WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- New Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill was one of the notable stars to come out on Saturday to support former NFL fullback Heath Evans as his foundation sponsored a 7-on-7 tournament at his alma mater, The King's Academy, featuring some of the top high school football teams in Florida.

The annual event benefits The Heath Evans Foundation, which is dedicated to fostering hope and healing in the lives of children and families affected by sexual abuse. Tannehill, along with Cleveland Browns tight end Benjamin Watson, spoke to nearly 500 high school football players about his faith and making the right choices in life. Attending the event with his wife, Lauren, the Dolphins' first round draft pick also took a few minutes to answer a question or two from CBSSports.com.

CBSSports.com: You've already taken a few snaps during OTA's, how have you gotten settled into Miami since being drafted?

Tannehill: "It's been good to get out on the field and competing. Getting in the locker room to know the guys and getting settled in South Florida, it's all been fun."

You are pretty familiar with the new offensive system with your former college coach, Mike Sherman, running things. How much do you know of the playbook and does that put you a little ahead of the others?

Tannehill: "I wouldn't say I'm ahead, they're professionals and they put the time in. It definitely takes a little off my plate as far as having to learn a whole new playbook. I did know the majority of it coming in and yes there's some adjustments and things we've changed on some plays. It definitely helped minimize the amount of learning on paper that I had to do and allow me to focus on getting better and working on the timing and the details of plays."

What's the competition been like with Matt Moore and David Garrard and do you feel like you want to start right away?

Tannehill: "It's been great, those guys have really welcomed me into the room. I was kind of unsure of how they were going to handle it but they've been great. Both are great guys, standup guys and good football players as well. We're all competitive and we all want to be the guy but it's not a hostile environment. We're here to compete and have fun, play the game and help each other out along the way. At the end of the day, whoever the coaches feel like is 'the guy' then we're going to be happy for him. That's what they decide so ultimately that should be the guy that gives us the best chance to win. We all feel like we're that guy but we'll see what happens."

Some of the big offseason news was that the Dolphins would appear on HBO's Hard Knocks, do you have any idea what to expect?

Tannehill: "It's different. I don't really know what to expect, I've never really watched a season of it. Like I said, I don't know what to expect but it's a unique thing that our organization feels like would be a good thing for us. We'll hit it on the ground running."

There are lots of rumors that free agent wide receiver Chad Ochocinco could wind up with the team, what have you heard about the possibility of him signing?

Tannehill: "I don't know anything about that."

Evans, also an analyst for the NFL Network, had to pull Tannehill away but did add that he thought the Dolphins would indeed sign Ochocinco.
