Bears' Keenan Allen: Resting heel injury Wednesday
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that Allen will receive Wednesday's practice off to manage a heel injury, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Allen appears to still be dealing with the heel injury he initially picked up mid-August. He briefly went into the injury tent during the Bears' win over the Titans in Week 1, though he was able to finish out the contest. Though Allen will appear on the Bears' initial Week 2 injury report, Eberflus' characterization of the receiver's absence Wednesday as a rest day suggests that Allen's status for Sunday's game against the Texans isn't in much jeopardy. Meanwhile, rookie wideout Rome Odunze (knee) is considered day-to-day due to an MCL sprain and appears far less likely than Allen to play Week 2.

Bears' Keenan Allen: Top target in Chicago
Allen recorded four receptions on 11 targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Titans.
Like the entire Chicago offense, Allen disappointed in Week 1. He was extremely inefficient, averaging only 2.6 yards per target with a long reception of nine yards. Positively, Allen was the most-targeted option of the Bears' three top receivers, so when Caleb Williams presumably improves, Allen should be a significant beneficiary.

Allen (heel) is listed as active Sunday against the Titans.
On Aug. 28, Bears GM Ryan Poles relayed to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com that Allen was dealing with discomfort in his foot, but the expectation at the time was that the veteran wide receiver would be available Week 1. Allen kicked off this week with back-to-back limited showings due to a listed heel injury, but despite progressing to a full session Friday, he entered the weekend as questionable to play Sunday. Now that his status is confirmed, he'll serve as one of Chicago's top pass catchers for rookie QB Caleb Williams along with fellow WRs DJ Moore and Rome Odunze and TE Cole Kmet.

Bears' Keenan Allen: Likely to suit up Sunday
Allen (heel) remains listed as questionable but is expected to play in Sunday's game against Tennessee, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus has already said that he expects the veteran wideout to make his team debut Sunday, which comes as little surprise after Allen logged a full practice Friday following a pair of limited sessions to begin the week. With DJ Moore lined up to be Chicago's No. 1 wideout and promising rookie Rome Odunze also in the fold, Allen will look to establish a rapport with No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams in what will be the USC product's NFL debut.

Allen (heel) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, despite upgrading to full practice participation Friday.
The upgrade to 'full' after limited practices Wednesday and Thursday suggests Allen is on track to play. He was first reported to be dealing with foot discomfort last Wednesday, and there subsequently hasn't been any indication of a serious injury. Allen was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a heel injury.
Allen sat out practice Aug. 28 due to discomfort in his foot, but the issue since has been clarified to be to his heel. After returning to drills Wednesday, he'll have two more opportunities this week to get back to full activity before the Bears potentially give him a designation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Titans. If he remains banged up or even is sidelined this weekend, Allen's absence would open up targets for DJ Moore and rookie first-rounder Rome Odunze.
