Kennard (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Kennard wasn't able to practice until Friday and was limited while doing so. Jahlani Tavai and Jalen Reeves-Maybin should continue to get extra playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Misses practice Wednesday
Kennard (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Kennard suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of last Sunday's game versus the Buccanneers and did not return. He recorded four tackles (two solo) and a sack in the loss to Tampa Bay. If Kennard continues to be held out of practice, don't expect him to be on the field Sunday when the Lions visit Denver.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Notches fifth sack of the season
Kennard registered two tackles and one sack during Sunday's 35-27 loss to the Cowboys. Detroit is finally starting to see some more payoff from an expensive investment in Kennard, who's now gotten to the quarterback in back-to-back games after failing to do so in his seven previous outings. The USC product now has 37 tackles and five sacks through 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Three sacks in opener
Kennard recorded four tackles, all solo, and three sacks across 81 defensive snaps in Sunday's tie with the Cardinals. Fellow linebacker Jarrad Davis was sidelined for Sunday's opener with a high-ankle sprain, which forced Kennard to take over the play-calling responsibilities. The veteran played in 81 percent of the defensive snaps and made an impact, as he took down Kyler Murray on three separate occasions.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Won't play Week 14
Kennard (hip) is inactive for Sunday's game at Arizona, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports. Kennard will miss his first game of the season after suffering the hip injury last week against the Rams. Eli Harold should see a heavier workload at linebacker for the Lions in his absence.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Not practicing to begin week
Kennard (hip) did not practice Wednesday. Kennard suffered a hip injury during Sunday's loss to the Rams. If Kennard is unable to suit up against the Cardinals in Week 14, Eli Harold will once again slot into the starting lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Another sack Sunday
Kennard recorded one sack and recovered a fumble across 78 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Packers. Kennard's five sacks rank as the fifth-highest figure in the NFL. The linebacker continues to see a high volume of defensive reps, making him an intriguing IDP option at linebacker once the Lions return from their bye week.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Activated from NFI
The Lions activated Kennard (undisclosed) off the Non-Football Injury list Wednesday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports. Kennard signed a three-year pact with the Lions in March after recording between 41 and 61 tackles during each of his first four years in the league with the Giants. He's expected to fill the starting left outside linebacker spot for the Lions in 2018 and can now get to work following a delayed start to camp.... See More ... See Less -
Lions' Devon Kennard: Placed on NFI list
Kennard (undisclosed) was placed on the Non-Football Injury list Thursday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Kennard was available for most of spring workouts without mention of any injury. The reasoning for his placement on the NFI list thus isn't clear, though those familiar with his situation indicated that the linebacker will be ready to go prior to the start of the regular season. In Kennard's absence, Christian Jones and Jonathan Freeny figure to get extended reps with the first-team defense.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Devon Kennard: Joining Lions
Kennard and the Lions have reached agreement on a three-year, $18.75 million contract, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. A 2014 fifth-round selection, Kennard landed between 41 and 61 tackles each of his four seasons with the Giants, adding 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception in 52 games. He has experience both rushing the passer and dropping into coverage, potentially making him a strong fit at outside linebacker as the Lions transition to more 3-4 looks under new head coach Matt Patricia.... Giants' Devon Kennard: Questionable in Week 11
Kennard (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Kennard is one of three Giants linebackers on the Week 11 injury report , as B.J. Goodson (ankle) has been ruled out and Kelvin Sheppard (groin) is listed as doubtful. Curtis Grant would be the top candidate to start at one of the outside linebacker spots if Kennard joins Goodson and Sheppard in street clothes Sunday.... See More ... See Less
